The service was kind of crappy. A group of us went to eat as a last dinner with our phlebotomy technician study group. We were sat down at a table and totally forgotten about. A group was sat right after us ordered and got their food way before us. When we finally ordered and got our food about 45 minutes to an hour after being sat down. My food came out and the chicken was way undercooked I sent it back was told they would get my food right out. Well the whole group was done eating and I still hadn't gotten my food back. I asked for it to go since it was now 10pm. I got to my hotel room decided to try a bite of the dinner and my chicken was ice cold, the broccoli was warm and the mashed potatoes tasted really bad. From here, it took another 10 minutes. Strange. They forgot bbq sauce on the bbq burger, side of ranch, and the drink. The employees were nice, but under staffed. Country fried steak - was suppose to come with salad but came with broccoli Called the restaurant and spoke with a manager Christine - she said that we should have been called on the skewers, was sorry for the over cooked steak (little pink thing said RARE - see attached) and was sorry for the broccoli instead of the salad. We spent 11 hours in an airport that ended in a canceled flight. We changed our plans from Bend to Redding with zero research or info on the town. Got stuck in Redding at the Red Lion hotel due to I 5 bring closed for snow last weekend. Wasn't really sure where to go, both of us really tired. Found this place almost across the street. Compromise was that I would go over, order food then grab a beer while I waited. Really good friendly atmosphere, server at the door said she would take my order as it would be quicker, she'd find me at the bar. Guy a seat up there, got a beer, and sure enough food was ready just before I finished it. Took it back to hotel, she'd put in extra sauces, cutlery, napkins etc. Oh and they brag about their rolls... They should TLDR- food, service and atmosphere really really good! read more

Decided to give it another go. Saw the pic of the medium rare tri tip and was sold. What I got was two thick chunk of overcooked tri tip that I had to chew and spit out half the time. Also had to pour my own bbq sauce on it to be able to swallow it. We got 2 of these meals for my wife and I. I am so very disappointed and wish I could get my money back. What a waste. No acknowledgment, zero eye contact, no "we'll be right with you, can we get you something to drink, water, etc...." (especially since we've had a couple of bad experiences at other restaurants recently) I gave them 5 stars today because they really stepped up and gave us two 6oz steaks because they didn't have the 8oz steak that i ordered, both perfectly cooked to a medium rare. The waiter told us three times that he would be bringing us rolls and we ended up having to ask somebody that then told us that there were no rules when we had just seen another table who had a different server receive their rules. This food was terrible! I very rarely complain about food but we waited for our food for over and hour and then I was served literally shrimp jerky. The server was super nice and got her manager and when the manager walked up I said "it looks like this shrimp has been on the grill for a long time" and she said "well defiantly not" no apologies what so ever. Three cheers for Logan's Roadhouse!!! I had a simultaneous hankerin' for Dodger baseball and prime rib while overnight in Redding. The tvs over the bar had the game on, and the menu offered 3 sizes of prime rib. I chose the medium size, done med. rare, and the roasted corn side. Hardworking bar server, Haley, masterfully kept about 20 of us seated at the bar happy and up to snuff with booze and food (half of us were dining). She was friendly, informative, fast to serve a drink and food like I haven't seen before. She should probably be running the joint! Prime rib was perfectly Med. rare, corn roasted right and for desert, a pillar of lush. Chocolate cake so high I blushed...Rich and delicious. Haley gained my admiration and a 30% tip. This last order we had two $25 gift certificates to use that we bought to support the local animal shelter. We didn't order $50 in food, but simply forfeited the rest of the certificates. It really should be a simple thing to give people everything that they order... but they did not include the bake potato we ordered for our celiac son. It was ordered and picked up by us. When we arrived home - the order was incomplete. When I called to speak to the manager he offered to email a coupon. That is nice- but I still need to feed my teenage son. Start up with why-not peanuts, butter bread, fried onion petals, a beer pint, la la la, dance in your seat... then do meatloaf, or chicken mesquite, or Harris Ranch steak, or pork chop, or catfish. Actually, don't do catfish. The waitress said her family tried it and it was no good. I know that was supposed to be confidential. I ate like three different types of potatoes, by the way. I know I could have gone mac n' cheese or grilled vegetables of some sort as a side, but I like potatoes, potatoes, potatoes. See this place as either a refuge for indulgence or a descent into self-punishment, depending on whether or not you over eat. I over ate, and still asked for that Mississippi Mud cake. Peanuts! Peanuts everywhere! I would hate to be the one cleaning that up every night. Haha So, anyways. Every table has a bucket of peanuts on it which you are welcome and encouraged to toss the shells on the floor when you're done. Fun atmosphere but country music isn't my thing. Every meal comes with unlimited homemade yeast rolls which are DELICIOUS! I purposely avoid looking at the nutrition facts because after adding the butter I'm sure I would feel veryyyyyy guilty. Lol. I'm partial to their NY strip sandwich, amazingly good. Here's what I dont like....Logan's thing is their homemade chips. They come with every meal and are not very good. I happen to think that chips and fries should be interchangeable but they aren't. It costs a dollar to "upgrade" to their fries, which are not anything to brag about either so I don't know if I would call it an "upgrade" at all. Eh. Roadhouse teas are good. Three fresh yeast rolls with wood smoked, spicy chipotle BBQ pulled pork, covered with crunchy coleslaw and pickles. The Roadies mini burger sliders were similar and came on the same fresh buns but the pork was superior to the beef by far. Each come with a large pile of home style kettle chips. Hanging out for a couple hours we must of went through half a bucket of peanuts with our beers. They didn't include utensils so had to walk back over in 110+degree heat, staff was unapologetic for the oversight. $14.99 Tri tip sandwich portion was small, meat was stringy and dry on a basic deli bun.
