Uniting communities; that's always a wonderful concept. Add espresso and pastries and it's heaven on earth. Many of us may be familiar with Local Coffee located on the NE corner of 3rd Ave & Roosevelt in Downtown Phoenix, but earlier this week they opened their 2nd location right in Arcadia on the NW corner of 40th Street & Indian School Road. Obviously we had to stop by the new location for our weekly Friday Coffee Run The new locations is a much bigger and open space. Similar to their Downtown location, Lola at Arcadia is adorned with various distinctive art pieces. Most notable (and IG worthy shot) is the giant yellow artwork hanging the lounging corner in the back (pictured above). Lola is an adorable new coffee shop in Arcadia. The atmosphere is relaxed and I could see myself setting up in a corner and getting some major work done here. I got a simple iced vanilla latte and it was ready for my consumption before I could even blink twice. The service here is friendly and fast. Plus they make a good coffee. Will have to come back for the food, but they had a good-sized menu! Glad to have Lola in the neighborhood. read more

Take your money elsewhere!! People like this don't deserve our money! They say they are for fair wages but do they really pay their employees $15 hour? Doubtful.. Lola Coffee is my new favorite coffee shop in Arcadia! Great service at the counter, as well as a very sweet male employee who came around to tidy up and check in with me as I was reading. Delicious coffee and treats at great prices. Super cute ambiance, with the background noise being just perfect. Sometimes coffee shops tend to forget a lot of people are there working/reading and play the music too loud or it's not the right type of music and can be distracting, but Lola nailed it. Bonus points for the cute decor and theme they have going on! Will definitely be a new regular to this spot! read more

I'm so happy to have a real coffee house in the Arcadia hood. It's about time. The coffee is great - I have the cortona - and sometimes have a cold latte with their house made coffee infused whipped cream. The place is laid back and the food looks good. read more

Came here on Christmas Eve to have some breakfast and coffee with a friend. They seemed to be a bit short-staffed but the two girls behind the counter were doing a great job keeping up with the drinks and running food orders. Super cute coffee shop off Indian school - great location and parking is usually easy to come by. Their coffee is pretty good but the service is pretty awful. We experienced a very rude barista but maybe she was just having an off day. Made a couple of comments that we weren't too fond of but the coffee was decent enough thay we may give it another try. read more

Perfect study place...go in the early morning or late afternoon to avoid the brunch rush. Lots of tables, solid coffee and eats for sustenance throughout the day. Ample amount of outlets which truly is what tips this place over to a 5. I've spent hours upon hours here working and it's perfect. My go to is the cafe bianco and a breakfast burrito! If you're a student or looking to get some work done, definitely worth a shot as long as you don't go during the rush! read more

I love Lola! It's my favorite little local coffee shop because both the coffee and food (Avocado Toast with a fried egg on the side is my jam) are both delicious! The parking lot can be a bit busy at times (mainly weekend afternoons during football season), but if you go on a weekday or weekend morning, it's no problem at all. Staff is always super friendly and definitely an Arcadia neighborhood gem! read more

First time I went here I was impressed by how good the coffee was and the cashier was very nice. Today I went and there was a petite girl working there, she didn't even ask any questions when I asked for an iced coffee usually they ask "would you like whip cream" she didn't say a word. She just charged me and asked for my name. Not only did she put my name wrong on the cup but she seemed to have a bad personality. I don't know if she's not a morning person if it was too early for her or something but come on! It should be mandatory for your employees to always have a good personality it makes our day better. read more

Coffee is amazing. Most of the barista's have been friendly and accommodating and super nice to get to know. The Arcadia Location has a new young lady and she is not very friendly which is making me not want to patronize anymore. yesterday she made me feel really uncomfortable. She didn't understand my order and made me the incorrect drink I apologized that perhaps I didn't say it clearly enough but I'm in there every day ordering it.She made me the correct drink but was obviously kind of angry about it banging and slamming things around and now like I said I feel really uncomfortable to go back unless I know that she is not there. The young man that works behind the counter is phenomenal and his customer service is right on point! Give it a try but make sure you are speaking very very clearly. read more

I absolutely LOVE coming to Lola Coffee! I'm from the Seattle area and really adore local coffee over big franchise chains so finding this location so close to me was heaven sent. The coffee is the best I've had since moving to Arizona. The most surprising aspect is the affordability. These prices are unbeatable for the quality you get. I'm always greeted warmly, and the service is genuine and kind. Not to mention they always have great tunes going. I love the sound of many different conversations going on at once, and the staff laughing and having fun, while I take that first sip of coffee. It's the closest I can really get to my hometown routine. McKenna, Ari, and Phil are absolute angels and make an impact in my week, though they don't know it, really getting me through. read more

