Sunday, 1/11/2026 - We always love eating at Long John Silvers. We usually go to this one at 7228 Stockton Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95823. But as we were driving around today, we saw this one up in North Highlands. Address is 3605 Elkhorn Blvd, North Highlands, CA 95660. I didn't see much pictures on Yelp for this location, so decided to take some pictures to promote them, since we like Long John Silvers. As I was taking photos, one of the staff calls someone on the phone. A few seconds later, comes and ask me why I'm taking pictures (cell phone still in her hands). I told her I'm going to Yelp this restaurant, is that not ok? And if not, I won't promote their restaurant. She said she just needed to let her manger know. Then I hear her go back on her cell phone letting her manager know. It didn't seem very...... friendly? Maybe Defensive? Not Nice? Maybe Paranoid? ..... not sure how to word the moment. I'm giving this location a 2 star for that. But besides that, same foods as the other location. And we still love it. Love the crunchiness. Love the fried,battered fish and chicken. Love the coleslaw. We miss the normal fries. We don't like the waffle fries. I hope they change it back. There is a condiment table, you can get your own sodas and tea refill, lots of parking, and plenty of stores in this plaza and this area to shop. Attached are some of the photos I was able to take. Dirty and greasy. I thought I was in the mood for fish and chips but I took one look at this place and turned around and went home.

Satisfied the craving but the place looked dirty so made me wonder about the food. Also the fries and hush puppies didnt seem fresh. Shrimp wasnt great. Fish was great though. Its sad there arent many locations anymore or Id probably frequent it more. read more

It's been a long time since I have dined at Long John Silvers, and not at this one. Mostly all that are still open have changed hands and some menu items. The food is average at best and better eaten while still hot I like the chicken better than the fish mostly. Sides are boring but taste good, fries are decent and I remember my parents liking the cole slaw Sometimes the dining area is a bit messy, probably when staffing is low. 1 Star Absolutely horrible experience. I've been coming here for YEARS and never had an issue--until today. One of the employees, a woman at the counter, completely lost it over vinegar. Yes, vinegar. We asked for extra sauce (which has NEVER been an issue before, especially with mobile orders that don't list a limit), and she suddenly tells us it's going to be 25 cents extra. Fine. But instead of handling it professionally, she decided to argue--loudly--in front of other customers like we were trying to scam the place over some free condiments. It gets worse. She actually called my MOM "old"... over sauce. I'm not joking. The disrespect was unreal. When we asked for a refund on the mobile order because the whole thing was so rude and uncomfortable, she flat-out refused and wouldn't even give us the manager's name. I can't believe someone like this is allowed to represent the business. Completely unprofessional, aggressive, and demeaning. I've never felt so belittled at a place I used to enjoy. I came here this week to get a quick dinner as I was nearby. I was pleased to see a nice promo of shrimp. The drive-thru experience was pleasant. The cashier was friendly and gave me my order in a timely manner. He forgot the sauces I asked for so I just ate what I had. The food is not the healthiest as we know but once in awhile it's ok! My food tasted fresh not fishy/old and the fries were newly cooked. I'm not a big fan of hush puppies but this time I consumed them all. I must have been very hungry that day! I've been inside to eat before. The ambiance is usually quiet but with sticky floors. Overall, I'd come to the drive-thru again and possibly eat inside. They closed down the one along Auburn and this one is a little farther away. I hope they open more locations. read more

My wife and I used to come here a few years ago but this place has gone dramatically down hill. Most of the problem is the employees they seem to be upset anytime you order. It seems they like being rude and condescending. It seems to encourage people not to come back. When I was younger I worked in the fast food business for years., So I can see that this is a tactic that they are doing, no wonder I never see people in the drive-through. Those days are a mere memory now, but there is still an operating Long John Silvers in the Antelope/North Highlands area that we ran across. The chicken and hush puppies are spot on to what I remember eating 40+ years ago. The fish is a bit different, but still great for an inexpensive, quick-service, fish & chips joint. Worst food ever! We paid $47 for two people and I didn't even get all of the food in my order. I went back in and said I needed to have a complete order. They reluctantly gave me the rest of my food. When I went back to the car my husband said that the piece of Cheesecake Factory cheesecake smelled weird and that it was slimy on top. So, I went back in and asked for a refund.
