Wow, where do I even start? My fiancé had ranted and raved about this place ever since I moved here, well last night was our first opportunity to go. First impression was the place was very dated but I could care less if the food is good, When you walk in the door though you are overwhelmed by a brown sugar/maple syrup smell that is so strong it put me off my appetite a little. I will say that we were seated very quickly, they were the only steak place in town without an hour or more wait, but now I can see why. Initially we had a very young waitress come over to take our drink order, she couldn't get the alcohol but stated our waitress would be right there. Our table was talking amongst ourselves when our waitress approached and stated "I've given you time to look what are you having?" I was a little shocked and kind of stared at her for a minute and she said to me "I'm starting with you" we all placed our order and got up to get our salad bar, the establishments one redeeming quality, everything was cold and fresh and with a very nice selection of toppings. We had finished our salad bar before our fellow diner had even received his drink (the alcohol from earlier). Shortly after that the food arrived, I had a ribeye combo with a shrimp skewer. The shrimp was okay, the steak was subpar, I have had better steak at a buffet, my side was green beans (one of my favorites) of which I could only tolerate 2 bites. My fiancé is very particular about how his steak is cooked, he wants it medium well, it came out with a spot in the middle so raw it was cool. Now granted he ordered a porterhouse (as a substitute for the steak he wanted that they were out of) which is a very thick cut of steak, but I would think a STEAKhouse would know how to cook their meat. And let's not forget the bread, or should I say THEY forgot the bread, the waitress brought out two warmed hamburger buns cut in half (I'm not exaggerating, I wish I would have taken a picture), with a dish of butter, and stated "this isn't our regular bread," and walked away. I would have been less put off if she had simply stated they were out... Our surly waitress only came around once or twice to check on us and refill drinks and was very short every time, I don't think I've ever had such poor service from a waitress, they were busy but had open tables but this woman acted as though we were taking precious time away from her by existing. Long story short if this place had a hay-day it has long since passed, the prices are not equal to the quality and they need to check into how their wait-staff is treating their clients, I don't see myself ever returning here. I agree that it's hit and miss. I've gone a few times over the years. I think the biggest issue is that there is basically no competition on this side of town. Service is patchy. I went there once 40 mins before close and was sat by the kitchen and heard the kitchen staff loudly, loudly complaining about is showing up so late. I got up and left. I've been back since. Lackluster. It's a good alternative to all the chains in town, but they could use a sit down from management about how to proper represent their brand. read more

We stopped in for dinner before the Hawthorn Half Day Relay and Ultra. My ribeye steak was well seasoned, perfectly cooked, and delicious. The shrimp skewer was a nice add on, and the salad bar was worth all three visits. Service was fast and friendly. I'll definitely visit again anytime in the area. read more

Went here for Valentine's Day last year. The waitress was friendly, but the open seating are with no partition walls allows for little privacy in the restaurant. I wish I could give this no stars. Myself and 4 other people went to Logans Rib Eye and the experience was terrible. We waited for 25 minutes before the server came to our table. I would understand this if they were busy or short staffed, but there were plenty of servers running around. The prices are quite high and the food was not good enough for the price. Steaks were not cooked they way they were ordered and there was no seasoning to the steak at all. The salad bar was decent but it was a mess. We decided this was the last time we will be visiting this place. Save your money and pick somewhere else. read more

My sister and I decided to go here for lunch. Trying a new lunch place we hadn't been to. Upon entering there were no employees around. Bus boy came from back to seat us.there were people at few tables.told are server we hadn't been there befor. We got tenderloin and potato. I also got a 1 time trip to salad bar. The salad plate wasn't much bigger than a saucer. So 1 plate I had salad and 2 strawberry. The other a teaspoon of potato and macaroni salad and 1 slice of orange .while we were eating owner came out visiting with customer.he kept looking at are table .went back and was talking to bus boy.came to our table took dirty plate .watriss brought me box to take home my tenderloin and potato. Told me next time I would be charged for all you can eat salad bar. Because I didn't eat potatoes or macaroni salad!!!! She never told me I couldn't use more than 1 plate. Absolutely Delicious! I had the New York Strip and my Lovely Lady had the Steak Burger, and both were cooked to perfection! our sides came out hot and extremely fresh. My Baked potato was loaded and had the perfect amount of butter and bacon. The salad bar is the absolute best in town with extremely fresh ingredients including real bacon bits and homemade apple butter for the fresh baked bread. Logan's is a premier restaurant in town and I would recommend it to anyone looking to go for a nice relaxing dinner date. The old western street feel leaves some people wanting more, but I personally enjoy the atmosphere and lighting. It is especially nice that even on a busy Friday night it was easy to converse without straining to hear what my Girlfriend was saying. Logan's is top of the line! read more

