The food is good but it's gotten way too expensive. A salad plus their cost of living charge you're around $25, the sandwiches you're low 20's and even a croissant is around $8. Have been to a lot of similar places and they cost is 15-20% more at least(plus their cost of living charge)

Pretty good bread with lots of chew. Smoked salmon was fresh and the right amount of cream cheese without going overboard. Matcha latte was ok, but more milky and matcha doesn't stand out too much so probs better for coffee here. Ample seating though. Comfortable with 2 restrooms.

First time here and everything looked amazing. I tried the pastrami sandwich on their homemade sourdough--so good. The orange juice was fresh and perfectly balanced, not too sweet or sour. I loved the chai latte too, smooth and not overly sweet. Highly recommend the Wagyu pastry and cookies--they're not greasy or too buttery, just right. Pira was very kind and patient while I took my time deciding, and even offered to slice my loaf. Great service and nice interior as well. I'll definitely be back soon!

Another great visit! My regular stop for breakfast when I have an appointment close by. I order the Big Breakfast and it is beyond filling! Their baked goods are fresh and I also puck up baked goodies and bread to take home. They make great Lattes! Chai Tea Latte here us one of the best around! Service is always excellent! See you next month!

One of the best bakeries in town for sure. Came with a friend for breakfast on a weekday and there was no wait for a table. We dined in, plus got a bunch of items to go. I tried: + Shakshuka + Cold brew + Oat Poppy Cookie + Kouign amann + Peach Morning Bun + Cinnamon roll + Apple Millet Cake + Avocado toast with over easy egg + Chocolate chip cookie The oat poppy cookie is a sleeper hit - one of the best and chewiest cookies ever. Kouign amann, avocado toast and chocolate chip cookie were my other favorites. Cinnamon roll is comically large and was a huge hit in the meeting I brought it to later. Apple Millet Cake and cold brew were also great. Shakshuka was the only miss - just kind of runny and off - it paled in comparison to the avo toast. The guy who helped us out at the register was super friendly!

Ok been here twice now and can say I am a fan. They are currently re-doing the outdoor dining area, it didn't affect my experience at all. It will be nice to have that option once finished. Inside is clean and fresh, nice big booths. Menu covers all the sandwich and salad greats- tuna, blt, caesar salad, just a few. Their bread is amazing. Do note however if you get something on a baguette, make sure you have solid strong chompers- the homemade sourdough is one sturdy loaf! I had the blt this time and it was sublime! Lightly toasted sliced sourdough. mayo, juicy tomato, top-notch crispy bacon, and lettuce in perfect ratios created a stellar sammie. BLTs are simple but hard to master. Lodge got it right with top quality components and that delicious sourdough. Companion is crazy for the vegan Caesar and I have to agree- it is top-notch. The croutons are so yum and the dressing is perfect- tart with a citrus punch. I washed it down with a mint lemonade and I have to say that was on-point too. Got a loaf to go, too. Why not? Love this place!

A good spot for pastries and good coffee. Order the shakshuka, some flat whites and pastries. Friendly staff and helpful servers. Not the most comfortable booths, but at least there is seating.

I just experienced what can only be described as a life-altering berry scone. Flaky. Buttery. Perfectly sweet. I'm not saying it changed me... but I'm not not saying that. And if that alone doesn't earn this bakery your loyalty -- they slice their own sourdough. Yes. They will cut it for you!!! And don't get me started on the cinnamon roll...

We went on a Saturday morning and didn't have an issue finding parking. There were plenty of spots available right out front. I had the breakfast sandwich and coffee while my partner had the chocolate cake and a croissant. I thought the portions were generous and was surprised at the size of the breakfast sandwich, it was a large sandwich. Everything was good! The staff were friendly and personable and checked in with us to make sure everything was OK. It being a new restaurant, it has a new and clean vibe to it.

I stopped at Lodge and had the best experience ! Not only was the croissant perfect and didn't upset our tummies because it was perfectly soured BUT the service was great! They were kind and helpful and went above and beyond the call of duty to see that we were pleased. And then the best thing happened, an employee named Jess came to me personally to make sure we were having a great experience , she had been swamped and she wanted to be sure that she wasn't short or neglectful in the rush of lunch. I thought that was so amazing and 'big' of her to do so. Lodge you are very lucky to have Jess and the gang to hold it down for you in BH! I can'twait to return!! Oh! And the ambiance was the nicest and cleanest of ALL Lodge Breads! Love, A Lodge Stan

Nice breakfast spot with great coffee and pastries . There is street parking along Gregory in the residential area and also metered parking around . You order at the counter and pay then find open seating where the food is served to you . They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating . I ordered the shakshuka which comes with a side of delicious sourdough bread and I also got chopped salad . You can choose a protein add on for the salad ( tuna, avocado or turkey ) . Food was delicious and I would definitely come back .

We ordered a few pastries to dine in and take away. Also ordered a Shakshuka. It's something I order often and recently in the Middle East. This shakshuka tasted like Borsht. I think it might be in the grilling or broiling the tomatoes and peppers, but this one didn't taste right. It was more of a soup/stew flavor instead of a breakfast treat. Service was lovely and my Flat White delicious.

