I can't say enough great things about longboards!! From the initial process of getting in touch with them, setting up a date, to having them come cater my daughter's graduation party - everything was amazing! The one thing I really appreciated was how prompt they were about replying -- I reached out to a lot of dessert catering services and unfortunately, majority lack in communication. Christine was our attendant the day of the event and she was such a pleasure to have. Her professionalism and kind attitude towards not just us, but all the teenagers was so refreshing! Think of it as lighter and more dessert-like version of Popbar, which is quite unusual I'd say (since Pop bar is seen as more "healthier" though it is much more creamier). You choose your ice cream flavor and dip it with two out of the several choices of toppings given to you. Grab and go. Eat and socialize. Personally, I got the dark chocolate flavor dipped in brownie brittles and pretzels. Which, from my perspective, has an exceptional combination of sweet and salty, while also being quite chocolatey. They let you customize your ice cream bar in 3 steps: picking your ice cream flavor, choosing what you want your ice cream dipped into and what you'd like sprinkled on the exterior. The ice cream choices given were chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, cookies & cream or - for those not into the ice cream - a banana. Milk or dark chocolate were the dipping options for the coating. There were quite a number of options to sprinkle on the outside; some I recall were Heath, Butterfinger, coconut, peanuts, colored sprinkles and waffle cone pieces. I had two: vanilla ice cream dipped in dark chocolate and covered in Butterfinger pieces and strawberry ice cream dipped in dark chocolate and covered in Heath pieces. The fast fellow in the truck made them quickly, probably less than 30 seconds. It's a fun concept but as far as a taste sensation it's enjoyable but nothing to get overly excited about. read more

They even have frozen bananas if you prefer. I have tried multiple options with my most two visits consisting of chocolate ice cream dipped in dark chocolate and rolled in rice krispies and oreo crumbles on one visit and fruity pebbles and cocoa pebbles on the other. Both were great and really added a new dynamic to your standard ice cream treat on a stick. Prices are affordable and makes a great dessert to end a great meal. The service is fast and friendly. I've been wanting to try Longboards for some time now and finally got the chance to at their food truck night in HB (where sports chalet and total wine is)! Step 1 - You pick your flavor of ice cream. When I went they had: vanilla, chocolate, cookies and cream, coffee, the frozen banana and a few other flavors (had my eye on the coffee so I didn't scope out the others). Step 2 - You can choose your chocolate: milk or dark. I got milk chocolate but will try dark next time. Step 3 - You choose your toppings! They have so many options AND you can choose 2 toppings, one for each side of your ice cream bar with no extra charge (I love this option). I got peanuts and pretzels but they have a ton of yummy options like waffle cone, Oreo, and cereal killer which is a bunch of different cereals combined. I ate my ice cream in 93 degree weather so I expected it to melt and drip all over my hand by the 2nd bite but that wasn't the case. Everything stayed intact for about 10 minutes (the time it took me to finish it lol). The toppings didn't fall off, the chocolate didn't melt, and my ice cream was in good condition til the very end. The ice cream wasn't too frozen which I loved - perfectly creamy. I'll have to stop by their truck again next time to try another concoction :) read more

How can you not love ice cream on a stick made to order! The guys at Longboard stopped by our company a couple times to host our quarterly party and they were awesome as usual! The concept is you pick your ice cream flavor plus your choice of milk chocolate or dark chocolate and then your topping. Or if you're feeling more healthy they do have frozen banana's too. The best toppings definitely have to the be brownie brittle or waffle cone. Note: get the brownie brittle in a cup and you can dip it on your ice cream to get toppings with every bite! You gotta love the super friendly staff on the truck and the music to entertain the crowds too. But note you gotta eat this ice cream fast cause they tend to melt and drip alot! Anyways, Longboards came as a company fundraising event, so some of the proceeds ($5 snack) went to support a local organization. Hurrah! There's a menu to the side which explains how to build your ice cream in 3 simple steps: 1. ICE CREAM BASE: Vanilla, Chocolate, Cookies n' Cream, Strawberry, Frozen Banana 2. CHOCOLATE COATING: Milk or Dark 3. TWO TOPPINGS: Cereal, Pretzels, Waffle Cone Pieces, Oreo, Coconut, Sprinkles, Peanuts, Raspberry Drizzle, etc. My default combination is Cookies n' Cream base, Dark Chocolate coating, and Pretzel toppings. I've also mixed it with Cereal and Oreo toppings. Oreo is good BUT I got a lot of cookie crumbs on my cardigan last time...does that mean I get to snack on it later? The toppings/chocolate can fall off easily, so make sure to grab a napkin on your way out. Overall, the ice cream tastes light, noticeably not as creamy/heavy as Popbar's gelato. So our company brought Longboards Ice Cream. It was my first time trying them out and I had heard about them before. Now this ice cream company doesn't have a set schedule. From the looks of it you have to hire the catering company to your event and or company for an hour or more. There's more information about that on there website. It's a very simple 3 step process! First, you pick the base of your ice cream. Second, pick either milk chocolate or dark chocolate to dip in. Third, you roll it in either one or two toppings of your choice. They have a list of toppings available outside their truck. I picked cookies and cream as my base, dipped in dark chocolate. Then I decided on two toppings so on one side I got crumbled Oreos and on the other I got sprinkles. It was really good! We loved it so much we had to go back for seconds. The truck works as follows you pick, dip n roll. Yup, you heard me right, pick, dip n roll. You select the type of ice cream you want either a fruit popsicle or milk based bar. Then you have the choice of dipping it, in either dark or milk chocolate. Then you can have your ice cream rolled into a yummy topping, like peanuts or sprinkles. There's a large variety of toppings on hand. The first time around I had a mango fruit popsicle, which was completely and totally mouth watering. Next I tried a strawberry ice cream bar, dipped in milk chocolate and rolled in tasty peanuts. All I can say is YUM YUM YUM! I completely devoured my ice cream. Prices are extremely reasonable $2-3 per ice cream bar depending on what you select. This is the second time that we have used Longboards. The first time was two years ago for a party for my daughter. We liked them so much we decided to use them again for my son's party last weekend. I will say that I was surprised how much they had gone up in price from two years ago, but I suppose everything has, and I had already promised him that we would have them at his party. All communication is done on-line, which the first time around left me a bit nervous in case they didn't show up. But they did both times, right on time. They do 100 servings in an hour, and everyone seemed to love what they got, to the point of several people taking their business card. They keep track of how many servings they've done, and if less than 100 people "order," they will let you know your balance and prepare what you would like, and you can just throw them into your freezer for later. read more
