The lettuce in the salads tends to be wilted from having dressing on it too long, macaroni and cheese is bland and kind of watery, wings and ribs are both very fatty. Let me start by saying that DoorDash sucks, but Logan's is AMAZING! When DoorDash messed up by completely forgetting a bag with half of my order, Logan's tried to contact them and me to make it right, even with DoorDash ignoring them. This is an American restaurant serving the typical American food that you'd expect. There is a small bar area. It's obvious that they're not trying to draw in the late night meet market crowd. The atmosphere is rustic. There is a lot of wood. A bucket of peanuts is provided to every table, and the custom is that the customers just discard the shells on the floor. As you walk around you can hear the shells crunching under your feet. It's a laid back informal place. The highlight of this place is the steaks. This place serves the best steaks I've ever had. You go to Outback and get prime rib or you go to some place and get filet mignon. Of course those are going to be good, but this place takes an ordinary every day sirloin and makes it tender, juicy and delicious. I don't know how they do it whether it's the meat selection, the spicing or the cooking method, but it's very good. You can even get a six ounce sirloin. I've had many things off the menu here and the steaks are pretty consistently good. The chicken wings have been undercooked on more than one occasion and management is quick to give out freebies upon complaints. Service seems to be hit or miss depending on your server. I personally love that it's on the water. It's kinda cool that it has a neat location. We had a great waitress until she got offended by someone asking for her number jokingly. The fried mushrooms are great and are fried just to perfection. We all had steaks but my dad hated his because it was over spiced and too hard to even eat. My kids and I love this place. We're moving soon out of state and the first thing they asked was "Is there a Logans?" Luckily, there are TWO in our new city! I'm not a steak or seafood eater; I always get the nachos. Having grown up in Manassas, I fondly remember the awesomeness of Pargo's nachos, but alas, they've been out of business for 20 years. This is the closest thing to that. Nachos are simply heavenly and I haven't found any other remotely as good. Like others have said, it used to be good. Last time I went and liked it was in 2008, always a wait at dinnertime and so I thought the food must be excellent. Tried some, and it was pretty good. Waited a while and went back this past Saturday (4/10/10). It was horrible. Everything was bathed in butter or 100% salt. The waitress was very polite but I had to tell her that the home made potato chips were so salty that they made my eyes water. I ordered shrimp, on the menu it said they were large shrimp but when they came, they were no bigger than ones I could get myself at the supermarket. The vegetables I ordered on the side were slathered in some butter-pepper sauce, which made them taste like a tub of Margarine. It was horrible. My husband's meal was also a huge salt feast too. His baked potato (although he asked for it with no salt) came with salt on the skins and on top of the fixings. The food was completely mediocre, way too salty, and we didn't even want to look at the dessert menu, just wanted to get out of there. We won't be going back now. BLECH!!! read more

If I could 3.5 stars, I would. Good food, decent service, but don't go if you are in a rush. Logan's food is good, I like my steak rare and sometimes when I go it is more medium rare instead, but I am not fussy about that. The only food item I've ever been disappointed with are the onion petals - they aren't like an onion ring, or a bloomin' onion. They are something else and just not good. Maybe the time I had it, the onion wasn't quite ripe? Either way, I wouldn't order it again. The servers are good, and friendly. Every time I've been to Logan's they screw up one of my sides - bring me the wrong one, but are quick to rectify the situation bringing me the side I wanted within minutes. HOWEVER: if you are in a hurry to eat? Do not go to Logan's. For the style of place it is, you wait a relatively long time to get your food - it goes beyond the "this will be good, the food will be nice and fresh" to the "I'm hungry, where is my food already." Logan's is close to where I live, and you know what you're getting, so I will continue to go here every now and again - just not when I am absolutely starving or in a rush. read more

