After a very long day of travel this could not have hit the spot any better. We easily grabbed a table by the bar, got some appetizers and drinks during sunset before tucking in early. I have been getting the chocolate monkey since I was a kid and it has always been my all time favorite drink. If you opt to stay close to your room (Marriott) or poolside, this is the place. Tonight's nightly special is prime rib with potato and corn. Yes, you get what you pay for and since it's my last night, I didn't want to venture too far. A lot of last minutes errands before the night is done, with that said, the prime rib was acceptable with the a jus and horseradish. Thinly sliced cut had a nice favoring, not quite house of prime rib but was sufficiently good. I have not had any other of their poolside fare before. Lokelani Pool Bar is the bar and restaurant that serves the pool area at Marriott's Maui Ocean Club on Ka'anapali Beach in Lahaina. It's accessible to the public, but I'm not sure if the public can purchase food and drink here. We had our food and drink charged to our room at the Marriott. At Lokelani, we got chicken tenders (5 tenders for $18.95) with fries and BBQ sauce, two flatbread pizzas - cheese ($14.99) and BBQ chicken ($14.95) made with BBQ sauce, chicken, mozzarella, and green and white onions, and a slow-roasted kalua pork sandwich ($19) made with Hawaiian BBQ sauce, coleslaw, and taro buns. The latter is one of Lokelani's more local and "authentic" menu items. The food tasted A-OK, comparable to American restaurant chain food. It served its purpose for us which was a late lunch/snacks during an afternoon family day at the pool. We were satisfied. Lokelani also serves food like buffalo wings (7 wings for $22), ahi poke bowls ($20.95 each), salads, burgers (the "classic" was $19.99), and bulgogi beef Korean tacos ($18). The bar offers up a small, but decent selection of tropical cocktails (most were $12.50 and $13.50 each), smoothies ($8.50 each), beer, and wine. During our stay, there were two happy hours where you could get $2 off any drink: 10-11am (!) and 4-5pm. My wife and I thought the food was a little overpriced, but that's higher-end resort pool dining for you. Lokelani / the Marriott had uniformed male servers in shorts with earpieces running all around the pool. Our food was delivered directly to our chaise lounges and tables by the pool, so that was nice and convenient. Our server was polite and friendly. In pre-COVID times, there were chairs around the bar. The bar is square-shaped and wraps around. You could actually sit at the bar like a traditional bar, chat with the bartenders, and watch sports on the bar's TVs. Since COVID, you can no longer sit at the bar. The entire bar is now enclosed with clear windows all around, primarily to protect the staff. Nowadays, all you actually do at the bar is stand in line and place your order. read more

You will regret it.. I know you expect to get little for alot in the state of Hawaii, but I'm not sure if my dog would eat the chicken tenders they served our kids. I am guessing the food was cooked at least an hour before we received it and it sat under a lightbulb. Hawaii, if you have a health department... give this place a look! Cheers.... read more

Standard poolside fare. Nothing shaving but yet portions were generous and everything tasted good. The nachos are a standout. The burger is good. The fish and chips are good. The kids pizzas are fine enough. The salads are soooo much lettuce w not enough dressing. The steak and mahi-mahi combo plate was surprisingly great given it would be $$$$ anywhere else. read more

Lokelani Pool Bar is located at the largest main pool at the Marriott Maui Ocean Club which fronts the middle tower. ATMOSPHERE: The decent-sized bar has stools on all four sides and a couple of big TV's, with low and high tops surrounding it. MENU: Aside from the usual drink menu, they also serve bar-style apps, fruits, salads, sandwiches, burgers, wraps, vegetarian options, tacos, pizzas, fish & chips, and kid's menu. BEVERAGE: Mojito - $13.50 After paying around $4 for these in Puerto Vallarta, it's accurate to say I was in sticker shock. The cup size was extremely small, and the drink watered down by melting ice. As I watched it being made, I thought it was going to be strong and tasty but it was such a disappointment. The drink was void of any mint or even alcohol flavor and truly tasted like a citrusy ice water. Pass! Not wanting to be gouged any further, we all got good ol' fashioned beer, a pre-made, guaranteed expectation, sanely priced at $6 - $7 a pop. SERVICE: Prior to us coming here, we were waiting to be served on the pool deck. A male server (whose name I know but will not say), totally ignored me and my two friends as we grabbed some lounge chairs on the grass. He knew we were there as we were right next to an elderly couple who he tended to. Aren't you at your job to work and make money for the hotel and tips for yourself? Am I reaching for the stars? Since we got zero service on the pool deck, we walked up to order drinks. Bartender Johnny was friendly and professional, immediately greeting me and my friend. While his mojito wasn't the best, he did try his hardest. Once we took up residency on a low top, server Peachie was our gal. She was on top of everything and constantly checked on us. That's how you do it! OVERALL: Overpriced like many a Hawai'i resort bar. It's probably not allowed but I say stash your own drinks in a big tote and bring it with you to the pool. Nick is the best and truly became our family friend by the end of my last stay here. I have spent much time at this bar over my years at Marriott Maui. Thank you for the tv screens showing sports - I've watched early morning football games, playoff basketball, March madness and more here. Happy hour drinks are delicious and I highly recommend the pork nachos. Also you can see some nice sunsets from the spot and they have live music sometime read more

Been here for a week now and have been coming everyday to have a couple of drinks before heading to the beach. Best bartenders= Charlie, Johnny, and Terry, they're our besties ;) higher price point on the drinks, but you're in Maui so don't expect cheap prices for anything lol :/ read more

Really like this place. It's right in the middle of the Marriott Maui Ocean Club pool area complete with ocean views and tvs for Sunday football! There are also tables to sit at with waiter service. The bar tenders are very friendly and helpful. It can get a little crazy but it's a great place to people watch and meet other sport enthusiasts. read more

We just wanted to enjoy a cocktail by the pool, but had to listen to the blaring college football game. Our drinks weren't anything to write home about, and came in little plastic cups with neon straws. For the price, not what I was expecting. Our server was very friendly but we had to drag chairs over from the other side of the bar and borrow a drink menu from another table. Meh. read more

MARRIOTT VACATION CLUB /MAUI OCEAN CLUB/LOKELANI POOL BAR Loved the property and rooms.. Stayed at the Marriott Lahaina. Spent the day at the pool.Pool waitress was horrible. Alicia D.was her name.she had no customer service what so ever.when I asked her if she was the waitress on the pool she told me she wouldn't be wearing that uniform that she had on which was sort of like a blue long sleeved rash guard. She never approached us with a hi or can I get you folks anything.as I was giving her my order she told me to wait, hold on like she was frustrated. She bought our order came back again but not really checked on our section.i had to go to the bar to close out my tab because she didnt come back to where we were seating for awhile.she was chatting at the bar with a fellow worker.took her awhile to realize that I was there to pay my tab.when I first mentioned to both of them that I wanted to close out my tab.i felt sorry for her.i still left her a tip.Just Terrible service.If you are not a people person, your in the wrong business. We did have Liz the pool server the next day.she was Great.Whether your a owner at the Marriott or just visiting for a day or two you shouldn't be judged or stereotyped I think like we were. read more