We came with a group of eight people around 4 PM, knowing the café closed at 5. We asked in advance if it would be okay for us to stay a little longer, and we were told that was completely fine since they have an outdoor patio and guests could stay as long as they were comfortable. The biggest issue was the service. Since the kitchen was about to close, they brought out everything at once appetizers, main dishes, and coffee. Our table wasn't big enough for all the food and drinks, so part of the order ended up on a nearby table. As a result, coffee was getting cold and hot dishes were cooling down while we were still eating appetizers. What made it even more awkward was that the staff kept asking us to move food from the neighboring table to ours, even though there was physically no room for it. We stayed for almost two hours, and no one ever needed that table. It would have made much more sense to bring the food out gradually instead of delivering everything at once. Another thing that stood out was that throughout the entire evening the servers seemed confused about who had ordered what. For a party of eight, I would expect a restaurant to keep track of which guest ordered each dish. Almost every time food arrived, there were questions about who it belonged to, and at one point they even brought a dish that belonged to a completely different table. Toward the end of the evening, we also felt a little rushed to leave, which was surprising since we had specifically asked beforehand if staying later would be okay and were told it wouldn't be a problem. Overall, the food was good, the atmosphere was nice, and we enjoyed spending time there. However, our bill was over $700, and for that kind of money I would expect a much smoother and more organized dining experience. I think they simply need to improve the organization and training of their service staff, because that's where most of the issues came from.

There is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. We ordered the shrimp pasta, blue smoothie bowl, and tuna tostadas and for drinks we ordered a green juice and an iced macchiato. To start off, the shrimp pasta was flavored perfectly! It is a little heavy for lunch but probably perfect for dinner. The blue smoothie bowl I also recommend! I don't like bowls that are too sweet and this bowl had the perfect amount of sweetness. The fruits were really sweet and it balanced out with the smoothie and nuts that were in there. My absolute favorite were the tuna tostadas! I was surprised that they would be my favorite dish as we only ordered it as an extra shareable plate! The tuna tasted fresh and it was perfectly seasoned! It went really well with the avocado and the chip that was underneath the tuna. I would definitely go back for just the tuna tostadas! Fries were good this time, but I would go without the pizza in the future. On their final opening night I arrived too early; forgetting that dinner didn't start for an hour so I had the fries (again) while waiting for dinner. During my foodie relatives' Thanksgiving week visit to Honolulu, we were discussing making…read morerestaurant reservations for our upcoming Christmas/New Year visit to Los Angeles. However, after we raved about our multiple dining experiences at LAVO Las Vegas, we were surprised to learn that none of our relatives had ever dined at the restaurant's Los Angeles location. So, when the opportunity arose, I made an after-Christmas dinner reservation through OpenTable and excitedly waited. We knew exactly where LAVO Los Angeles was located, as we had frequently driven past the Sunset Medical Tower on Sunset Boulevard and had eaten at the same restaurant space before it changed hands several times over the past decade or so. They offer valet service, which only accepts credit card payments, and because of the restaurant's location, you might as well use the service, because you'd be hard-pressed to find street parking. Our group of six arrived at the restaurant about 30 minutes before our reservation and were greeted by a friendly hostess who asked whether we were ready to be seated or preferred to wait in the bar. We chose to be seated, and she escorted us into the quiet, warm, yet festively decorated dining room. The busser approached us, took our water service request, and informed us about who our server would be. Our server, Addison, came to our table while the busser refilled our water glasses and offered assorted citrus slices to flavor them. After my brother-in-law showed Addison the magnum of wine he brought and asked if the sommelier could uncork the bottle, since it was not only a 2006 vintage but also had a long, possibly fragile cork, even though they kept the bottle in their personal wine storage. Unfortunately, they didn't have a sommelier on duty, and Addison informed us of the restaurant's impending end-of-year closure and confidently said she could uncork it with her trusty corkscrew. However, my brother-in-law decided to give it the "ol' college try" and successfully uncorked the bottle. FOOD: -Fritto Misto: a platter of lightly battered and fried zucchini, shrimp, calamari, and vinegary peppers with marinara was delivered to our table and was quickly shared and devoured. Everyone felt the fritto misto was light, delicious, and perfectly cooked. $28 -The Meatball: We've often seen this appetizer ordered at the Las Vegas site, but we never ordered it because we felt it was too much food to share between us. However, now that we had our family surrounding us, we ordered it. The 16-oz meatball is made with fresh-ground imperial Wagyu, Italian sausage, and veal. It is served with whipped ricotta and marinara. We shared the tender, toothsome meatball among us and sopped up the sauce with garlic bread. $34 -Semolina Sesame Garlic Bread: Addison highly recommended this garlic bread to pair with The Meatball and sipping on our Cabernet blend wine. The lightly grilled-toasted loaf was served with three dipping sauces (marinara, basil pesto, & Gorgonzola dolce). $18 -Zitoni Genovese: braised short rib, sweet onions, pecorino Romano. I received a generous portion of Neapolitan or Sicilian zitoni pasta (larger ziti tubes) and an intensely flavorful, tomato-wine-based, fall-apart tender, slow-braised short ribs ragù. This comfort-food pasta dish was so rich and filling that I could barely eat half the portion and ended up bringing home leftovers. $33 -Faroe Island Salmon Oreganato: My husband cut into the salmon filet, which had a light crisp coating of breadcrumbs and revealed the fillet's tender medium-rare doneness. The rich, buttery-tasting salmon filet sat atop a melange of sautéed vegetables and was dressed with a lemon, white wine, and garlic butter sauce. My husband jokingly said he could feel his heart health improving with each bite. $39 The rest of my family ordered their own entrees, and when we were nearly finished with our meals, we decided to share a dessert. We ordered the luscious 20 Layer Chocolate Cake ($29), and each of us commented on the "decadence" of chocolate, peanut butter, and mascarpone. During our dining experience, Addison informed us that LAVO Los Angeles would sadly be closing at the end of the year. We were happy to have supported this restaurant, and it was great to see so many others show their support during the Holidays.