First time I was ever here. We do not have any Logans in Maryland-wish we did. I just got a 6oz steak from the healthy meal section of the menu, sweet potato & grilled mushrooms. Superb! When it comes to national chain steak joints, this one is the tops in my book. My dad LOVES a good steak, and every time he visits we HAVE to come here at least once. And time and time again, Logan's delivers. Logan's has a bit more of the casual "roadhouse" feel than other steak houses such as, say, Longhorn. It's not a dimly lit, faux-upscale atmosphere, but rather bright, vibrant, casual, and occasionally noisy. It's one of those peanut-on-the-floor type of places, so if that isn't your type of atmosphere, look elsewhere. The menu is also a bit more casual ... mixed in with the great steaks are appetizers typical of a chain American restaurant (the nachos are ridiculously huge for $8) and they have a good selection of comfort food dishes like meat loaf, pork chops, and ribs, and a small seafood selection. I have had the meat loaf here and it's pretty good. My dad shocked everyone when we went here for lunch two weeks ago and, not feeling like a steak for lunch, opted for a burger and raved at how good it was. But the reason to come here, and the reason I give an otherwise just-above average chain American restaurant 4 stars, is their steaks. They make about as good of a steak as I have ever had. And they consistently deliver a quality steak time after time. They use a special seasoning blend that adds a ton of wonderful flavor, and always get mine that perfect "rare". They also have a great selection of sides, from healthy to decadent, and their rolls are wonderful starters. The small "desert buckets" are great mini-deserts for those with a sweet tooth but not wanting a full large desert. None of that for me on my diet ... but Logan's is very diet-friendly, with a selection of "health nut" meals. And for me, a 6 oz sirloin with 2 veggie skewers fit perfectly into my diet plan. Like any casual American restaurant with a rednecky vibe in Virginia, things can get a bit busy on Friday and Saturday nights. But if you are willing to tackle the crowd, or able to go at a slower time, you'll find that Logan's delivers a surprisingly excellent steak, and has enough variety on the menu to make the whole family happy. read more

This place is going downhill fast. They recently closed 3 of the restaurants in the area so many of the chain are suffering and it shows. Ordered 5 meals for everyone in the fam. Choice Steak - Best entree, well seasoned, properly cooked. Roadhouse Salad - Ok greens, abundance of tomato and bacon bits. "croutons" which were just stale non crunchy roll bits, and an almost rotten avacodo. Loaded Potato Soup - Gluey soup that was weirdly sweet, tasted like someone put honey in it. 2 Kid Mac & Cheese - Plain old Kraft Box mac & cheese Roadie Burger - A wimpy tiny kids burger, don't expect anything like the grownup burgers. Bread and a piece of well done mcdonalds turf. Seat was actually falling apart, it was missing an entire part of the section of seating like it disloged. Hostess was scrambling and we waited a while before being seated. Server was very nice and agreeable, but food service was lacking and slow. Waited almost until food was ready for the rolls to come out. The entire visit seemed it seemed like a struggle despite it not being a busy weeknight after prime dinner ~7:30-8pm. I stopped in for dinner tonight. It was nearly 20 minutes before I spoke to my waitress. I fear I would have waited even longer had I not flagged down the hostess after she finished seating some other guests. Hopefully, this isn't a common occurrence. I had a half rack of ribs with lobster tails, mashed potatoes with gravy and broccoli. The ribs were very tender and well seasoned. The bbq sauce was tangy and applied just right, not drowning but not lacking. The lobster tail was a mistake. I wouldn't get that again. Especially not here. Our waitress wasn't attentive at all... food was okay but the service really lacked. We went on a Friday night. The waiter was nice. The complimentary peanuts and bread was delicious! The food not so good! I ordered the sirloin steak that comes with shrimp and rice. Wondering what happen to the rice there was barely any in the plate- but at the same time didn't taste any good. The shrimp were cold -could of been at least heated up! The taste of the shrimp was so weird-- I love shrimp! My favorite so I was very disappointed, only eat one couldn't finish it. This was my second time at Logan's & I honestly went back just for their rolls which are absolutely to die for! They're complimentary upon being seated & you can always ask for a fresh basket. Service started out a little slow, actually it was horrible. I'm very lenient as I know what's