Every time we drove past this tiny slice of heaven it was packed! After waiting several minutes to get a table, it found it was well worth the wait. The eggs Benedict were excellent, as was the service. As busy as it was, the servers were able to keep up, with smiles on their faces and kind words. After an hour wait, we were super disappointed in the food and service. And the restaurant was really dirty with napkins and trash on floor. We needed a pet-friendly lunch spot. And fortunately they are (Inside and out). The waitress rushed us through ordering. So ended up with a mushy club sandwich, which we tried sending back and ordered a replacement meal. But we were charged for it anyway. They don't have a kids menu for lunch, only for breakfast. So if you have kids, this isn't a good lunch option for you. read more

This place looked adorable. We were excited to stop in and try it. The hostess was less than welcoming. A large party had walked in ahead of us and another couple. She asked if we' were a group, both told her no. She sat the large party and the other group of two. Didn't tell us anything nor come back. Finally another girl came and sat us. Our waiter took forever and came by to take our order, deliver our food (which he gave to the wrong table and then handed to us) and drop off the check. Customer service was completely lacking. I ordered pancakes which weren't bad, if undercooked. My husband has the huevos which were actually spicy so that was a plus. Don't know that I'd stop by again. read more

I ordered the shrimp eggs benedict. It was absolutely awful. The hollandaise sauce contained possibly garlic which was overpowering and ruined the entire dish. The shrimp was hardly cooked at all. The eggs were hard cooked which is not a poached egg. Our service was excellent however. read more

Took our drink order and came back and took our breakfast order. Maybe took 30 minutes to get our food. Very popular place, so plan to wait 15 min between 730am-9am. However, the food is awesome and well worth the wait. IMO this is the only breakfast place I would recommend in Ruidoso. This place is awesome! We were introduced to this place by an employee named Tim. It's a cute restaurant with rustic decor and cozy feeling. The food and service are wonderful. This is the place to eat breakfast!!!! My family and I ate breakfast here every time we came to ruidoso. My sister and brother-in-law even know pretty much every server by name. My sister always orders the waffles.... My brother-in-law swaps around... but he loves what ever he orders. Me I'm the hard case.... I don't like eggs... it's always hard to get a breakfast meal without eggs.... But they have a skillet that I order without the eggs and it's still enough food to fill me up. First of all the food was so amazing there was five of us and we all got different meals. I highly recommend the Denver omelette. It is so delicious and the waffle that has crushed up pecans and bacon bits inside of it is to die for you must eat this. More than 10 minutes before anyone came by for our drink orders, but she did at least get our food order at the same time. Our drinks came out promptly, but our food took about 30 minutes to come out. The waitress did not check on us a single time during that period. To be fair, there are a couple of larger parties here (about 10 people in each). But still, 30 minutes is a bit excessive for 4 simple breakfasts. When our food did come out, our eggs were made wrong. But after all of that, the food really was absolutely fantastic. If you are an outdoorsman this is not the place for you. We waited 30 minutes to be seated and once we were seated we waited another 25 minutes for someone to come to take our drink order. Three other groups came in after us and had their drinks and orders taken with no service for us. We were wearing our hunting camo so I guess they could not see us. People consider this an institution in Ruidoso, so of course we had to try it when we visited the area recently. The ambiance is rustic, with stuffed animal heads and a true log cabin-y feel. Kind of fun and relaxed. We went on a weekday, off hours, so it was relatively quiet. We ran into some folks who were staying at the same place as us, so we had them join us. They had become Log Cabin "regulars," and loved things like the pancakes and the sausage. I had eggs and the daily special, these unique carrot cake pancakes. They were delightful, although the waitress was a little sloppy arriving with stacked plates, as the cream cheese topping on the pancakes glued itself to the other plate. Service was a bit slow considering the low volume customers at that time of day, but the food quality was excellent.
