Big fan of the Beer Lab. Their Summer Margherita pizza is quite possibly the best I've ever had...homemade dough, baked perfectly into a gorgeous star-shape (star-of-david style). Love the owners--amazing people. I love their pub atmosphere (during the non-COVID times) and now I love their outdoor seating. One note: Get there before the kitchen closes at 7 pm. Last week, I took my boyfriend there and we raced in at 7:01 pm (traffic was bad, he was driving down from LA, from a Jewish family so he was stoked to try their food and beer)...and the server taking orders didn't make an effort to offer us pizza / food or talk to the chef about the timing. He's lucky that I wasn't someone else (who probably wouldn't want to come back). However, I am someone who will always come back to the Beer Lab and I encourage all of you to as well! One small business owner to another, just wanted to leave honest feedback to tell you what you did right and what you can improve on. Came in with a party of 11 six adults five kids. Pizza was excellent tried everything on the menu they were all good, Beer was excellent no problems there Kids enjoy the pinball machines big hit Staff was courteous Moses was very nice and attentive Ordered four blueberry slushy's, all the kids tried them, they thought they were horrible, my wife and I tried the slushy's we agreed. Take that blueberry slushy machine out back and burn it Ordered the bread loaf, you guys are out of sides, honestly if you threw the bread loaf in the oven for two minutes it will go along way, bread was a bit hard and cold didn't help that we didn't have any sides, but if you warmed it up would've been a lot better, also coffee was out of service Easy fixes, hopefully this gets to the owner so you can make the small adjustments. But overall, good pizza, good beer, good staff, just a few small tweaks and you would hit a home run read more

Beer Lab offers a nice combination of very good beer plus excellent food that's bread-based, such as pizza. You can also buy baked goods and bread to take home. There is a smaller room with a bar/bakery that is nice and cozy and a larger room with barrels/tables, plus an outside patio. This is a nice place to gather with friends. You can always find street parking, and you'll probably leave with a few loaves of delicious bread! read more

I came here with family and spent the evening wanting to try a good selection of beers and some good snack. We ordered the salad, a couple slices of grandma pizza and dessert. Beers were good but the food took a long time. Salad came first but the pizza took literally 40 minutes, two slices! And they weren't even that busy. The staff wasn't also very friendly. OMG they are slow. 45 minutes for two mediocre pizzas? They need to tell you that before you order. Personally I think they do it on purpose so you'll order more beer while you wait. The beer was decent but hit-or-miss...strawberry is my favorite flavor and theirs was pretty unpleasant (like cheap candy), but the pumpkin latte was interesting and something I'd never had before. The only good thing about this place is they require proof of vaccination to eat indoors. They check your vaccine card before you order, I even saw them refuse service to someone who didn't have one! read more

Loved the beer, service was great, and the overall atmosphere was very pleasing. Seems like a solid business overall.

