Had fish and chips for lunch at LB fish grill today. The cashier taking order was efficient and we were able to place our order quickly. The food was sub par though. The fish was under seasoned and overcooked. The Fries were overcooked to the point where it was almost burnt. It was also odd that a restaurant serving fish and chips do not have Malt vinegar available for the customers. The portion of the fish was appropriate for the price charged. I do disagree with the Mandatory 15% service charge instead of tipping. There wasn't much service provided, so it would be more fair to just use a cafeteria style for dining in , similar to other grill fish type restaurants in the area, instead of just slapping a mandatory 15% service charge with little or no service to the customers. read more

I walked in with the anticipation of trying a new spot that had a similar concept to CA Fish Grill. Like others before me, I do agree that I prefer CA fish grill in the sense that you get to split the rice and fries and get more veggies instead of having to pay extra for it at LB fish grill. I ordered the sea bass and I was told that I had the local kind so it wasn't the fat, artic kind I was used to. But that's okay. They were really nice about it and we enjoyed all our food. I was a big fan of the original one in Long Beach way before Covid but this branch is so much advanced in term of services and the smooth flow not to mention that they still have no liquor license like the original one but I was approved! I was put on to this little gem at the recommendation of my parents. They had been obsessed with the place ever since stumbling upon it a month prior and couldn't stop talking about it. After stopping by myself, I can absolutely see why. First off, when it comes to fish grills in the South Bay Area, they're always lacking something. Lord knows that California Fish Grill hasn't been the same in many years, and even my long time favorite Blue Salt Fish Grill has been put to shame after my experience with Long Beach Fish Grill. My younger brother and I went for a late lunch, early dinner so he could show me the ropes, as he's been with my parents many times. The area the restaurant is located in is a tiny little hidden gem that reminds me of a smaller version of The Point in El Segundo, but it's so tucked away that you almost could miss it. The decor in the restaurant is very cute and welcoming, as are the staff members that make the extra effort to make you feel important. I started with the clam chowder and it was delicious. Especially paired with the oyster crackers and a little bit of hot sauce, it really hit the spot with how rich and creamy it was. For my brother's entree, he ordered a grilled Mahi Mahi plate with Cajun garlic butter, and double fries. I'm so glad he did too, because those fries were awesome, especially when paired with the chipotle aioli he requested. Since it was my first time trying this place, our server recommended that I have the sauces on the side for my fish tacos as that's not typically how they prepare them. I ordered one Mahi Mahi taco and one salmon taco, both grilled, as I've never really been a fan of battered fish tacos. These tacos were amazing. I paired the salmon taco with teriyaki sauce which was perfect, and the Mahi Mahi taco I paired with Cajun garlic butter... When I tell you their Cajun garlic butter sauce has everyone beat by a long shot!!! I mean it!!! Not too greasy, not too salty, fully flavorful. I was thoroughly pleased by my decisions, but am confident you cannot go wrong with anything that you order here. If it weren't for me living a little ways out the way, I would be back here at least once a week, as my parents have been since they've discovered it. NOT to mention the service, top tier! I cannot say enough about how they all went above and beyond to make sure everything was up to par like they cooked it for friends and family. Here's another great option to eat at The Enclave. We enjoyed our catfish special with grilled zucchini and coleslaw. I thought the clam chowder was the best I've had in a long time. I'm definitely going back for another bowl. The place was pretty, bright and clean. The workers were so nice and made sure the place was clean as well as the tables when customers leave. The grease for the fries must not be hot enough, the fries aren't cooked long enough, and the grease from the fries isn't drained. This place is a scam, so many more better places at Enclave to eat please take your money somewhere else and if you do go don't dine in. They charge you %15 automatic dining gratuity. Fine print on menu and small writing on iPad when you pay. I had lunch here today, mahi-mahi fish tacos plate, and immediately noticed my face getting hot and swollen and then my face and entire torso became bright red so I had a bad reaction to the fish however it's not because I am allergic. I have had mahi-mahi hundreds of times in my life and never had a bad reaction. As the minutes went on it became worse and my heart started racing so I had to go to the ER which I'm sure will ultimately cost me thousands of dollars all because I trusted that a fish grill could make safe fish tacos. I did call and notify someone that worked there that they need to take that fish off the shelves. Perhaps they are not refrigerating it properly and maybe it doesn't happen frequently but that was very scary and with my ER bill will be a very expensive lunch. I would definitely not go back again. But I wouldn't go back because the food is flavorless & barely salted if any. I ordered: 1 shrimp taco, 1 rockfish plate with sweet potato fries (all plates come with coleslaw & "garlic" bread), shrimp skewer plate, wagyu burger plate with fries, and blackened catfish plate. The shrimp were severely over cooked, I remember the person saying that they marinated it in something & lemon? And then on top of that grilling them... rubbery, we couldn't even finish it. The shrimp taco NO flavor, not even with the whole sauce pores on it :( I added salt and it was basic. The bread was basic, didn't really taste garlic at all. The burger was ok. Fries were the thin kind, but the problem was they were brown and over cooked. Long Beach Fish Grill, please fix it and do better. I recommend that you should learn to not over cook shrimp at the least since you're a fish grill, and if you don't want to salt your food more, then at least make your sauces that go on your food more flavorful. read more

Dishonest establishment. I bought two salmon salads and a large clam chowder. With tax and tip, it came out to $61.94. As I was sitting outside of the restaurant waiting for my order, I was made aware by a small chalkboard easel standing on the ground that they were running a summer promo stating if you spend $20 you get a $5 gift card or if you spend $40 you get a $10 card. When I picked up my order, I asked the server if I can get the gift card since my order qualified for the promo. He told me "no" and he could only have done it when he was ringing me up. I told him that makes absolutely no sense. He continues to explain that "you had to ask at the time I ordered." Are you kidding me?? Who would know to ask? You are running a promo but, only honor it if people catch your little sign? The sign does not even tell you to ask for it. A local business that finds a way to try and scam people?