All steaks order came out rare even though we asked for medium. Sent one back and instead of cooking another one they just microwaved the one making it tough and chewy. I am pretty sure that isn't what the health department prefers. Also, bathrooms were nasty. The thing that was the worst was the waitress gave us our ticket and had a suggested tip on it, which in Indiana is against the law. Then when I gave her my credit card when that receipt came t me she had already filled in the top and totaled it for me. To say the least she got my copy with a tip I thought she earned. She also did this to my sisters receipt. Well, I just checked my bank and the waitress, Tina, changed my tip amount to what she put on the restaurant copy which I did not give her. Called owner on issue and he offered to refund me the money. I did bring up my concern about the steak being microwaved and he stated they do not microwave items. That means they put my partially eaten steak back on the grill that they serve other food from, yuck, who germs did I eat since they cook all ours wrong you know they did it to others. read more

a terrible experience. My husband and I stopped in late on a Friday evening, having heard from a coworker that the place was "really good" we were met with disappointment. When we reached the salad bar...bagged shredded lettuce, packaged cold salads and dirty plates. Yuck. We ordered cheese fries to start, ! A handful of fries with micro waved shredded cheese and salad bar bacon bits. As we received our steaks, both ordered Medium, Mine was rare with a cold center. We sent it back with our waitress who informed us they would "throw it back on the grill" I had already cut on and eaten from this steak!!! (Not Health code procedures) When I received the steak again it was still rare but now on a different plate and new grill marks. After losing my appetite due to frustration, I am currently pregnant so this is difficult to achieve with me , we quickly paid and left. I would never recommend Logan's to anyone I liked. The food was terrible and the price for less than mediocre was astounding!! read more

Was in town for the Easter holiday. Thought we would give Logan's a try for lunch. Was a bit nervous after seeing the disrepair of the buildings exterior but have eaten at a few great places in facilities that warranted a tetanus shot. The staff was friendly enough but the aroma was not of food. Cleanliness was brutal. However we plowed through. We ordered the Easter special at $14.99 each. It came with salad bar and bread. I was shocked that the lettuce at the salad bar was shredded. I would call it great for a "make your own taco" bar not for a salad bar. The bread was warm but had zero taste. Then came the main course. Two slices of ham from a can, yellow corn from a can, baked beans from a can and au gratin potatoes minus the au gratin. It was brutal. Then we were brought the wrong bill to top off the experience. Ultimately it was a $40 meal that was below elementary school standards. There can't possibly be a chef in their kitchen. Super fail. I went there today for lunch, it was the WORST!!!###. I ordered the special which was the Beef Manhattan for $9.50 that included the salad bar. When I received my meal, they had told me the beef was prime rib and it may have been prime rib but this was so full of fat I should have just had a plate of fat instead of any meat when I complained because it's family-owned they probably don't care they said oh we'll adjust your bill so I got the bill and they said we'll just charge you for the salad bar now I only had a little bit of salad and cottage cheese . The bill came,and it was $9.84 which is if you had the tax on to the regular special is only less than a dollar off so how is that any customer service. I didn't even eat it. I said I had been to Saratoga and they have the Beef Manhattan with prime rib and I didn't have any fat and she said well maybe the next time you should ask them to make sure there is no fat but who would even think to ask "Can you cut off the fat?" We started with the breaded mushrooms for an appetizer, they were terrible. Similar to the kind you can buy in the freezer section at Walmart. And they didn't give you very many either, not that it mattered because they were terrible. The salad bar was a complete disappointment. They had shredded lettuce, or spinach leaves, the salad toppings were decent, but the ranch was the most terrible ranch I've ever had. It was neither creamy, nor rich, something you're looking for in ranch dressing. I ordered marinated chicken with broccoli as a side, the chicken was marinated in something that was sweet, it did not taste good. I couldn't finish it. The broccoli was steamed, yet somehow dry... How you manage that is beyond me. My husband ordered a ribeye and steak fries. His steak was good, but not seasoned in any way. The fries were crispy, also not seasoned in any way. This is the worst $50 I have ever spent in my life, and I would have preferred cheap fast food to this disappointment from start to finish. read more

