Giant, delicious breakfast fit for a cowboy. We had the huevos rancheros and the chicken fried steak with biscuits and gravy along with coffee for a late breakfast. Personally, I don't like gravy but the partner is a connoisseur of the grayish stuff - He adored it here and I have to admit it almost won me over to the dark side. Huge, yummy breakfast. They had a couple little tables on the sidewalk so we were able to eat our breakfast with our pup at our feet. I had an omelette which was really big and tasty. I didn't care for the country potatoes. They were overcooked and under seasoned. I should have ordered the hash browns like my husband which were phenomenal. Very fresh tasting. Their biscuits are soooo good. Service was great and they even brought out a water bowl and dog treat for our pup! Holy portion sizes! Whatever you plan on ordering... order half of that and you still won't be able to finish it. I went with my Giant size boyfriend and he couldn't even finish his short stack of pancakes... maybe because they were 12" in diameter each. Despite the monster size portions, this food and service were fantastic. We ordered a half portion of their signature French toast, which was cinnamon raisen bread battered with corn flakes and grilled. It was very tasty, a little sweet for my taste, but I still enjoyed it. On the "side" we had country potatoes and eggs. The side of potatoes covered a full size dinner plate... even us potato lovers couldn't even finish half. Hottie ordered a short stack of granola pancakes with blueberries. It was packed with blueberries and tasted like a blueberry muffin, delicious! My only complaints are that they don't open until 8AM, we like to get our day started early so waiting 2 hours for breakfast was a little annoying, and their coffee was super weak, like colored water. Our server Ken was a delight and helped us customize our meals to be perfect for our diets/preferences (I'm a vegetarian, bf hates onions). I had eggs Benedict vegetarian style, amazing. Went here for breakfast Saturday as I had a gift certificate. The food was good but nothing that we haven't had before. The price was pretty high for what it was. The waitress was not very pleasant. Biscuits and gravy are terrific. This last time I had a 7.99 breakfast , 2 eggs, hashbrowns with a biscuit and gravy and I was stuffed. The cinnamon roll is tasty. I have had Joe's Special, Cowboy Benedict, Patty Melt, Rib Eye Sandwich special, Corned Beef Hash, pork cops and sausage patties. It's too hot in the summer time so we don't visit late in the day. I think they only have a swamp cooler. I feel bad for their employees. I know a new owner just took over, hopefully he splurges for an AC so we can visit anytime! Was in Prescott for work. Wanted to try Lone Spur down in Peoria,Az but never had time to stop by since during week they serve breakfast and lunch only. Since I had time I decided to stop in for lunch. So glad I did. The decor was very western which fit the restaurant. Lots to look at. Music was country PERFECT,,,,. Now to the service. Ken was my waiter and he was fantastic. Such a happy person and so kind. I was dining alone and sometimes that can be a little uncomfortable but he made my experience so enjoyable. I had the onion soup which had a lot of flavor, Ken suggested a 1/2 sandwich . I asked Ken what he would recommend. Ken suggested the BLT with avocado. It was a great choice. The bacon was thick and all meat which I like. Avocado was creamy and great flavor. The sandwich came with chips and a pickle spear. Great amount since I would be driving back to Peoria later today, didn't want to feel groggy. Ken refilled my coke, took the initiative and gave me a to go cup. Just those little things a smile, suggestions for food, and to go cup is why not only will I be back my next trip but I will tell all my friends in the valley if they go up to Prescott make sure they eat here. We are regulars to the Lone Spur. I like to try different things, my wife sticks with what she knows is good. Sometimes I am pleasantly surprised And sometimes I'm disappointed. Today was disappointment. I ordered the pastrami and for a up charge I got the Onion rings. The pastrami was lacking in meat, I guess I'm used to New York deli sandwiches. The onion rings were very good as usual but there were only 5 rings. This is not the usual fare for the Lone Spur. It's still a great place to eat. read more

The french toast had the cornflakes crusted on the outside which made the texture fantastic. I must have stolen half my boyfriends meal, but with portions so big, it looks like you barely ate any at all which makes me happy since I like to pretend.
