You'll find hamburgers, including Angus beef hamburgers, as well as fried fish basket with tater tots or onion rings. Or french fries. You can't go wrong with any of these selections. They have different brands of beer and drinks and everything is made as soon as you order so it is scratch. We used to have a Longhorn Cafe closer to home on Leon Springs near the HEB. I used to go there frequently for a quick chill time with a beer. I used to love this place. It happened I was in Boerne I decided to pass by and get a burger to go. Sorry no pictures I brought it home. I got the mushroom Swiss one. The place was dead empty on a Sunday evening. The burger was not bad it is just the bun I didn't like it much. The fries were cold when I got home but they still reminds me of the old location. The set up of the restaurant is kind of the same with the seating outside on a bigger scale. Also it has gotten to be expensive! This is the absolute worst Longhorn Cafe location! Do not go here unless you want raw chicken and raw hamburgers. Ordered the grilled chicken dinner without cheese. The chicken came out in less 5 minutes so I immediately knew it was either pre-cooked or raw. Cut into it and yep...it was completely raw. Sent it back and they remade the dish and it came out cheese. Frustrated, I went ahead and scraped off the cheese to find that the chicken was barley done and rubbery! So sad that you have to leave the tip up front before you get your food regardless of the food quality or the service. Ordered a well-done Angus burger to-go the last time we were here and got home to find it was completely raw!!! The owners should be ashamed of serving this poor quality food. The chicken finger basket was delightful and the gravy was also very good, but the okra was even better. The restaurant is part of a gas station and convenience store but uniquely features railroad memorabilia and an outdoor deck area covered with a large tree so there is both indoor and outdoor dining. The outdoor dining is screened from the gas pumps and convenience store so you would hardly notice. Orders are taken at the cash register with an open cooking area so diners will stand and wait or find a seat and listen for their name to be called. Expect a very long wait. He had a chicken fried chicken plate which he said was also real good but he could not finish. There is no waitstaff, as it is an order at the counter place, but the cashier was very sweet and attentive. The order came out 100% correct! The large eating area never got full, but it was close and they have outdoor seating with plenty of room for overflow on nice weather days. About 50% of the time the order is incorrect and when I call to get a refund I have to jump hoops to get a credit. I called again and asked for a refund and after waiting about 30 minutes, being asked to call back and so on, Adrian said it was too much trouble to issue a refund. Came in for a pit stop, I smelt the food from the gas station connected to it. So I decided to come in, I was in a rush, so I asked what's the quickest meal I could have made, and the cashier with a big bright smile, (who was a good listener by the way) told me that they could have a burger out in less than 10 minutes. She did not lie. She also made sure I was gonna enjoy my burger by asking me if I was sure I wanted everything on it, I adjusted my burger accordingly and was out and on the road again. Bella (the cashier) has far superior customer service than anyone cashier I've spoken to. She shows concern and is great with suggestions. Alright alright, here we go. Longhorn has some good things going for it, not perfect, but good. First of all, my man Jay (hope that's spelled right). Jay was the guy taking orders when we arrived and he was very kind, smiled a lot, and was super inviting. Honestly, the highlight of any service experience at Longhorn so far. We've been a few times. He took our orders, which were scattered and probably overwhelming, but he did great. He made us all feel right at home. When we received our order, there was one item missing, but they were quick to correct that and all was well! The burgers are... well burgers. They're on the good end of the scale, but not the best I've ever had. I've definitely experienced better, but I have also experienced a lot worse. I'd say always opt for the jalapeño cheddar bun, it's amazing. It'll take a 3 star burger and make it a 4.5 star burger. The big thing I would change is on the value for money side of things. When ordering a side of tots, I felt like there were nowhere near enough to justify the up charge. I wish they loaded us down with a few more. Also, the onion rings one of our party ordered.... They got 4 rings. That was a bit laughable. Again, service was great, burgers were good, and the sides were a little too small.... 4/5 overall. read more

I was very pleased with my meal and for the price I paid. I chose the combo special just because if the pricing. My boyfriend had the Grilled Chicken sandwich. His onion rings were tasty and the sandwich was very flavorful. He thoroughly enjoyed his sandwich! As for my Mac and cheese, I really liked how creamy the sauce was. We visited Longhorn Saturday, November 30 around 130 pm. Food was 3 star. The food at Longhorn is always pretty good. The service is among THE WORST service I've had in years. The cashier had her back to the register and was in her phone. They called our order and I went to pick it up. They had just left it on the counter. No one there to hand it off or offered any assistance. My mom got a taco salad and asked me to get her some ranch dressing. I asked the cashier for some ranch, and some man behind the counter reached over and picked it up, and handed it to me over his shoulder without even making eye contact. I placed a second order to go. Cashier again had her back to the register. She took my order, gave me my total, then handed me the ticket. As I was signing, she once again turned her back and was looking at her phone. When I picked up my order, two employees were at the counter where they had put my order. Neither spoke, thanked me, or even acknowledged me. Hot order of onion rings placed on top of my side salad. I've been to Longhorn before and had really good service. At this point, I would say skip Longhorn completely until there is a change in management or ownership. read more

I've always loved The Longhorn and grew up going to the Leon Springs location. The Boerne location is similar but much less crowded in my experience. My only consistent complaint with this location is that it is always slow (you order at the counter and then wait for your food to pop up at the same counter). But then again the food is always nice and fresh and therefore worth the wait. I'm a big fan of the burgers. The staff is super friendly and keeps the restaurant very clean (most people don't seem to bus their own tables). Note that as of today the drive through is closed. A couple of evenings ago, I went in with my family and ordered a chicken fried steak and noticed my order was taken longer than usual. I got up 45 minutes late and noticed our order sitting on back counter and asked the gentleman what was the delay and he said he was waiting for our sides.
