I never got the chance to hit up the Bay Shore location before it closed, so I was excited to finally check this out. First off, the place is stunning--total Instagram goals. The ambiance is everything. Honestly, they had me at "girl dinner"--I mean, $25 for a martini, Caesar salad, and truffle fries? Yes, please. I went subbed mine with a cosmopolitan. I'm a total sucker for a good charcuterie board, we had to order that, too. I also grabbed a lemon drop, and we ended the night by splitting the cannoli crumb cake. Our bartender Michael was a doll. Answering our questions and offering to take pics for us. Such a solid spot. Definitely keeping this in mind for a future date night! Now only if I had a date ‍‍

The staff was nothing short of amazing. Anthony was our server and he was absolutely outstanding!! Very attentive and really went above and beyond. We were even given free shots, which was a nice surprise! The food came out in a timely manner and everything was so delicious. I truly enjoyed my experience here and will definitely be back!

It's more of a thick stew. However, I'm trying to get used to this concept. Locale does the new version of this as good as you could possibly do it. The flavor is actually authentic to the way my grandmother used to make it. It's just thinner. I'm sure a lot of you have never had this any other way, so it won't be a big deal. That being said I 100% recommend it. As referenced in my early review, I had Nonna's meatball as well. This is a 100% authentic delicious Italian meatball. My opinion is unfettered. This is a fantastic Italian restaurant and you guys should all check it out.

We came specifically because of all the recent buzz about their New Haven-style pizza. We've been to New Haven many, many times, and unfortunately, while the attempt is definitely there, New Haven it is not. If you've never had the real thing in New Haven, you might think, "Okay, I get it," but the South Shore of Long Island is still a long way from New Haven, Connecticut. The Bambinos were tasty, but the best thing we had was the Chicken Alla Vodka with fresh mozzarella. Thin-cut breaded and fried chicken with fresh mozz -- really good. Unfortunately, the vodka sauce itself was a little bit of a letdown. Overall, we weren't disappointed. There were some good bites, the staff was solid, and there's plenty to choose from. Definitely worth stopping in if you're passing through Bayport, but I wouldn't make the trip expecting a true New Haven pizza experience.

My salad had crushed croutons mixed in with the lettuce (I'm gluten free for medical reasons) and I couldn't pick them out. Her burger was well done, no bun, and the food have her a stomachache. On top of that, they didn't give us any cutlery or napkins. Our food was given to us in black tied plastic bags, and we didn't check because we were ready to leave due to the passive aggressive hostility of the owner and the other customers eating by the bar. Our orders combined came out to $45, plus her tip. We ended up throwing out most of the food. This was my friend's first, and last time coming to Avino's, and this is my last time. Overpriced low quality food that the staff can't get right. Don't eat here.

I wrote this letter on how Lombardi's was, and got NO RESPONSE, I recommend you don't go! that's my review I am writing regarding a very disappointing experience my family and I had at your restaurant on Aug 8th. What makes this especially upsetting is that this dinner was to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday. I had planned this special family dinner well in advance so that my mother could celebrate her milestone birthday surrounded by her children and family. I made a 7:00 PM reservation well in advance for a party of seven, which included my 80-year-old mother, my children and their spouses, and a five-year-old child. One member of our party was also very pregnant. On the morning of our reservation, I received a call from the restaurant confirming that we would be dining inside. When we arrived, however, we were told that our table was actually outside. I explained that this was not acceptable because of the heat and, most importantly, because my 80-year-old mother could not safely or comfortably sit outside in those conditions, and one member of our party was very pregnant. Rather than being met with understanding, I was spoken to quite rudely and told that we would have to wait. I explained that I certainly hoped we would not have to wait a very long time, at which point I was suddenly told that a table was available for us. Unfortunately, the problems continued throughout the evening. It took approximately 30 minutes before anyone took our order for drinks and appetizers. Then, it was more than another hour before our dinner orders were taken. We ultimately did not leave the restaurant until almost 10:30 PM--approximately three and a half hours for dinner. For a reservation made well in advance, this was completely unreasonable. More importantly, this was my mother's 80th birthday dinner. Instead of being able to relax and enjoy this important occasion with my family, we spent a significant portion of the evening waiting. There was also no children's menu. We asked if you could simply prepare buttered noodles and fries for the five-year-old in our party, and we were shocked to see that we were charged $20 for that meal. Our water glasses were also not refilled throughout the meal, and we had to deal with very slow and inattentive service for the entire evening. The final bill was approximately $555, and despite everything that happened, we still left a generous tip. I did this because I understand that the server has a difficult job, and I did not feel it was appropriate to punish the server for what was, in my opinion, a much larger issue with the overall restaurant experience. I have to be honest: I left extremely disappointed. I went to your restaurant expecting to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday and create a wonderful family memory. Instead, the evening was overshadowed by an argument over our seating, the way I was spoken to when I raised a very legitimate concern about my elderly mother and pregnant family member, extremely long waits, inattentive service, and a $20 charge for a simple child's meal. Three and a half hours for dinner, after making a 7:00 PM reservation well in advance, is simply unacceptable--especially for a special birthday celebration. I am not someone who enjoys writing complaints, but I feel strongly that management should know exactly what happened. I would appreciate a response regarding this experience and how you intend to address it. I hope you will take my concerns seriously. My mother's 80th birthday was an important milestone, and unfortunately, our experience at your restaurant was not the celebration we had planned or deserved. read more