it's like to be a server so it has to be pretty bad for me to say that. I just assumed our server was new just to make sense of it. The manager definitely made our visit more pleasant & service got better towards the end. It was great that they have happy hour EVERYDAY. We visited on a Sunday at around 4:00pm & it was still happy hour (3-6). I had wings & cheese fries from the happy hour menu; both of which came generously portioned. Well I saw the post and comments about the restaurant and decided I would try it. I've been to Logan's in Indiana and everything was good. When I got to the one in Manassas, I definitely wanted to sit outside on the patio. My waiter was excellent! He kept coming back to make sure everything was OK. I wanted a steak & when he brought it out, he did not leave until I cut it to make sure it was medium (which is what I ordered). Well when I cut it it looked more medium well then medium. I started to say that I would keep it, but he wanted me to be happy and offered to get me a new steak. The Manager then brought out my new steak and explained to me that the "lights" outside makes the steak look like it's cooked more than it is... Umm...It was daytime so the only "lights" were from daylight!! He also waited for me to cut the new steak...and it was medium rare now. He said they cooked it a little under this time to make sure...I ate it(it wasn't good) because by that time I was getting tired and ready to go. Like I said...my waiter Alejando was excellent, I just wasn't happy w/my food. read more

I was craving a steak and the wife decided to treat me to a steakhouse steak. The entrance is a little off, towards the back of the building, but the seating outside was actually quite nice, despite being next to a busy road, the deck over a lake/pond is a nice touch. It was a nice day so we decided to take advantage of the deck. The service was quick and the waiter was on spot! The reason for the 2 star is the steak. I ordered a medium rare porterhouse. Drinks were delivered, the salad...then the grey meat with a bone in it. At first it looked a bit like a prime rib. After cutting into it, I noticed, there was no pink whatsoever. No red or brown either except the marks from being seared. Ok, this is different from what I expected. So I decided to slice into it. I took a few bites and realized that it tasted and felt as if it had been refrozen a couple times before cooking...it was mushy. Not at all what I expected from a steakhouse. I'm not one to return food, I just cut my losses and don't return. It's a shame since I rather enjoyed their deck seating. My wife and I used to frequent this restaurant quite often it was one of our favorite restaurants. Unfortunately we move away and had not been there in years. So when we came back to the area, tonight. We decided to go to our old hunt. What the heck happened, I was going to order something else and waitress told me it was prime rib night so I changed my mind and ordered the prime rib, and convinced my daughter to order it as well. After waiting about a half an hour our waitress came and told us they were out. So I ordered a different steak and my daughter ordered a burger. About 5 minutes later they brought out my daughters ( PRIME RIB). I asked runner I thought you were out. They said no. Needless to say I did not get mine and the other steak was not the greatest. Absolutely no flavor, not even a hint of salt or pepper, nothing. Manager was very friendly and took care of us. Restaurant was dirty. Water dripped on my head inside as I was walking out of restroom. You would think with all the employees standing around drinking (soda? from bar) the restaurant would be cleaner. Very disappointed. We visited on November 8th, and sat in the bar. Damonte was our server. The food was good, as it usually is, but the best part of our experience was Damonte. He's been our server before, but this time? It was a gorgeous Fall day, so he was not only the bartender and the server for all of the tables in the bar area, he was also acting as one of the servers for the outside deck area. He was also assisting in serving a very large party in the private room behind the bar. Yet we were never overlooked, never forgotten. We went with a large group on Sunday afternoon that had reserved one of the party rooms. Even with the room reservation, our entire party ended up waiting about 45 minutes before we were taken to the back room and then another 10 minutes setting the tables up etc. The servive was good, and the food was tasty when we were finally served, but I do not recommend them for a large event. They just didn't seems prepared for a large group even though they had the facilities for it.