A friend and I met there for lunch. The atmosphere is dark and the entry way dirty. I got the salad bar and for $8.99 it was minimal, plates were small, and selection not good. You can go to a Sweet Tomatoes Restaurant for that lunch price and have soup, breads, a HUGE salad bar, desserts and pasta for the same price. wow, been going to Haute to see my son at Rose Hulman and never went there until this time. we celebrated his graduation there and it was Great. food was spot on, drinks and service was great, if we ever go back to Haute, we will stop there. fair prices, large dining area, lots of locals eat there. nice menu variety too. read more

For a steak house in Terre Haute, this place is pretty good. No frills dining, but the food was solid. Old building, hostess staff was young/high school kids but the wait staff seemed to be seasoned pros. I ordered the "signature" steak which was a mistake because I personally dislike fatty cuts of meat (my server described it properly, I ordered it so I can't really complain). However, what I received was good and cooked to order, I can't fault them for my ordering errors. My husband loved his strip and the broccoli as his side, which seemed to be cooked perfectly without tons of butter or being over cooked. Our waitress was fast, courteous, efficient, everything you could ask for in a server without being annoyingly over-personal. Prices were reasonable considering we found the food to be of good quality. One caveat: the "famous" salad bar is 'meh' at best, but our meals alone were satisfying enough that we were both happy we only sampled the salad bar (I.e. pudding & cottage cheese). Overall, if you're looking for a solid meal with a Terre Haute atmosphere, out experience says you'll get it here. They even had a bus staff that kept our table clear and refilled drinks. read more

I and my family have ate here dozens of times. Its sad to hear the true face of Logans Ribeye come to light. Worst customer service experience I have ever had. Waitress was making fun of my son and my wife over heard her saying that she will never serve a table that had babies ever again. We left, embarrassed and upset. We called just after to explain the situation to the manager on-duty and she was rude and unapologetic. So my wife decided to talk to ownership. Only to explain the situation to Mr. Logan as an educational opportunity for him and his staff. He snapped at her and explained that we shouldn't have came to his so called family friendly restaurant when our son was hungry. I'm appalled, this has to be the poorest excuse of customer service I have ever seen... and I cant blame the waitress or the shift manager. A positive, quality service culture starts from the top-down and Logan's Ribeye doesn't care about its customers. read more

We made reservations 2 months in advance for a wedding rehearsal dinner. We knew Prom and ISU graduation were the same night and we would be getting there at 7:30 p.m. When we went for a visit to check out the venue it was empty and the people were very nice. They assured us that we would have a room, that we might have to share but a partition would be put up. We questioned having enough time to eat as they close at 9 p.m. but were told our orders would be taken immediately and we would have our food by 9:00. Well, we arrived and our space was filthy. Dirt all over the ground and an infant's toy in the shape of a Panda under one of the tables. There was no partition and our wedding rehearsal party had to share space with a group holding a memorial service. It took a half an hour to get our drink orders taken and the waitress was surly. It took even longer to get the food which, when it finally arrived, wasn't very good. At one point, later in the evening, the mother of the bride took the waitress aside and told her that she didn't like her attitude or the food. We did not realize this at the time but when we went to pay the waitress confronted the mother the bride and said she had been rude. Then another waitress joined in and said she had been rude. The mother of the bride left at this point but the waitress, joined by what we suppose was the male owner/manager continued to argue with us and carry on. At one point the owner/manager actually referred to the MOTHER OF THE BRIDE as a "bitch" My husband just wanted to pay the $400.00+ bill and get out but they just wanted to argue. They turned a bad experience into a horrible experience. One of the waitresses, who referred to my husband as "nice" asked how he liked the food and he said he hadn't cared for the fish and was disappointed there was no partition as promised. The owner/manager said they did not but up partitions on nights when they were this busy (I guess they just put them up when they are empty) and accused us of bringing more people than we had made the reservation for. We had made the reservation for between 17 and 19 people and we actually had 15 people at the dinner, and the fact that a restaurant would complain about more business seemed really strange. The waitress again chimed in about how rude the Mother of the Bride at been and at that point my husband said, "I don't care how rude you thought she was, I just want to pay the bill and leave" which they finally allowed him to do, including the mandatory 18% tip for stunningly lousy service, but only after at least 15 minutes of the restaurant staff's totally unprofessional, uncalled for, insulting behavior. Also, the restrooms were nasty, a total breeding ground for salmonella and, in fact, several members of the wedding party were sick afterwards. Not one of the 15 people there that night would ever consider going there again and I deeply regret choosing this odious place for our party. If I could give them zero stars I would.