I like this place. It was a pleasure building his "rustic" looking pine tables. The sourdough pizza is amazing. IPA are my choice. I like the fact that this place sponsors and supports local events, such as, the wrigley river run. Finally tried them in March since everyone was raving about them during the COVID shutdown. Their bread is delicious...the pizza is tasty...AND they make beer. It's a one stop shop for your current and future hunger. They had yeast, flour, eggs, etc. for people to buy. We started going every week to taste something new. We made sourdough like everyone else but it's way better to go to Long Beach Beer Lab. Eat a pizza, drink some beer, and then take some bread for tomorrow. The service has always been excellent. There is nothing to not like here! The beers are great, the food is great, the service is great! I have been to a few of their pairings nights and they are FABULOUS! I love the pairings that they do so much! A night out here with some beer and pizza - it doesn't get any better than that! Plus I can bring my kids here pretty easily too because it's a pretty big space and there are almost always other kids, plus it's just the right amount of volume to where brining a few kids won't disturb anyone. Omygoodness where has this place been all my life. This has the BEST food of any brewery/bar I've ever been to. Their mushroom pizza is heavenly. I want to go back to eat their pizza. forreal. They have games and a chill area upstairs. The night I went to had live music downstairs so my group grabbed a spot upstairs after ordering a few drinks and food. Their donuts were super good as well- they are vegan I believe and the jam was perfect with it. Whoever the chef is, kudos to you because the food is perfection. Apparently it is a bakery too because they sell bread downstairs as well. Three different times coming back home and I still hadn't visited until this last time this summer I made it a point that I HAD to stop here. Their Instagram posts were so tempting with the sours that they offer so I took my girlfriend and we finally popped in. This place is easily one of my favorite breweries ever. And luckily it's only a few short miles from her place. You best believe I'll be a local here once I move home. I didn't get the chance to try any of their tasty looking bread or desserts but their beer was amazing. I had a few sours, a stout or two and a NEIPA and every beer was delicious. Went to Beer Lab to attend a retirement party which was held upstairs. It was a perfect setting to allow reunification of teachers and returning students to honor an icon teacher and friend. I did not want to drink so ordered an iced tea for $6. A little on the high side for an iced tea, but it came in a plastic cup, probably 8 oz. So fairly small and no ice. When I went down stairs to get a refill I was informed there were no refills and I specifically said, "may I get a refill on my iced tea?" I didn't want them to think I was talking about a beer but nope, no refills on iced teas! I did not try the pizza but it did look delicious. But The vegan pizzas are worth it and so are the desserts Their "Long Beach salad" is a rip Off -$15 for one serving of mixed greens, carrots and bell peppers They have added non-alcoholic drinks starting at $6 for 10oz lemonade Staff is usually burnt out and wait can be long. Also, the staff changes every few months for some reason... They are constantly out of ingredients for pizza toppings too... This is one of those places where you feel Like someone at the top level has these "great ideas" but is out of touch with staff and patrons needs. I always get lucky with street parking right out front when I come. If not however, it seems parking could be very difficult. Great beer, alcohol slushies, fresh baked breads and baked goods, and sour dough pizza. I'm sad because I've yet to make it on onion ring day, but I'll get those eventually. The beers here push boundaries while consistently delivering on quality and flavor. They are able to do so many different styles so well. I've tried many pizza places all over Los Angeles and Orange County, minus some of the trendy ones in Hollywood. This is my favorite. They have the best pizza crust. It's far from the bland necessary evil kind of crust one would get at a chain restaurant. The place is not quite a restaurant. It is more of a microbrewery fermenting shop. They sell fresh bread and hot sauces as well. The pizza is vegetarian. For non-vegetarians, you're not going to miss it the way the make their pizza. Unless you're a person who just has to eat steak all the time. The place is north enough from downtown Long Beach so as not to get the bad traffic and parking. I have been wanting to come here for a long time and I'm glad I finally got to try out their beers. I really enjoyed Milk the Raspberry. I'm a huge fan of sours and this was perfect. You get a great taste and whiff of the raspberry's too. The plus to this brewery is that they have a kitchen too so you can order food. We saw a couple eating the pizza so we definitely want to go back for the pizza for sure. I used to think this brewery was small but when I walked in I noticed there was a second floor. They have Jenga and Connect Four so you can play with your friends. Pretty cool ambience and very cozy. The staff is cool too and helps out with suggestions which is a plus. If you want bread, they make different types of bread which I also think is pretty cool. read more

What a fun place! We came to this cool spot in December for the annual Brewery Crawl, my friends and I all wore ugly sweaters and went to a few breweries in the area and I was not disappointed. This place in particular makes pizza and bread from the beer or something like that but it's delicious. We got a few flights and most of the beer was good! They server the flights in beakers which is a very nice touch to the name of the brewery, loved the dotting details. It's an open area, the main area is a bit small but they also have an upstairs in which we were not able to go up because on that particular day they had a special event and it was closed. I'll have to go back and check up the upstairs part. That day they had music not sure if it's all the time but it looked pretty neat! read more
