I decided to try Lola Coffee as it had been recommended to me by a self-proclaimed coffee aficionado and I was in the area. I had read the reviews recommending the Matador and Cafe Blanco, however, I wanted something different. I asked for a recommendation by the barista and she was nice enough and not too outwardly judgy at my novice questions. We came up with a triple shot of espresso, almond milk, and Irish cream which translates to Triple Almond Irish Latte for $5.97. It was strong, as promised, however, not quite as sweet/not the strong/sweet ratio I'd hoped for. It was a good cup of coffee, just not my personal favorite. I did notice there were espresso grounds on the bottom of my cup when I was checking how many ounces it was. Overall if I'm in the area again I may come back and try the Cafe Blanco. read more

Walking in, there was no welcome and the tone of the cashier was almost uncomfortable (no eye contact nor hint of a smile). The coffee was ok and the avocado toast was pathetic. It literally looked like a 6 year old made it-- wonder bread, a very small dollop of jelly barely covering half of the bread & 3 weak slices of avocado. I'm a graduate student and a classmate recommended this nearby coffee shop to study! I ordered the breakfast burrito with cheddar, salsa, and aioli. When I say down and started to set up for a successful study session, I realized I brought everything but forgot paper to write down notes back at home. I asked the employee who brought my burrito if they happened to have loose-leaf blank paper somewhere in the back. He told another employee who ran to his car to get a small blank notebook and gave it to me, saying "this is all I have". Wow wow wow, his kindness to go above and beyond left a lasting impression. THANK YOU, ANDREW! Another pleasant surprise: the burrito! I didn't add any veggies or meat but the eggs were cooked to perfection. There was a subtle butter flavor and the texture was not runny or too firm. The presentation was pretty nice also! The cafe was pretty noisy but I actually study better with noise for some reason so I didn't mind at all! The tables throughout the space are nicely separated so it didn't feel crowded. Stopped into Lola after getting a facial a couple of doors down. I ordered a latte and an omelette to eat in. Both were high quality items. Espresso flavor in the latte was strong. Omelette was fluffy, with a lot of vegetables. Portion was larger than I expected from a coffee shop. Unfortunately, the omelet was missing the cheese. This place is so awesome. I've worked remotely here a few times now, and its great. I love the vegan options the offer for drinks, and their food is good! I am a huge fan of Lola Coffee downtown and was super excited when they decided to open up a new location. The inside is very nice - hip, modern, and comfy. I would definitely want to spend more time here enjoying my drink on the couch or at one of the tables. I could also see myself getting some work done here or having a meet-up with someone. Plus, the baristas were very friendly and nice. I ordered a small vanilla latte and a bag of espresso beans. My drink was made in a timely manner and was delicious. Wow! LOVE this coffee shop! We're visiting Phoenix and I can't believe I haven't found this place before now in all our previous visits. But I am hooked! First of all, as some previous Yelpers have pointed out, the vibe is great, it's large and comfortable; secondly, the coffee really is excellent. And thirdly, the service is warm and friendly. I am really happy with all of the staff I've worked with in the last couple of days (I visited yesterday for the first time and returned today because I am HOOKED!). They were very accommodating when I asked for iced decaf, let alone today I asked for a half caffeinated iced coffee, and instead of the cold dismissive snobby attitude I sometimes get at other coffee shops, I just got a warm receptive "Sure, no problem" here! I don't want that to go unnoticed. It's kind of a big deal to me. Now, it's the iced Blanco that hooked me, it's definitely a sweeter drink (I asked for it iced) but not too sweet for me. And that ESPRESSO WHIPPED CREAM is not to be missed! In fact, I noticed another Yelper said "Do NOT, and I repeat, do NOT skip the whipped cream." He was right. I typically do skip it on my iced drinks but here you'd be crazy to skip it. It is absolutely delicious. Don't forget to ask for a plastic spoon if you get it to go, so you can scoop it out of there at the end before you finish the drink. I will definitely return here many times when in Phoenix. This used to be my favorite place for breakfast burritos, but for the past few months, the cook just puts whatever ingredients he feels like regardless of what you ordered. Several times, I've gotten vegetarian (no meat) burritos even though I've asked for chorizo. Once, I bit into my burrito to find a huge piece of bacon. As I really don't like bacon, I asked him if he had given me the wrong burrito. He said that it was mine, he just accidentally put some bacon in it. Last weekend, I ordered two burritos. One bacon and one chorizo, potatoes, onions and no cheese. They were both bacon, had cheese, and no onions. The noise level is pretty loud, which made it hard to have a conversation with the person sitting next me. This wouldn't be the place to take a video call, but we did see a few people with laptops. The service was good. The employees helped us when we had questions about the menu, but didn't seem overly friendly either. Makes sense- it was pretty early on a Saturday. I don't blame them! The food and coffee were also good. I enjoyed the mocha but couldn't finish the medium size (it was pretty rich). I would give a five, because I truly adore this place. It just feels as if the Arcadia location is treated like a step child instead of an actual location of theirs. As of late these last few months, management refuses to restock the Arcadia location with necessities. For months now they've ran out of oat milk and maple syrup. I've been going to Lola for 10 years now, every single day. I've been a patron of Lola since Daniel was the one behind the counter making the coffee. I went every single day for five years to the downtown location and now every single day for five years to the Arcadia location. There's just a night and day difference between downtown and Arcadia, because management treats Arcadia like an unimportant location. The staff is amazing, I love the barista's, I will never have anything bad to say about them. They make my day, every single day that I go in. It's just the management that either refuses to restock cause the Arcadia location or is just lazy to restock the Arcadia location. And don't even get me started on the lack of pastries at Arcadia, in comparison to the downtown location. And why is there still no active standing manager of Arcadia?
