Went to get a lobster bites platter. It's $10 it had one piece of fish 6 tiny lobster bites and two dixie cups they call sides.

a tray of food on a table

I apologize I did not catch their names. The gentleman and a younger woman working at noon on Aug 6 were extremely helpful, nice, and caring. This was the first time I've been to an LJS in probably 10 years. The last time I went to an LJS myself and friend got food poisoning and ironically that location closed 6-8 months later. Now that I live near another location I decided to give it a try again. I got the sampler and the food was hot and fresh and I only waited a couple of minutes. The store was clean as well. This trip and location maybe have put my faith back in LJS

If you do their survey, and buy a large drink, you get a free fish & FF.

I was here Saturday (13/16), with a companion about 7:15 p.m. we were greeted promptly and warmly,, end of orders taken right away. We ordered a #2 and a #5 platter. I don't know if it was my mistake, but when. Two number two platters., which was on the receipt. I went to the counter, and politely told them I wanted number 5 platter, and that I would pay the difference. They very nicely refused to accept my money, gave me the 6 shrimp, and let me keep the chicken, too. Everything was golden brown, not dripping grease, and my Cole slaw was creamy deliciousness. Even my green beans were decent (not mushy). They had a Christmas tree inside the door, and Christmas lights, Garland, and stockings with employees' names decorating the dining room. Today I got a (free after doing their survey (on receipt) piece of fish and fries. It was a sizeable piece of fish and a good portion of fries. The fish was fresh, flaky, and delicious and was golden brown. Although on the french fries were okay, they would have been much better a bit crispier. The fact that they weren't greasy was great. I tried their tartar sauce, but for me it was pretty bland. Again, the crew was friendly and quick. I wanted to add a crab cake to my meal, but the cashier said that it would take 4 minutes because they're made fresh to order. I'll try those another day. Ultimately, decent fast food and a decent price, with nice employees. Gotta love that, especially this time of year!

We started with the bruschetta appetizer, which was absolutely delicious. For dinner, I had the chicken marsala, and the portion was huge with incredible flavor. My husband ordered the filet and lobster tail, and both were cooked perfectly. We were seated on the porch, where we enjoyed a beautiful view and a great breeze that made the evening even more enjoyable. Between the excellent food, outstanding service, and relaxing atmosphere, it was the perfect place to celebrate my birthday. We will definitely be back!

His son took me to my table. The waitress was attentive and very friendly. I ordered the honey pecan crusted salmon and opted for carrots and broccoli as my side. The waitress brought bread and a garlic/oil dish to dip the bread in. The garlic/oil was so yummy, I could've just ate the bread without any dinner! I was also surprised to see I got a large portion of food when the plate came out! Most places these days you don't get much bang for your buck. The salmon was delicious, and so were the carrots and broccoli. My soda was flat and I asked the waitress about it and she fixed it. I ordered the flourless chocolate torte for dessert and liked that too. I wonder what the ingredients were, because there was a bit of spice to it that I couldn't quite place my finger on. The only improvements I think could be made are the ambience was loud. There was a large party in the dining room next to me and they were a loud family with children running and screaming all over the place (I understand this isn't within the realm of control for the restaurant). That itself wasn't unpleasant, it would just be nice if there was some strategic sound dampening. On their website I had signed up for a $10 coupon that never came in my email (not sure if I'm supposed to wait days for it...?). Another thing I noticed on their website is that they charge $10 for a split plate. I'm assuming this means if you come as two people and decide to order one plate of food but split it, they charge for that. That seems really weird. People shouldn't be charged for splitting their food, if that's what that is. They also charge you a transaction fee for using a credit card. Next time I'm in Pittsburgh I'll be coming back. It was nice to eat something that wasn't a burger and fries, since there are so many of those types of places in Pittsburgh.

Our waiter came immediately and let us know the drinks on draft were $2 off for Happy Hour. I ordered the Purple Haze, a raspberry lager, and really enjoyed it's smooth fruity flavor. As a meal, I ordered the fish sandwich with chips, since upgrading to fries was an extra $3. The sandwich came out within 10mins, freshly hot and fried crispy. They split the big fish in half and stacked it on a bun, so it's very filling. On the side they give you a small portion of tarter sauce, which wasn't nearly enough for how much fish was on the sandwich. It was in need for a bit more flavor, so we requested hot sauce. Tabasco was free (other sauces were 50 cents) but unfortunately the bottle stated it expired in June of 2023. It didn't have any spice left and was a brownish color, so I didn't want to put it on my fish. The chips on the side were good, seasoned with salt and pepper. Overall the fish sandwich was good and a large portion, it just needed more sauce or maybe seasoning on the batter to give it more flavoring. For $15, I would recommend supporting a Firehall or Church fish fry that provides more sides with their menu items for the same quality.

We didn't, but somehow got lucky snagging seats at the bar... which honestly turned out to be a perfect spot to eat too! The beet salad was SO good I could've easily ordered a second without hesitation. I had a self-proclaimed Reuben connoisseur with me, and he declared it the best Reuben he's ever had (second only to his own, of course ). It's not your typical version either--no standard Thousand Island overload. The corned beef was perfectly peppered and packed with flavor, and even the bread stood out. Fish tacos? Absolutely a yes. Fresh, flavorful, and just done right. We split sides--tater tots for one dish and the homemade chips for the other. Always go for the homemade chips here. WOW! They had this subtle sweetness that made them seriously addictive. Friendly service, great atmosphere, and food that lives up to the hype. Totally worth it! One quick heads up: there's a 3% fee if you use a credit card, so plan accordingly.

