Come for the baklava stay for the Turkish coffee and Delights. The place is beautifully decorated and a ton of Turkish delights and baklava to choose from. They have teas and Turkish coffees to choose from with different flavors to choose from. We tried one of each flavor of the Turkish delights. It's a surprise and explosion of flavor. The coffee is smooth. Don't let the thickness of the liquid fool you. And you are not left with the jitters at the end. They serve water with your coffee. LOKUM Turkish Delight & Baklava is located on State Street, next door to Lilac Patisserie and a few doors down from Seven Hills Turkish Imports (which are the same owners of this delicious eatery, according to the employee helping me on my visit). Only (metered) street parking is available but you may have trouble finding parking if you come on a busy weekend like I did. I stopped by here on a Sunday afternoon, a little around 12 pm. When I came in, I was greeted by a friendly employee behind the display case. I was offered to try their most popular Turkish delight, pistachio pomegranate. It was incredible and you can tell this was made fresh. I can see and taste why this is one of their most popular items. I just love the sweetness of the gelatin of the candy and likes the pieces of pistachio. I love Turkish delights and came here specifically to purchase some. I have only purchased them fresh from a place in Seattle near the Pike Market Place (Turkish Delight) and a place in Pasadena (Aladdin Nut House) and was thrilled to find a place on Yelp in Santa Barbara that sells them. I especially love Turkish delights with nuts. I ended up purchasing nearly a dozen of various flavors, which cost me $28.49 (it cost $29.99 per pound). Some of the pieces I got was the rose petal pomegranate pistachio, pistachio pomegranate (so my husband could try it since he wasn't with me when I came to this store), lemon honey hazelnut, orange hazelnut, chocolate brownie hazelnut, mango, green apple hazelnut, rose mango pistachio. Each one was good, although I wasn't as big of a fan of the rolled version (but since I have not seen the rolled version before, it has peaked my interest so I had to get a few to try them). I would say that this place probably cost a bit more than the other places I have purchased Turkish delights (and definitely cost more than the boxed version that I have purchased at Persian markets). But well worth the price. I was amazed with such variety this place offers and will definitely come back. read more

I've never been a fan of Turkish delights but Lokum has changed everything. When visiting Lokum you MUST order the Turkish delights with the fillings those are to die for. They have a number of different flavors one better than the other. I literally did not have one I didn't like... I loved all. My favorite was the Hazelnut and the kunefeh lokum that was the best I've ever had. The desserts were amazing and so was the service/ambiance. The place is a cute small little shop that was pretty busy the day I visited. The service was great Serkan was very sweet and even offered us some samples with tea. Oh man, how can these be so good?! And I love their creativity. The mango rolled in shaved coconut is my go-to, and my daughter and husband gravitate to the chocolate brownie with hazelnut. These aren't the gelatinous Turkish delights your parents used to get in pre made boxes as hostess gifts in lieu of fruitcake. These are legit. Whatever you're in the mood for, they've got it here. I've been eyeing this spot on social media for quite some time and I was afraid it'd just be all hype... thankfully, the hype is real! As visually appealing as all desserts appear to be, they truly are a delicious! Turkish delights are sold by weight and the baklava is by piece. I ordered boxes of both, of course. I haven't tried all the pieces I've ordered, just a few to make my delectable dessert box last, and the ones I've had so far were SO GOOD. Sweet & full of texture, both the turkish delights and the baklavas. Not only are the desserts such a treat, the interior of this establishment is beautiful! I am an avid travel/food show watcher so when I saw my opportunity to try Turkish Delights on State St, I walked right in. Their display of treats was beautiful! You see baklava first, rolled nougat, and then the Turkish delight! It's hard to decide how to go about this, but luckily the guys were friendly and offered a sample. The treats I chose were so good! The treats my friend shared with me were delicious too! I would tackle your favorite flavors for each dessert. The tiramisu rolled nougat was chocolatey and wished i had more, but my friend's orange was also full of different textures that I liked. The pomegranate delight had the texture and chew I imagined them to be. The rose flavor was nice, but not as soft as the pomegranate one. The baklava I ordered was the noodle type, but I really liked my friend's chocolate baklava. Try them all!! I also ordered a Turkish coffee. I might have preferred to sit and sip rather than walk and spill (yes, on my white shoes), but the cardamom coffee was great too. So... the food and ambiance was very nice here. The tea was very nice as well. I would have given 4 stars if it wasn't so expensive. The baklava are squares about the size of a chocolate and are $4.50+ ea. It was nice, just not $4.50 nice. If it was $4.50 for a normal size baklava slice, I would say "go." I have no problem paying for good quality, but this was overpriced for what it was IMO. But it was good. People were very nice and helpful . The store is a nice place to grab a snack. read more

It was obvious that I was confused on what to get and I also didn't know how it works. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to receive that excellent service everyone received. This explains why I only ordered two since I had no idea what I'm getting myself into. The baklava was a bit on the sweeter side. So if you're into sweets, this snack is for you. The stunning interior draws you in with gorgeous lights and tiles, and the display cases feature all their colorful goodies. I bought a mixed assortment: mint and rose "Narnia" delights and the rose petal covered pomegranate and pistachio, pistachio and nutella, and zereshk covered tiramisu gourmet delights. These five pieces came out to about $12 (priced by weight). Each were chewy and sticky in the best way, and the pistachios added a nice crunch. I absolutely loved the tangy zereshk/dried barberries! Overall, these desserts were pricy, but for me, it's worth the splurge for something I often don't have and don't have access to. read more

After grabbing some coffee a few blocks away, Yelp suggested this wonderful little shop. They had indoor seating and outdoor seating where you can bring your kids and fur babies. They had beautiful displays of Turkish delight and baklava. My boys chose a selection of Turkish delight and the Narnia mix (they love the Chronicles of Narnia). We also chose the Baklava without walnuts, since one of my boys is allergic. It is a little pricey, but I wanted my boys to try something new. If you want an experience that truly is like no other, then you have to try Lokum! For your sweet tooth cravings or need for an amazing coffee stop this place was truly amazing! My friends and I were greeted immediately by Jack who helped us with any questions we had right away. Jack was amazing and offered us samples to try as well as advice on coffee/tea pairings with Turkish Delight or any of the other sweet items on the shop. Jack really went above and beyond and had truly some of the best customer service in the game! I had a mixture of some of the traditional Turkish Delight and some of their hand crafted ones and put that in my photos of Lokum. I paired them with traditional Turkish Coffee and what a treat! The coffee was definitely on the strong side so if this is your first time trying Turkish Coffee then be prepared for those amazing earthy tones and wonderful full flavor! My favorite Turkish Delight I tried was the Traditional Rose Narnia. I am a sucker for Rose flavored items and this sweet treat truly hit the spot! Overall the ambiance of this place was amazing and it felt so warm to just sit and have a coffee and treat with some friends.
