Came here on a Friday night for singles event. That means that there was lots of people here. Knowing that they were hosting an event they only had two bartenders for the whole bar. Waited in line a minimum of 10 to 15 minutes each time I ordered a drink. They also only carry one type of white wine, which is not a problem, however, they cannot even keep that one type of wine chilled. I ordered it once and it was fine. I went up the second time to order it and they said they had nothing chilled. PS do not order the mango seltzer, it tastes like a water down Capri Sun. read more

So far, I've tried the Eggplant Koji pizza, Margherita pizza and plain traditional pizza. The beautiful combination of the sourdough crust, homemade sauce, cheese and spices make every pizza dreamy. This place is not friendly. The staff talks to each other and is rude. I was carrying a small birthday cake and was met at the door by a staff member who demanded we take it to the car. There were no signs nor were we told when we made reservations for a birthday party that these were the rules. There are far better places in the local area with better services and food not to mention beer. Don't waste your time and money. read more

The food and beer are always good, but it kills me to get ripped off for no reason. They have a policy that they add 20 percent obligation of tip to your total order if you are six or more. If this were a restaurant with waiters etc.. then ok. but here you go up to the counter and order the food , when it gets ready they dont bring it you , you go up to the counter and get it yourself , and after your are done eating we bussed our own table. Great beer selection at LBBL. Seriously good beer can be had here. it's easily top 3 LB beer destination of our area. but i can't overlook how dirty this place is. A large group or you & your Honey LBBL would accommodate any situation. it's a LARGE space. Any situation. bread, pastry or brewski... they got you. It's not the cheapest, but great beer. in fact, i often buy LBBL 4 packs at my local store & it always packs lots of flavour. It's killer beer. But F@ck!!! it's dirty. I suspect it's the patrons that treat this place as a DOOR MAT. I could be wrong, i've observed several patrons leave their sh@t behind, to only have the next group clean up after them. Every time I come back to this place they add something that makes me love it even more. It's not enough that they have the best beer, pizza and ambiance. KAIZEN! They continually improve with pinball machines and arcade games reminiscent of the best of 80s pizza parlors fused with modern microbrewery concept and great glassware. LBBL is a staple of any Long Beach visit. In recent years they've expanded quite a bit and has grown from a small tasting room to a decently sized hang out spot. The service here is great and the staff is always extremely friendly. I definitely enjoy the beer but I wouldn't say I love it because there is always a miss here and there, which honestly is fine because that is the nature of experimentation. You learn from what works and what doesn't and I commend them for that. The real highlight here though is the pizza. Every time we stop by we have the margherita pizza and it's one of the best if not the best pizza I've ever had. The crust is incredible and honestly all of their bread products are insane. Unfortunately had to give this place only 3 stars because while their pizza and beer are top notch, their service could use improvement. First, the food: the pizza was DELICIOUS! Right off the bat you can tell their ingredients are top quality...I mean, they have hydroponic basil for crying out loud! The crust was crispy, thin and so flavorful. However they dont have many options for toppings, no meat on the menu, so if that's not your thing then maybe try something else. But, I will say, both the options they do have, the mushroom pizza and margherita, are phenomenal! Now the service: we did go on a Sunday which was very busy but nonetheless the service could have been better. First off, they don't have anyone designated to buss & clean tables. According to the front counter this is up to the patrons to clear but then who wipes them down? Luckily, when asked, they came and did it but then are leaving their post at the front counter to do so. Secondly, the food came out pretty slow. The others in our party ordered right after us and got a beer flight and toast (a special) and a pizza...our pizza came out before their flight/toast. Anyway, maybe on a different day when they aren't as packed, the service and food will match up for a better experience, but until they get their staffing figured out, only go in expecting great pizza! read more

The Long Beach beer lab has a good menu of food and drinks. Their menu has several vegetarian options. The staff is great and friendly from when you walk in to ordering your food. I love eating in the loft area, but there is a lot of space. There is a good ambience for everyone including kids. read more