We arrived around 4:30pm, we had to park on the street, but there were several spots available. The restaurant is small with a casual interior. We were greeted and seated immediately. The food was good with hearty portions, but our waitress rushed us the entire time. We said we needed a few minutes, because this was our first time here, so she stood there and just... waited. She didn't offer to make any suggestions or ask whether we had any questions, she was just standing inches from the table looking at us. Finally I had to say, "oh, you don't have to wait right here, it'll be at least 5 minutes." Then she left. We ordered an appetizer, two entrees, two non-alcoholic drinks, and two desserts. She never asked whether we wanted dessert, and reached to present the bill while asking if we needed any takeout boxes. I had to interject and ask if we could see a menu for dessert options. The check was placed on our table before dessert arrived, which has never happened to us before at any restaurant we've ever been to. Then, when the desserts were brought to the table, she grabbed the bill presenter and said, "are we good?" I replied, "no, I'll pay when we're done eating." It was odd because we went very early and there were only a few other tables occupied so, I had no idea why we were being rushed the entire time. They also brought my daughter's entree with the wrong side, but they fixed it right away with no fuss. I left a generous tip and didn't report our experience. She was never outright rude to us, but rushing guests at every interaction is uncomfortable and made us feel unwelcome. Overall, this place is good, but if I ever go back, I would insist on a different waitress.

Its a decent serving size for an appetizer. I enjoyed it. The nachos were surprisingly tasty. When they came out I was unsure about them because any other time I've ever ordered a loaded type nacho they're, how do I explain it, more colorful I guess. Usually its like bacon and American cheese, guac, pico, etc., but these were just shades of white and green. I wish I could've finished them but the portion was quite a bit for 1 person. My only gripe would be the chicken. It reminded me of the meat you get in a launchable. I think I would rather prefer a crispy diced chicken. But that's just me. The other 2 didn't have any complaints about the Rival Stix or the burger. The Chicken Tenders were said to not have much flavor in the breading. The person who ordered them didn't care for the breading. I was also tempted into some sort of creme brulee donut I think. It was really good but I was already so stuffed from the nachos that I couldn't finish it. Its for the sweet tooth folks. The general space is all sports themed as expected. Quite spacious. During lunch (my first trip), our waitress was very attentive, drinks were consistently refilled, and our food came out promptly. The second time, I had to flag down our waitress quite several times to get anything. Nothing to complain about when it comes to the prices. The server clicked a button on the list on-the-table-pay-for-stuff thing, turned it around and left. It showed just the grand total. I wanted to see an itemized bill, and so clicked a button to show that to me. Glad I did, it tried to charge us for games we never paid; in fact, we never even touch the thing until after the server set it up to take our payment. So I waited and waited for the server to come back. She looked at it and played with and said she needed to get the manager to come fix it. We waited and waited, and finally the server came back, but without the manger, though apparently the manager had cleared things so we could pay. Whew. The server also said we were her third customer that day with the problem. What? If it's that common just for the people that check, how many more never bothered to look and just paid for the games they didn't play anyway? It does make you wonder if this is just incompetence, or if it's a deliberate scam. At the very least they servers should be trained to actively LOOK for this problem before presenting the bill to their customers. After paying I asked for an email receipt. It was murder adding it--it appears to really want a domain ending in .com, not .org which mine is. But before I could finish entering my address it said "thank, receipt sent," I guess because it timed out or something; I wonder where that receipt went? Certainly not to me. It then asked for my opinions. First it asked if the manager had ever been visible in the dining room. Nope, even when the server when to get them! Next it asked how satisfied? I was honest and clicked the "extremely dissatisfied" button. It then, appropriately, asked "why?" So I started to type in an explanation of all the things that had gone wrong. Guess what, it only allows a tweet-length explanation, I never got most of problems entered, so they have no idea how many things they got wrong. And it's not like they're going to try to reach out to me since they refused to take my email address earlier. And all this was at the very end. The first problem was they didn't have what my wife wanted. Not an entree they were out of, but broccoli? How can you be out of broccoli? They could just walk to grocery store that's practically next door and get some if they need it. Go figure. Since the mixed veggie they offered as a replacement was so unpalatable my wife asked, when the food was finally after a long wait, delivered to our table, for an additional side of cole slaw (which we would and did pay for). The waitress said "sure." We waited and waited, and it never came. Finally we just ate what they had delivered. And after we finished we waited some more. Eventually the server came back, and started to ask about desert. My wife politely mentioned that she'd never gotten her cole slaw, and the server apologized and went off to get it. After we'd finished our meals. Another long wait. eventually it arrived, in time for us to take home. Then, of course, the above debacle paying I described above. Oh, we neither of us thought the food was all that good. The pretzel appetizer was good, though the "beer cheese" we suspect wasn't that at all, but Alfredo sauce. Weird. And the mashed potatoes were good. Everything else was pretty "meh." Oh, and my wife did not enjoy being forced to watch the bloodshed of some sort of women's professional fighting on the TV facing her five feet away right over my head; fortunately I couldn't see it and so didn't have to watch (I did ofter to swap places with her, but she didn't want me to have to watch the bloodshed even more then she didn't want to forced to watch it. Applebee's gets Fs for all of service, food, payment and ambiance. Altogether not a pleasant meal.
