I walked in at 10:40, and the worker said that he won't make our food because it will take longer than 20 minutes. I think that if the business is open, they should not refuse to make burgers because they " close soon". Overall not a good experience here because of the negligence and disregard of the business hours and professionalism. read more

My family used to cherish occasional visits to the A&W near us. It's been gone a long time, but when one of us saw an A&W facility in downtown Newport that instantly drew the crowd to call out for root beer floats. And so we visited. A&W is just a partner in this restaurant, as they share it with Long John Silver's. The restaurant wasn't especially clean, we noticed, but we were able to place our orders quickly and then found a booth that was neater than the rest. Then the real disappointment began. They no longer give out chilled mugs; everything came in LJS disposable cups. The root beer inside seemed quite watered down, and the cup was only about two-thirds full of liquid. My cup had a reasonable amount of soft serve vanilla inside, but other members of our party received far, far less ice cream. One person never even found any sign of ice cream in their float. We didn't have any food here, so whether or not it might be good is beyond me. But if the quality of our drinks or the state of the dining room are representative of what else this place offers, then go elsewhere. read more

I would not even give this a 1 star if there was an option for zero. They false advertise for starters. They advertise their kids meals with applesauce and choice of kids drink or milk. It does not say choice of fries or applesauce. But after we ordered they told us they do not offer milk. So we chose apple juice. Which is not Apple juice at all, its apple white grape juice. We got fries with it and when I took it back was told they didn't offer applesauce. So nothing on the menu was what was actually offered. This place is a joke read more

ZERO rating here. $57 worth of food ordered in the drive thru, pulled to the window to pay and both women had their mandated masks down around their chin. Cancelled transaction. Their manager Jackie who was one of the ones with the mask being used as a chin strap told me "it's hard to talk with these masks on". Do you know what else makes talking hard? COVID! First of all this is not just a Long John Silvers it also has an A&W also know as a Fish and Float. As good as any other LJS I've eaten at the dining area was clean and you can watch the food being prepared. The order was accurate and served in a timely fashion, fresh and hot, although a little salty, but I ate it all. My son had a burger and root beer float and loved it. It was as we expected and will be returning when we have the taste for Fish and Floats. read more

I asked for dipping sauce twice, even after asking me again it was not included when I opened my order, which btw, was to go and therefore, it wasn't like I could just walk back to the counter and get it. This was not by any means the 1st time i have experienced similar service either. I occasionally go back b/c I like the food. But, the service especially combined with the expense vs. other fast (NOT) food places always leaves me frustrated. read more

do not eat here! with hepatitis being spread around highly from fast food restaurants, its no wonder, the carelessness i saw in the employees here tonight i'm astounded! i watched the employees make other people's food, as i was waiting for mine, i was horrified to see that none of the employees were wearing gloves! 1 employee i watched makes a hamburger with no gloves, itched his nose them finished making the hamburger then i watched him walk it out on the dirty tray and hand it to customers, then come back to kitchen space and make more food without washing his hands or putting on gloves! i zeroed in on the manager because i thought for sure she didnt know and i was going to make sure she knew, well i spotted her in the kitchen and she was making my husband shrimp tacos with no gloves on! i told the cashier that i would like for her to tell them to wash their hands and put gloves on while making my food, she went back there and told them they all looked totally pissed off but still did not put gloves on and they tried to serve me that food, i asked for my money back and we got out of there! i'm not from that town thank god but if you are dont go eat there! i asked the cashier if they were required to wear gloves she said no, which i already knew was a lie because i know all know all food handling procedures! i'm absolutely disgusted with what i saw and i feel sick to my stomach knowing that they're serving hundreds of people each day without safety in mind! the health department and corporate is my next call in the morning! also i snapped pics of them not wearing gloves and preparing food there is no lying their way out of this. read more
