This is the third time I have tried this place and it is the third time my order was messed up. I am not sure if they don't know English when someone says over medium or sunny side up for eggs it means it has an egg yolk. Or if you ask for crispy hash browns it doesn't mean still cold and white. I also thought the vast majority of people use syrup for their French toast and pancakes but I guess I am wrong. I understand why there is not many people in this place cause if you try to order something or call to complain you might want to have a lot of free time as nobody knows how to answer the phone. Food came on cracked plates, meat wasn't fully cooked, only one soup available, out of everything, empty seating, dirty dishes still on other tables from time we got there to time we left, soup came out cold. Fries cold. Slow SLOW service. Had customers waiting to be seated and nobody came to serve them so they all left (20) people. Literally nobody new came in the whole hour we were there. Stopped in while traveling with the family. The staff is very friendly. The food was so so, the fruit on the blueberry pie may have fermented and the restrooms not only need a deep clean but also possible that the urine and feces smell coming from the bathrooms will not come out with a clean. The restrooms are located at the front doors and near the register so the smell will hit you several times throughout your visit. It is nauseating. read more

When the cook Jet is on duty, my steak comes to the table perfect every time.. not to mention there's no egg shells in my eggs like past experience. he is very friendly will come out an make sure your happy with your food.. now my service experience is excellent when I have the girl named Shay, I have had other waitress an they suck! it's amazing how one girl can get my order right an refill my glass making sure I have everything I might need, an the other waitress can't take an order, can't refill a glass, not to mention you can hear them talking about oh I'm outta here I'm not staying ive been here long enough.. not to mention the profanity used by the other waitress, I have yet to hear Shay cuss she is very professional!! Ive been here a few times and choose it over Dennys. There were 5 of us and we were starving. We waited 55 minutes to get food at 6pm on a saturday with maybe 15 customers in the resturant. The cook and manager were in the kitchen fighting, which could clearly be heard. The waitress came to our table and explained how the cook walked out. I get that things happen in the restaurant business but your customers dont need to hear about it. We already heard the cursing. Very inappropriate. The waitress never even asked if we needed more to drink when clearly, all of our cups we empty. A couple walked out after 45 minutes of no food. I ordered a turkey dinner for $11.95 and it came with one piece of turkey lunch meat. I asked for little gravy and my plate was covered in gravy, even on the bottom. Very poor customer relations and service. Needless to say, they lost out on business. Onto the next place. read more

I don't know if I will be going back to this place. My friend and I walked in at around 9:30 PM on a weeknight and stood at the front for about 5-10 minutes before an employee finally saw us and seated us. Our drink orders were taken in a reasonable amount of time, but it was a little slow getting our meal orders in. The food came out a bit slow but was correct. The server only came and refilled our drinks one time only long after my friend and I were finished with our first drinks. When she notcied this and appraoched our table, she flippantly told us "wow, you guys got seated all the way over here (meaning far away from her other tables which I found odd) and I completely forgot about you!!" I found this not only unprofessional, but a bit insulting. She finally brought us the check after a while longer, but it took a solid 30 minutes for her to come back and run my friend's card after giving us the check. It took my friend hailing the server and saying "hey we're ready to pay" for her to finally come back and run his card. The server flippantly told us when she came back to run the card, "oh I'm sorry I'll take care of that right now! I'm not very good at this serving thing." I found this highly offensive. Both my friend and I work at a different restaurant in St. Joseph and we weren't at all impressed with our server's attitude and work ethic. The food was good and I like that the place is open late, but the service I received did not come close to meeting the standard that I expect of restaurant service. read more

The manager stopped by to ask how things were, but she didn't seem to want to know. Our meals were luke warm at best. Half of the grapes in my side of fruit were bad. Unbelievable!!! Tried to take my newly arrived (international flight), family here for their first in the U.S. dinner after picking them up from the airport at about 9:00 PM on Wednesday night & guess what?! While the place was open, there were NO SERVERS to wait on the tables!!! The customers there were looking around like WTF! where's the service?! The cashier was totally discombobulated and could/would not assist in servicing the many existing tables and many arriving people for dinner. Even the cooks and dishwasher were standing around looking like 'what to do?'. Absolutely RIDICULOUS!!! Apparently the ONLY on-shift server that WAS there, quit and walked out on the spot right in the middle of service! The ONLY SERVER? For dinner???!!! WTF??!! Can you blame them? I could do a better job of managing and runnng this restaurant! This place is in need of SERIOUS restaffing in management and retraining in all staff. Call me. I'm available. I went there on a Monday late morning/early afternoon. There was a fair amount of people there, but not overly crowded. We were seated right away, and then we waited and waited and waited. Finally our waitress came by and said she would be by in a minute to take our drink order, so we waited again. We finally got our drink and food order taken. We got our drinks in a fair amount of time after ordering them, our food was another story. We finally got our food after close to an hour! There were only 3 of us, and we didn't order anything complicated or elaborate. When I asked the waitress about it she said that our order is next, the "chef" was setting up the egg poaching station. I make poached eggs at home with boiling water in a pan, not difficult, and not a lengthy process. After our food came the waitress pretty much ignored us, and then I got sick afterwards. I have been to numerous Perkins restaurants, and make a point to visit one in any town I find myself working in. I have seen some great examples and some poor. Not really sure where to put this one. I have eaten at this location three times on this trip. Twice at night, once in the morning. The first visit was during the evening and was great. Good service, the waitress was above par, and the food was on point. The second visit was in the a.m. and, although very busy, my coworker and I left happy. Last night, a Friday evening, was in complete contrast to the previous visits, and blew my mind. It was painfully obvious the B team was on the clock. There was a guy wondering around the restaurant (maybe an employee off the clock?) talking loudly, using profanity, seemed to be interested in one of the waitresses, and worst of all, sat in the booth behind my table and seemed to be having a conversation about having "the shit run to the house for cash", whatever that may have been. After I sat for almost ten minutes, the object of his affection finally approached our table and asked if we'd been helped yet. Five minutes later we get the drinks (I asked for unsweetened tea, got sweet) and a different waitress. We ordered and waited. Ten minutes later, the waitress comes out to tell my coworker that there's no pasta available and suggested a different meal choice. The only thing wrong with my meal was that I hate pickles, and the requested omission of the pickles were ignored. Meanwhile, the restaurant is chaos. Same guy loitering, and an off duty waitress had joined the fray with loud complaints about a day manager and her pay rate. There were probably 50 tables available in this place, yet everyone was sat right on top of each other. Why?! Once I had finished my cheeseburger, I decided to get a muffin to go. When I asked a waitress, that actually stopped by our table to ask if we were doing ok, for my selection, she seemed put out, said "I guess so" and walked towards the kitchen yelling for who had our table, lol. I realize it's not easy to find folks willing to work evenings, but there needs to be more professionalism and discipline in this place at night. On the way back we stopped for lunch and the salad I ordered was supposed to have feta cheese and glazed pecans.
