I had never eaten at a LJS before and was hesitant, but decided I had to give it a go before I gave it a hard time. I'm glad I did. I got a free basket by signing up for an account in their app. I got the fried fish basket and ordered a chicken wrap on top of that. It was all super good. I had never had hush puppies before and those were pretty good. The fries were nice and crispy. The fish was delicious, and the chicken was good as well. Overall I really enjoyed the meal. I am crazy about fish and chips and my meal at LJS did not disappoint. The staff were friendly and helpful as well. I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again. read more

The food here isn't the best and it might be rated even lower if it wasn't for the fact that many years ago I had great memories here and used to think they were delicious. The food and the theme used to be a perfect 9 or 10 out of 10. The grilled shrimp and fish tacos at this location just seems to be fresher and hotter than other locations. I don't mind traveling to the next city if that means I get to have a guaranteed hot meal with great service and let me tell you how much better food tastes when you get good service before you get your meal. Forgive me for not knowing everyone's name but whoever is cooking right now is making the grilled shrimp to order and it is fabulous. I was assisted by front end staff whom I believe was Andres Stephanie, both were tremendously helpful and were able to describe the items I had questions about that I had no choice but to order. A pet peeve of mine is asking a staff member about an item and I hear "well I haven't tried it but I hear it's good". I wish I took a picture of the food, but it was so good, we ate it right away! So we have a date night every now and then, and we chose Long John Silver tonight. We accidentally stumbled on an old coupon without looking at the date like a dork, and the lady at the drive thru speaker was kind of rude about it. I've always liked this restaurant and everytime I've come here, I've always been treated good. I absolutely LOVE the chicken here!! The prices are pretty high here, so if you have a family of 3 or more expect to pay. They are currently running a special here for all you can eat on Sunday between 11 to 7pm. You can have chicken or fish or both with 2 sides of your choice, and it comes with hush puppies. The kids all you can eat is 5.99 and the adults are 9.99...such a good deal! They bring you the food, and they walk around asking if you would like more...pretty nice for a fast food restaurant. I really loved the combo meal with the hush puppies, breaded shrimp and fries. Not the healthiest meal but wow, it was good. The value for $8 was terrific and fed me twice. The fries were seasoned just enough. The shrimp and hush puppies were crispy and tasty. The hot sauce in little packets they give upon request are a must and I prefer this over the seafood sauce. It is good on everything! My spouse got a fish taco as a snack and really loved it. I had been to other Long John Silvers in other cities and the shrimp were not nearly as large. 1 star off as the restroom needs some work. We've been coming to this location for years. The fish fillets are super thin and tasted fishy. I had to spit it out. One gal had to argue with me. Stating she's worked there over 6 yrs and nothing has changed, I said I beg to differ with you, I've been coming here more than 6 yrs. I told her I believe due to covid, loss of income....maybe you changed vendors and the filets are different. No, not at all she said. We had them remake the dinners. My husband doesn't like Long John Silver's, but my mom and I do! After a day of After-Christmas-Sales shopping, we decided to engorge our bodies with greasy fake chicken and fish. MMMM. Just as good as I remember. Honestly, this is a childhood thing for me. Whenever my mom/dad/sister would come to Tulare and Visalia, we'd eat at Skipper's. That's what this location used to be called. Well, it eventually turned into Long John Silver's and we still frequented the place. I honestly just remember feeling excited to visit with my whole family, so eating at this location brings back good memories of my family. Okay, mushy time stops now. 1. My mother and I entered, and were promptly greeted and serviced by Guillermo. Shout out to this guy! He was kind, courteous, and patient as we mulled over the menu. 2. The restaurant was clean. When I go out for fast food and they screw the order up the whole order gets replaced and sometimes a free menu item for the screw up and long john silvers wouldn't do that it was almost 2 weeks ago I ordered the 2 for $6 which was fish and shrimp and a order of fries I got home and there was not one piece of fish or shrimp they gave me 5 pieces of chicken I live about 20 minutes away they sent me a business card with free fish and shrimp I redeemed this morning I got my fish and shrimp and I told I also ordered fries with it and they wouldn't replace my full order it was not my fault my order wasn't right I don't eat they're chicken so that night I had fries without fish and shrimp and now I'm going to have just fish and shrimp with no fries I also put $10 in gas every time I go to Visalia I'm done with long john silvers read more

Picked up dinner at Long Johns on Mooney in Visalia and I was very disappointed,, the fish, chicken planks, and the fries were all very soggy with grease. Even the bottom of the take-out container was covered in grease,,but on another note,, the hushpuppies and cole slaw were both good. I called and voiced my disappointment with the staff and she offered to send me a coupon to replace the order. Unless they do something to improved the food situation I may not go back. Everywhere you go there is chicken and beef but finding fish is another issue. Long John silvers has been one of my favorites since high school. I pretty much lived on hush puppies during my lunch period. This chain has some of the best flavored clams I ever had and I have had a lot of clams. Worst customer service I've ever had at Long John's. Team Leader Stephanie was asked about a sign that showed 2 grilled salmon or shrimp tacos, a side and small drink for $6.59. She said it should be $7.99, went over and yanked the sign down, looked at us and said 'it's $7.99' very rude and abrupt. I'm sorry but if your sign is incorrect, you honor it and then take it down. Decide to try the fish and fries for $1.99 to see if it was as good as advertised. There was no waiting at the drive thru line and I got my order very fast. The fish and fries were hot, and they tasted fresh. I didn't taste the normal after taste that I normally get with deep fried foods. Bottom line if you want a low cost meal that is hot and taste good try the fish and fries special. Customer service was not great. I ordered my food and sat down, waited about 10 minutes. Worker calls out number three when handing out plates. My order number was number three so I assumed she meant me, turns out she was talking about the combo number three. She was super unclear with all what she was handing out actually.
