Our server, Hadley, was adorable and sparkly and had such enthusiasm for the menu and was so happy to be working there! That attitude is infectious! She made lots of recommendations and told us about the chalkboard with daily specials, which they're famous for. We started with the crispy calamari for an appetizer. It came with lemon aioli and sweet Thai dipping sauces. It was so good! My husband tried the beer battered cod tacos with sweet potato fries from the chalkboard and I got the crab cake with arugula salad off the appetizer menu. It was all delicious. Only tweaking to recommend is cooking the sweet potato fries a little longer and having a little more flavor in the dressing for the arugula. But it was all so good! They had an outdoor seating area, as well. Not sure why some businesses don't open up the umbrellas when they're open for business. It just looks inviting and tells people they're open for business and ready for you. We will definitely be back. Their happy hour looks good and we want to try the oysters on the half shell.

The service was fast and very friendly, but you certainly pay for it. I got fish, chips, and cod cakes for $28 + $5 tip. Now, I've had enough fish and chips in my day to be a bit particular. I'm not asking for Buckingham Palace on a paper plate. Give me flaky cod, crisp batter, decent chips and plenty of tartar sauce and we're in business. The cod itself was spot on. Thick, white and beautifully flaky. The batter, however, had little to no crispness. That's a problem, mate. Fish and chips needs that crunch. Without it, you're just eating a lovely piece of cod wearing a soggy jacket. I also fancied the bacon clam chowder. Looked brilliant: thick, creamy, hearty. Unfortunately, it had about as much personality as a damp tea towel. I kept waiting for the bacon or clams to make themselves known. Nothing. The cod bites redeemed things a bit. Nice and crispy, and ironically closer to what I wanted from the main attraction. Credit where it's due, the gentleman manning the truck was a respectable bloke. Friendly, attentive and running a proper little operation. I took the food home and ate it in my kitchen, so I can't really comment on the atmosphere or whether there was anywhere to linger. It was a straightforward grab-and-go setup: order at the window, collect your food and head off to eat it wherever you fancy. Not rubbish. Not brilliant. Just... alright.

The owner is very friendly! He has been open for around 45 years! My friend already ate and was just debating if she should eat more. I went ahead and ordered the 2 chicken 2 fish and 2 shrimp for 2 people. He started making the order the time my friend was still thinking about eating more. 10 minutes later he opens the window saying he made 3 of each at the price of 2 wanting my friend to try it. That was the nicest gesture! If you love fried chicken please don't sleep on this place! Everything was made to order and absolutely delicious! Including the fries! We did a little picnic style in the back of my trunk in the parking lot and enjoyed watching people. This is the pure definition of a hole in a wall mom and pop place! Highly highly recommend