Best coffee in The Valley! If you like black coffee, you will love their blend. It's rich, smooth and perfectly paired with any of their pastries! The house baker, Joy makes almost everything from scratch and believe me, everything tastes amazing! My favorite are the macarons, which are seasonal, so get them when you can!! If you like a sweeter coffee, go for the Borgia, a dark chocolate orange mocha...it's amazing and is so good with the house-made cheese danish. The baristas are super friendly, and will take really good care of you. They wont make you feel bad for asking questions if you are unsure of what to order--not to mention they have OAT milk along with other non dairy milks! Best espresso in town! And if you like a sunrise (orange juice and espresso), they make fresh squeezed orange juice in house and their espresso is seriously just so amazing. Lola has been my new go to coffee spot! Most importantly, my latte has always been A+. They are also really quick, which I appreciate since I have always been on my way to work. But Lola's is also a place that I would love to stay a while. It's bright, modern, clean, and comfy. Overall, good vibes! read more

Arrived to the area a few weeks back. Lola is right around the corner from my Airbnb. Being from the PNW I love my coffee. I really enjoy theirs! It's full flavored without being burnt or bitter. Today I ordered their made to order omelette. It didn't disappoint. I wish I would have taken a photo! If you are looking to find a goto spot to meet friends or do a little work. The first thing I have to say is get the whipped cream on whatever you order, it is magical. Secondly, their drinks are a good mix of traditional coffee and some specialties. I got the matador and, though I don't like sweet drinks usually, I drank every bit of it. The espresso is easily detectable and obviously a good quality. The baristas are friendly and incredibly helpful, which is great because my boyfriend is on the hunt to find the perfect way to make caffeinated chocolate milk without it tasting too much like coffee and the baristas were happy to help. He loved his drink as well read more

This is such a welcome addition over in this neighborhood! I love the original Lola in downtown! This one is a really open concept plan inside, and the coffee is great ( I typically just get a cappuccino though) they also do make your own breakfast sandwiches. I've had a few up their baked goods- and they've been just okay. I love the local artist that they hang up in here. I'll definitely be back! read more

I love Lola, both locations and it's nice to have somewhere to get a Cafe Borgia again (for some reason the downtown location doesn't carry it). I love their pastries and their Spanish tortilla-yummy! The only thing I'm not a fan of is the hours. Closing early on Saturday. There were plenty of customers there enjoying their latte. The weekends are the only times I can enjoy Lola's because of their hours and was bummed to have to leave earlier than I'd intended because of it. Other than that I love their latte's, their food and the customer service and I'll be coming back. read more

Am I the only one who went here for the food? I love the concept of a build-your-own menu. Especially for someone who wants to avoid animal products. You have a choice to make your own burrito, omelette, or sandwich. We ordered a couple burritos and added a bunch of veggies in. There is a lovely long list of plant options: mushroom, tomato, spinach, onions, red peppers, zucchini, basil, jalapeno, potato. I was surprised at how cheap it was! It looks like food is only served until 11AM Mon-Fri and until 12PM on the weekend. I'll join in on the coffee fun next time. read more

Cute place! I live in the neighborhood and had driven by. Lots of parking & seating inside, good latte & plenty of food options for a small cafe. They even have some gluten free/vegan baked goods which I know many will appreciate. I'll definitely be back to try the breakfast sandwich :) read more

I am a big fan of the Lola Coffee in downtown Phoenix so i thought I would try this location out seeing as I live nearby. It is a good spot to study depending on the time of day. It gets extremely busy on the weekends because it has decent simple breakfast food and the coffee is good. Definitely plan to come on a weekday if you are interested in doing work here or studying. read more

History

Established in 2000.

Humble beginnings best describe Lola Coffee. Owner, Daniel Wayne began his quest searching for the perfect Espresso back in 1992. It all started with a 6 foot Espresso cart in front of the Hub Building in downtown Phoenix, Arizona. Coffee Popularity/Culture was new and beginning to grow. Luckily, Daniel Wayne and local coffee bar owner Damian Serafine secured the contract. That contract had a whirlwind effect- as 1 location turned into several over the years. For the last 10 years, Lola Coffee downtown has been a place where the community meets. Daniel continues to work behind the bar daily, and still strives for the perfect Espresso. What he is most thankful for, besides his loyal customers is his amazing staff. Each member bringing personality and a connection to every customer.wner sat with the lights low... candles lit, wearing a jumpsuit, literally praying for anyone to lease the building.

We eventually had to flag a different waiter down who was able to help us place the order and service us for the rest of our visit, she also informed us that this other "Waiter" was supposed to help us but she wasn't sure why she never made an attempt to do so after having us wait 20 mins and other tables were being serviced. We ordered Flordian French Toast and Elote Breakfast Burrito (plus a couple sides and drink) which were both really good, and filling. We spotted this delightful little cafe where we were welcomed warmly and our waitress explained how things worked. I placed our orders at the counter, found my favorite (not so common) energy drink and enjoyed the clean and pleasant surroundings while we waited. The Carne Asada fries were perfect! They tasted great (covered in meat, salsa, avocado, etc.) and it was something sharable to tide us over another few hours. I can easily see myself going back when in the area again.