Girls' lunch + a 60th birthday = Lombardi's on the Bay delivering in every way! My girlfriends and I recently celebrated our dear friend's 60th birthday lunch at Lombardi's, and I have to say -- this place absolutely delivered. Even though it was chilly outside, we scored a gorgeous window table overlooking the most beautiful sunny day. The view alone had us all saying we need to come back when the outdoor seating opens up -- that's going to be absolutely stunning in the warmer months. The ambiance of the dining room is warm, lively, and just the right kind of fun for a birthday celebration. Now, I won't say exactly how many "Sex on the Bay" cocktails were consumed... but let's just say they may have been a highlight of the afternoon Absolutely delicious -- and dangerously easy to drink! I was a little bummed to find out we had just missed the pre-fixe lunch special, but honestly? It didn't matter one bit. The experience more than made up for it. The real MVPs of the day were the guys working the floor -- all 3 to 5 of them moved through that dining room like they'd known us for years. They made our whole table feel so welcome, and they treated our birthday girl like an absolute queen. That kind of genuine hospitality is rare, and it truly made the afternoon feel special. Now -- the food. Fresh, consistent, and flat-out delicious. I ordered the seafood salad, which, as any seafood salad lover knows, can be a gamble. Done wrong, it gets "fishy" fast and just turns you off entirely. Not here. This dish brought me back -- perfectly prepared, incredibly fresh, and every bite reminded me why I love seafood in the first place. I'm already planning my return just for that salad. Huge shoutout to the crew who took such great care of us that afternoon -- I'd love to name you all, but between the laughs and the Bay Breezes... the names escape me You know who you are, and you were wonderful. We were supposed to have our wedding at Lombardi's on the Bay, and due to NYS mandated COVID restrictions we were going to have to cut our guest list by 70 people. We decided to cancel our wedding because we're both military and have limited availability with our schedules. There are obligations that keep us away from home quite a bit. We wrote a letter and asked for consideration for a return of payments made toward our wedding, since all but a final payment had been made, and this was beyond our control. After sending the letter to formally cancel we were told it could take up to two weeks, and we were unsure of what would happen. Our Maître d' was probably slightly overwhelmed since, like most businesses, Lombardi's was closed for months. We didn't have a full understanding of what the cancellation would mean for us. A little stressed and confused about everything and not having any clear guidance. We were eventually connected with Jeannie, who explained everything, and promised us she would work on our refund. After stressing for months about what would happen if... (fill in the blank with our 1001 questions). Jeannie made us feel at ease. Within 72 hours she had a check returning our deposits. We went to both locations, and my husband and I are just absolutely in love with the venue. They are well maintained grounds, Both places are just gorgeous all around. Lombardi's has such a romantic feel. I am a little disappointed that we couldn't celebrate our day there, but my husband and I will be back with a small group of people to celebrate when it is safe to do so. read more

