First time visiting and everything went well. What made me walk here was the biscotti. I found this spot on Yelp, just looking for some good coffee nearby within walking distance. I like the many different drink options available but it was the "Organic House Biscotti" that sold me. Street parking is available on Melrose or the side street but I chose to get some steps in. I love the outdoor seating out front along with the menu posted for those curious heads walking by. Big enough to grab someone's attention. It caught mines just before stepping foot inside. Now the ambiance is a calm, chill and feels like a community oriented atmosphere. It wasn't loud or noisy but very busy. The restaurant is clean. The associates are cool and professional. At first I felt out of place lol being that some of the customers seemed to be regulars just looking at me and not saying anything. One lady even came in with her son and just stood in front me while waiting in line until I son attempted to politely let her know. I wasn't tripping tho lol. S/O to Lizzy. I hope I mentioned his name correctly. The young guy with the hat and earring haha. Me saying he made my experience or visit better is an understatement. He honestly provided some awesome customer service. I grabbed my bag of biscotti off of the shelf and waited in line. Not only did he apologize for the long wait but he also gave me a good recommendation for my coffee. Was going with a regular macchiato and he said caramel. I'm like forget it, why not ??? Haha. My thoughts were fixed on hot but he also suggested an Ice latte instead. So all in all, I think I may have purchased a Caramel Latte lol. While I waited he told me to check out the garden in the back. The concept is beautiful and dope. I love the set up out back. It's open spaced with the tables and chairs, a water station, and a great vibe. A nice place to chill and hangout. Didn't take long the my order. By the time I went back inside my name was being called. A customer in line said the coffee looked good and it was. The almond biscotti is also good. I can see myself returning. Hands down the best café in town! Everything we've tried has been exceptional. The selection of specialty pastries is unreal--beautifully crafted, incredibly fresh, and absolutely delicious. The sourdough bread is outstanding, the banana bread is perfectly moist and flavorful, the carrot cake is fantastic, and the pizza is the best in town, especially with its organic sourdough crust. And the coffee is consistently excellent--easily one of the highlights of every visit. What makes this place even more special is that it's a beautifully run family café. The food was so fresh and delicious and the staff was so friendly and helpful. Such a cute place with outdoor seating on the patio, which we really enjoyed. I had the Bella's salad which is really delicious with grilled vegetables and feta and my husband had the Galilayan sandwich with amazing grilled pita and eggplant. We also brought home the same sandwich for my daughter and the ahi tuna sandwich for her roommate. They enjoyed their meals as well. This restaurant was recommended to us by people we met on an airplane on our way to Los Angeles from Florida! I wish I could thank them. We hope to be able to come back! read more

Good stuff here at reasonable prices. Only thing I was sad about - no bread at 930 am on a Saturday. One lonely loaf of rye bread. That was it. I bought a plain croissant and almond croissant and a slice of carrot cake.. all was very good and I think it was about $23 with tip which in my book is pretty reasonable. Clearly everything is made in house and at a good price. They also are selling flour so I guess I could've gotten some and made my own bread. read more

When people say third time the charm, it seemed to be true for my visit to Bella's. Having been there 2 Sundays in a row, I disappointedly had to find the cafe's closed. Finally it's open at the third one! If you still wanted to get the full selections of the pastries, highly recommended to pre-order for pick up as they're sold out fast. I did mine, hoping to get the Chocolate Almond Croissant but unfortunately only got the Almond one online. Reaching the venue I asked if they had the Choc Almond one and requested if I could swap. They nicely entertained it so long as I paid the difference, which I certainly didn't mind. However, as I enjoyed my croissant in their charming open-air back patio, I realized it's actually the almond one, left me in confusion LOL. Nonetheless, I was still super pleased by my pastry. The almond croissant easily made it to my favorite-in-town list, being so generously stuffed with luscious almond paste. I might even say this was prolly most stuffed one I had ever tried. The buttery pastry base was also such spoiler to my palate. 100% would be coming back, hopefully with the right chocolate almond one HA! read more

I have come here twice and I am obsessed! I order their shakshuka, salads...and I always leave with a sourdough loaf. I introduced my friend to their strawberry matcha, and I think it changed her life. Haha. They have a nice sitting area in the back with heaters. We met the owner who was very kind. I don't know where to start because I'm in love with this place. Great bread, great coffee, great pastries. But my favorite at the moment is their egg sandwich: sounds simple but every bite is like heaven. The bread is slathered w some amazing sauce, just the right amount of greens and roasted tomatoes, and then the perfectly cooked egg. it's like a symphony in my mouth. i reluctantly saved half for my husband, hoping he wouldn't be hungry...but NO. He finished it! I am also a huge fan of their pizzas. Again the dough is a star but all of the fresh ingredients cooked in their wood fired oven result in a pizza I could eat every day. I want to give place 100 stars. I can't explain how happy I was to find this gem . I must have eaten 3 loaf of bread in one night. Sourdough dark bread, sourdough white bread, sourdough focaccia. And sourdough pizza . I could not stop eating. And let me tell you about the owner and the stuff. They get 100 stars too. Nice polite, knowledgeable, making sure you happy and helping you with love. You can taste the love in the food you eat. And then let's talk about the beautiful ambience. It checks off all the boxes. Day time I can take the kids, I can clients, meet up with friends or just have a beautiful date night with my husband. But most importantly the place is dairy, kosher certified. And the story on how they ended up in Los Angeles and not in Israel is beyond amazing. We are blessed to have them here. And did I mention they are delicious. Worth every penny you will spend there. I was teetering between a 2 or 3 star review. Let's start with the good. Their pizza is great. Overpriced but great. The bread is fantastic and a lot of the items on the menu seem good. Now the bad. Service is horrible! Literally from top to bottom, everyone there has a bad attitude. The walk up ordering is annoying. I don't want to stand for 10 mins to wait to place my order. With prices like this, it should be traditional waiter service. Not enough seating for the space and amount of people. Lastly and in my opinion the worst. We got a menu item that we really did not like. In my life, I have never been to a restaurant that wouldn't take an item back and make you something else. But I guess there's a first for everything! Aside for the fact that they didn't have our first choice available and we had to choose quickly because there was a long line behind us, but when a restaurant tries to stick you with food you don't like, that shows the overall attitude that they really aren't customer focused and unfortunately that really showed in so many aspects of our experience. read more

I think I may have a new favorite bakery in L.A. (Well, my part of L.A., anyway). First, they have really good croissants. Flakey and flavorful. Didn't need to put anything on it, could've just eaten it straight. Though I think it would've fallen apart if I tried to cut it and use it for a sandwich. Next, got the cheese danish. Not as cheesy as some might like (though some like their cheese danishes to be stupid cheesy), but still, it was delicious, especially heated. I also got 2 cookies: chocolate chip, which was pretty typical but good, and a brownie cookie, which was nice and soft. I think I liked the brownie better. As for the place itself, the staff were super friendly. That said, they don't have a lot of places to sit, and the eat-in menu didn't seem all that interesting (especially next to Fratelli's next door), so I think I'll probably just get stuff to go. Great place to get good bread with a slice of honey mustard. Jeffrey moved out again as he gutted his RV to save up for some of this top nosh cuisine. Probably worth it, he brought me home some spelt pancakes someone accidentally left in the trash pile. But still, mediocre! I like the feel of the establishment, but unfortunately i spilled soup on my socks and nobody did nothing about it.