The folded crust on the summer margherita pizza had wonderful chewy texture and the mushroom pizza had a really nice balance of flavors and interesting mushroom mix. STEPH JUDGEMENT: Great beers, food and service with a personal touch. Finally got to try this place with a couple of good friends who are regulars and we had a fab time! They had a lot of good interesting beers on tap so the hubs and I tried some tasters before committing to a full pint of something. We also got a couple of slices of pizza out of the refrigerated case for them to heat up for us and it made for the perfect accompaniment to the beers. Sorry to say I was really disappointed. I was looking for some Live Music in the area and found a "Live" event billed "Live Reggae Saturdaze" - along with this was a description of the night- "We're bringing you live music from the dopest bands that'll make your weekend irie. Rotating artists, cold brews, and hot pizzas--science has never felt so groovyyyy" When I arrived there was someone "spinning" and looked like what you see at many shows before the band gets on and plays. Unfortunately, that was the "Live" show. Had I known I would have made other plans and thankfully I realized what was happening before my friends arrived. There was no charge for my "Ticket" and would have been happy to pay admission to see an actual band, I just do not understand why you would bother advertising a live show and then produce that. Since you have to get it to go now, please do this pizza a service and pop it in your oven until the cheese lightly sizzles for the best experience. You know you like a place when you go twice in two days. Beers are excellent and the variety of beers range from IPA's, to stouts, to porters, to finally some sours. Each beertender has a level one Cicerone beer server certificate that they proudly display on the wall. What separates Long Beach Beer Lab from other breweries is not only their beer, but also their bread. Yes. I said bread. Several styles of freshly made bread are made here everyday. The first night here I ordered a sourdough bread made of witbier. It was the most delicious bread I've possibly had here this side if the pond. Paired with olive oil, balsamic vinegar and butter and the bread was exquisite. If that wasn't enough the baker's also make 4-5 artisan pizzas that are to die for. Plus there are vegetarian and vegan friendly foods here as well! This is a two level establishment work plenty of space for everyone and the servers are very knowledgeable about the beers and the food. You definitely have to come try them out. Cheers! read more

Many places offer more standard vegan pizzas toppings and sauce combos but here they really went the extra mile to concoct a pizza that creates a harmony of flavor on your mouth. I think the dough was off.if you held it by the crust, the pizza hung vertical. Couldn't find a beer I liked sorry. It was like $35 $40. Very expensive for the quality. I will not return. LB beer lab is a great venue! It's a bar with a family friendly vibe- it's well lit, with a lot of open space. There is also a great venue space upstairs for reservation. My group met on the second floor and shared food and drinks. They offer beer mostly with some ciders, no wine or spirits. They have very limited nonalcoholic options, which was a bummer. I was not up to drinking so I got stuck with a slushee. Having some more fun non-alc options would make this place more interesting and also reach a wider audience. Overall this seems like a cool place to hangout. They have games and offer trivia nights. The food was pretty standard bar food. read more

I'd been meaning to pop back in here for a while, because one, the first time I was there was right after they opened, and two, everyone had been raving about the food, and I didn't try any the first time I was there. So I decided to drop by after work last night on a whim, to give them another shot, and I was definitely a lot happier than the first time I was there. They had a much broader range of different styles, and the place felt a lot friendlier (with a lot less of a "we just opened and don't totally know what we're doing yet" vibe, for obvious reasons.) I tried samples of three beers: the two they had that were made with sourdough, which were both totally deliciously sourdough-y (though one of them is a hilarious 1.5% alcohol, which I guess is good if you want a beer to go with food, which, unsurprisingly, it does go quite well with their food), and the smoked porter, which wasn't *quite* as good as the smoked porter I fell in love with at Beachwood, but was still a solidly 10/10 smoked porter. I also got an order of the sourdough flatbread for $4, and wow. Unsurprisingly, it was really good bread. Surprisingly, it was a *lot* of bread for $4. Goes really great with beer, too. I thought it'd be a little snack - not so much. I wasn't complaining, though, obviously. Took a little while to get it, but I assume that's because it's made fresh. Parking is street parking, but they're pretty out of the way, so there is a lot of street parking (all along Daisy Ave.) read more

The beer here is great. They make a wide range of everything from low alcohol pils to high alcohol West Coast DIPAs. So there is something for everyone. If you are into Belgium style beers try their "More Cherries" its bomb. They also make some pretty solid pizza and bake their own bread in the kitchen, so they have some serious culinary chops as well. Its a great addition to the still growing LB craft beer scene. Long Beach Beer Lab has been on my bookmarks for a while now. It's located on sort of a random street away from many other popular LB landmarks so you wouldn't just encounter it, but you should make the effort to get there. During the quarantine they've made it very easy to order online and pick-up just inside their front door or have them bring it out to your car. They're even selling coveted items like rice, dry beans, 3 types of flour, yeast and more. I placed my order for some cans and a crowler, along with flour and rice. I had to order their recently released LB 4.20 IPA along with the Habanero 4.20 IPA. I really didn't taste much habanero but the 2 brews did have a slightly different taste from the other. I really loved the 4.20 IPA. It was juicy and went down easy. During my pickup I noticed the industrial look of the inside, and it looks like a place I'd like to hang out at. I look forward to coming in when they reopen to taste a variety of their offerings and enjoy some of their pizza that looks so delicious. You can get the pizza for pickup now as well. This was the first time I set foot into this establishment. I have had their bread, beers, and even home made pizza usong their awesome sour dough. First and foremost, they have great service with very good recommendations. The beer to go is a bit pricey, but then again it is probably on par with most craft brews. Bread and dough is amazing.