Title: Mixed Experience at Lombardi's on the Bay Rating: 2.5 stars I recently dined at Lombardi's on the Bay in Patchogue, New York and had a somewhat mixed experience. While the ambience and views were enjoyable, the disappointing quality of the food left me underwhelmed. Let's start with the positives. The ambience at Lombardi's on the Bay was quite pleasant. The overall atmosphere was inviting, and I appreciated the effort put into creating a comfortable dining space. The views, although hindered by less-than-clear skies, were still impressive. I can only imagine how breathtaking they would be on a sunny day. An unexpected highlight was spotting a local duck and her adorable ducklings on the patio. It added a charming touch to the dining experience. However, the main drawback was the food itself. I ordered the Bronzino with high hopes, expecting it to be fresh and flavorful. Unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed. The fish was not as fresh as I anticipated, and worse yet, it lacked any discernible taste. I was left wondering if it had been prepared in haste or if the quality of the ingredients used fell short. Considering Lombardi's reputation, this was a surprising letdown. While the ambience and views were noteworthy, the lackluster quality of the Bronzino greatly impacted my overall dining experience at Lombardi's on the Bay. Good morning, I write to you today to let you know your matrie de on Saturday night was an embarrassment to your establishment. As a lifetime resident of Suffolk County with family members ( many of them ranging from police commissioners, NYC patrol officers and FDNY ) the treatment our daughter and son-in law received far exceeds rudeness. Is this the image you would like to portray " I hate cops " actual words from your employee, who then proceeded to sit the at the farthest and and smallest table in the back. When the waitress came. They asked to be switched she said sure, No problem.... The absolute rudest employee came back and after his horrendous behavior, demeaning looks, more rude comments they decided they needed to leave. On their way out again this person was even ruder, " oh so your going to leave now " . As a family who represent one of the best in protecting the people of our state your employee should be terminated, we will as of now spread the news that law enforcement officers are not welcomed at " Lombardi's on the bay". The view is the only nice thing about this restaurant. The food was wedding banquet quality. The bread was hard and the roll was tasteless. The salad was bland. Our meals were even worse. My husband ordered a fish meal. It came with absolutely nothing else on the plate. For $30, it should've at least come on a bed of rice or with with a side of vegetable. But no, that was extra! My meal was veal cutlet parmigiana. It was 2 huge pieces of veal that were drowning in sauce. The meal was tasteless and the veal was chewy. For $32, instead of serving two huge pieces of meat that almost didn't fit on the plate, they should've offered a small portion of pasta on the side. But no, that was extra too. Needless to say, neither of us was able to eat our meals and did not even try for dessert. I would not recommend this restaurant if you are looking for fine food at a good price. read more

We last Sunday for our anniversary. We wanted to sit outside, wait was 30min. We were good with that & went to the bar . Ordered drinks & app . Drinks took a bit but were good when finally served . Honestly forgot we ordered app by the time it came . Finally we seated after 45mins . View was pretty obstructed so for that view we should have just sat inside with maybe a shorter wait . Waitress took a long while to come over , ordered another round of drinks & food . The watermelon martini came without watermelons & tasted watery. We filled up on bread , food took so long and waitress never checked in with us . Food finally came & was blah . Chicken franchises was rubbery and borderline cold . Had such a great experience at Lombardi's that I had to share. The ambience strikes a really nice balance--warm, lively, and inviting without ever feeling overwhelming. It's the kind of place where you can settle in, enjoy your meal, and actually have a conversation without shouting over noise. The lighting and overall vibe make it perfect whether you're out for a casual dinner or something a bit more special. What really made the night stand out, though, was our server Chris. He was attentive without hovering, genuinely friendly, and His recommendations were spot-on, and he made sure everything came out perfectly timed. Great location, good food but the noise in the restaurant is unbearable. They have no curtains or anything to muffle the noise and it is impossible to have a normal conversation at the table. Also I do not like the fact that they do NOT accept reservations. So you go there and wait for more than 30 minutes for a table, if you are lucky. And you wait at the bar with very expensive drinks. So this must be part of their strategy: everyone needs to spend time at the bar before sitting down for dinner. And my table was free all the time I was sitting at the bar... If they do not take reservations how come a table is empty for 30 minutes with so many people waiting at the bar?? We went to Lombardi's By The Bay yesterday, Sunday, to celebrate 2 birthdays - one was 90 and the other 94. One of our party was in a wheelchair. They had no problem accommodating us and we were given a table with fabulous water views. Drinks were served promptly and the wine was a generous pour. The food was very good and the portions were huge! Our server Jamie, was outstanding. She was attentive and professional without being overbearing. Watching the rest of the staff...from bartender, manager, busboy and even the valet parking, all set out to make your experience outstanding. They were all interested in your well being. They treated us to a piece of cheesecake which was a lovely way to end our dinner. Great job! Will definitely return! read more

Came here for Sunday brunch with the family before heading out to Montauk after another family friend recommended it to us. The place is located right on the great south bay, with outstanding views. The entrance way and the entire establishment is lovely, with a full bar in the center of the main dining room. Now, I can't judge their fixed menus, but the buffet... was extraordinary. Many choices to choose from. From french toast to pasta, whatever your choice of food is, they are bound to have something that you'd enjoy. If your around Patchogue (lovely village as well) be sure to check this place out. Oh, and most definitely try the napoleon as a dessert. read more

I just had to leave a review of my experience with Lombardi's on the Bay. We met with Kevin to discuss having our wedding venue at Lombardi's and we had a wonderful experience. Kevin was a pleasure to work with. He was kind, accommodating and just a great guy to work with. He listened to what we were looking for and customized everything for us. The Ballroom was incredible and looked over the Bay and it's really a top-notch place. If you are looking for a wedding venue, you are doing yourself a disservice if you don't at least sit down with Kevin and hear what they can offer you especially since the price is unbeatable! Five friends met at Lombardi's On the Bay this past Friday afternoon/evening. Since we got there a little late, there were not enough seats to sit at the bar together. Anthony, one of the servers, invited us to sit outside on the huge patio where there were very comfortable couches and a coffee table in the middle. We could have fit five more friends to join us. Anthony was very attentive, periodically checking on our comfort and serving us some delicious appetizers. Our outside bartender was great as well. The Chef served scallops provencal with unseasoned scallops, there was no butter, garlic, not even salt or pepper. The chef just dumped these tiny bay scallops mixed into a plate of pasta with pink sauce that was scalding hot. The scallops were already completely turned to rubber before I even received my food. I don't know how this place can allow the executive chef to offer a scallops provencal special and then send out such a disaster of an entree. The manager was also unaware of how traditional scallops provencal should be prepared and did not seem to care about the chef sending out a plate of piping hot garbage. read more

Came into dinner tonight with my wife and cousins from the Hampton's. The view of this place is gorgeous. Originally we requested a seat by the window but they were all taken. They sat us a little further away but we still had a great view of the water. I ordered the surf and turf special recommended by our waiter Anthony. The food was excellent and the service was even better. Our waiter was quite a character and made sure to make our experience the best it could be. Overall our experience was Grrreeeat!!! I went down to Lombardi's on the bay the other week with my wife for a drink at the bar. I thought the menu was Italian food but I kept watching all these amazing steaks coming out of the kitchen. The menu has a great variety. I went back for dinner and had one of the best steaks I've had in a long time. My wife enjoyed sampling all the different side dishes that I ordered with the steak. Had a great experience eating Sunday brunch at Lombardi's on the Bay Restaurant today. The food was delicious and abundant. The service and hospitality was excellent. Our server, Haley was outstanding! She was very attentive, we never had an empty glass of water or cup of coffee. She was really friendly and recommended different dishes and desserts to try. One of the best locations for a dinner birthday. Mike the manger was very personably and professional. This was my first time to Lombardi's in a long time. It was my mother's 50th birthday dinner and we had a table of 9. Service was excellent throughout our courses. For dessert the staff surprised my mother with a candle and a crisp happy birthday song. They all said her name in the song! It was so great it made my mother shed tears of joy. Joe and Brandon were excellent waiters. Highly recommend this restaurant! read more

I had my daughter's engagement party at Lombardi's on the Bay and it was even nicer than I imagined. The staff was very attentive and my guests raved about the party. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was just stunning. Jennifer, who helped me plan this event, was incredible to work with and I would absolutely want to work with her on any future parties that I was hosting. I was so happy with how everything turned out that when my daughter has a baby I will be planning her baby shower at this location. read more

We appreciate you!* There was so much to love about this restaurant. The atmosphere was lively, music was great, sunset was beautiful, and the food was good. Our waitress was phenomenal -- sweet, accommodating and attentive despite how busy it was. Other staff members were wonderful too. Unfortunately, our interaction with the manager put a serious damper on an otherwise great evening. We made our OpenTable reservation a week in advance and noted that we'd have our 5-lb Yorkie, requesting outside seating if possible because we weren't sure where dogs were permitted. We weren't being picky and understood it was Labor Day weekend. When we arrived, the hostess explained that our reserved table was inside, so we'd need to wait for a dog-friendly table. She said we'd have priority because we had a reservation. No problem! We got drinks at the outdoor bar and didn't wait long. When another woman eventually seated us, I smiled, said hello and thanked her. She gave me what I can only describe as a dirty look. I shrugged it off, assuming she was stressed because they were busy. Our waitress was fantastic. A busser even kindly offered our dog a water bowl. We ordered drinks and an appetizer and were enjoying ourselves when the woman who seated us suddenly came over, threw water down at the foot of my fiancé's chair and said, "You know your dog is marking up our chairs!" To be completely clear: our tiny Yorkie had urinated on the leg/base of an OUTDOOR chair. He did NOT defecate anywhere. We were eating and hadn't noticed him briefly lift his leg underneath the table. We weren't upset that she told us -- we were stunned by HOW she handled it. Had she simply said, "Excuse me, your dog urinated on the chair," we would have apologized and immediately addressed it. Instead, she threw water beside my fiancé's chair while he was eating and spoke to us in an unnecessarily hostile manner. This is an outdoor dining area at a restaurant that allows dogs, and your own staff had just offered our dog water. If dogs are welcome, situations involving them should be handled professionally. If you don't want dogs there, don't allow them. Our dog is five pounds, quiet and friendly. Other guests and children were stopping by our table to pet him. Had we not already ordered dinner, we would have paid for our drinks and appetizer and left after this interaction. Unfortunately, it didn't end there. My fiancé ordered a filet with a $9 upcharge for hollandaise sauce. The sauce didn't arrive with his steak, so he began eating before it got cold. When the same woman walked by, he mentioned the missing sauce. Instead of apologizing, she said, "Yeah, that can come out later." A $9 sauce ordered for a steak should arrive WITH the steak. He told her he no longer wanted it. She said okay but apparently never communicated that, due to being too busy chatting standing around with others. A busser later brought it and we had to reject it. Our evening cost approximately $200. Expecting our complete meal to arrive together and expecting to be treated respectfully are not unreasonable expectations. I told our waitress about the interactions while making it VERY clear none of this reflected on her. That's when we learned this woman was actually the MANAGER. Our waitress was extremely apologetic, although she had nothing to apologize for. She did her job beautifully, and we made sure to tip her well in cash. That's what makes this so disappointing. This restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere, decent food and phenomenal staff. The person who negatively affected our experience was the person who should have been setting the standard. Yes, customers should be responsible for their pets, and we would have immediately addressed the situation had we noticed. But these are outdoor tables and chairs exposed to birds, squirrels and other animals. The hostile reaction to a five-pound dog briefly lifting his leg was unnecessary. There is a right and wrong way to address an issue. Speak to your customers like human beings. Throwing water beside someone's chair while they're eating and speaking to them disrespectfully is unacceptable. To our waitress and the other hardworking staff: THANK YOU. You were wonderful. To the manager: your staff is phenomenal. You should consider taking some customer-service training from them.

Voila needs to do much better for my business. First, the wine list. Most of the wines available by the glass that I checked were inexpensive, poorly rated bottles. They were the sort of wines I would never expect to see featured at an upscale French restaurant, and being offered at prices I thought were wildly disproportionate to what was being poured. I finally found a rosé that I couldn't find much information about, so I asked our server a very basic question: "Who is the producer?" His first response was that the wine didn't have a vintage. Okay. That wasn't what I asked. I asked again: Who makes the wine? His next response was that it was French. Yes. I understood that. Who makes it? What is the vineyard or producer? After this increasingly bizarre exchange, he became visibly annoyed with me and told me. He took on an attitude suggesting I was somehow out of line for continuing to ask, and answered that it was from Provence. "I KNOW IT'S FROM PROVENCE," I responded. I wasn't asking for its country. I wasn't asking for its region. I wasn't asking for its vintage. I was asking a very simple question for an upscale French restaurant: Who produced the wine? This time he shot back, "I don't know," in a tone that suggested the problem was not his inability to answer the question, but my having the audacity to ask it. And here's the thing: not knowing would have been completely fine. I was there for a nice dinner, not an argument with a server. He could simply have said: "I'm not sure who the producer is. Let me find out for you." End of story. Completely acceptable. What isn't acceptable is an experienced server in an upscale French restaurant becoming irritated with a customer for asking a perfectly ordinary question about the wine being served. At that point, I was done. We stood up and left. I have no idea whether Voila's food is good. But after looking at the wine list and having this exchange, I had very little confidence that spending considerable money there was going to produce the kind of special evening we were looking for. If the restaurant knows as little about food as it does about the wine, I would not anticipate a good experience. So congratulations to Voila of St. James, recipient of my August 2026 Vin Ignoramus of the Month Award for exceptional achievement in answering the question "Who makes this wine?" with everything except the name of the person who makes the wine. For $84/pp including a wine pairing...wow. And the portions were NOT skimpy at all. Complimentary WARM rolls with butter were presented. The brown seeded roll was very nice. I didn't care for the white roll--it was flavorless and really didn't have any distinct texture. First course, we both had the potato leek soup. OMG, it was delicious. Not overly creamy or goopy, but very nuanced and delicate. The hit of fresh-grated nutmeg was such a spot-on addition. We were both oohing and ahhing. Paired with a full-bodied Pinot Noir, which was great! Second course; husband had the beet salad and they replaced the goat cheese for him since he's not a fan. Beets were tasty, almost pickled? A nice dressing. He said he encountered one or two nuts that weren't great...but otherwise, loved it. Paired with a Rose. I do not like Rose, but I did taste it, and it was pleasant enough. Our fabulous server overheard me...and switched up my pairing for my main course without even me having to ask! I had the Escargot. WOW! First off, not in shells, so no fumbling at the table. The garlic/butter sauce was obscene. I really didn't want to eat more bread with such a big meal, but had to do one dunk-YUM! It was served in a crisped wonton wrapper (didn't see layered enough to be a pastry dough), squared off to create a cup--cute. Mine was paired with a Sauvignon Blanc for me. I tend to be fussy about my blancs...I only like them from Marlborough and have often found California's to be too sour. I'm not sure where this was from, but it was lovely! Then we both had the crab cake. SO good--hubby's favorite course. Packed with crab, barely any breading, just enough to hold its shape. Served with a basil oil and a basil aioli with a perfect hit of acid, and I think a pickled cabbage salad? SO good!!! This wine pairing was the only "miss" in our opinion. It was served with a Riesling. I get that the sweetness was meant to cut through the richness of the aoli, but for us, a Riesling is a better dessert wine...but it was a nice Riesling despite it not really working as a pairing in our opinion. Mains: I had the tuna medium rare. Cooked to PERFECTION and crusted with a hint of horseradish that really woke up the taste buds. As mentioned prior, our wonderful server swapped out the intended Rose and substituted a lovely Cab. PERFECT! Husband had the filet Mignon. I'm not a meat eater, so I didn't taste it, but he said it was cooked perfectly to his request of medium rare. I can't remember what wine was paired...but I think it was another Pinot Noir? Dessert...I was too full...and had a surprise planned afterwards, so I just opted for a dish of ice cream to have a spoonful. It was a bit icy. Not as luscious as I would expect at a French restaurant. He got the bread pudding served with vanilla ice cream. Oh. Dear. Lord. Well, I intended only a taste. It was SOOOO warm and chocolaty and decadent. We practically licked the plate clean! The service was incredible. The ambiance was quaint, cozy, and lovely. We both HIGHLY recommend. This is definitely added to our "must take friends" list. Fabulous!
