In the area of Boerne, Texas you'll find Longhorn Café. This is a great place for lunch and pre-dinner. You'll find hamburgers, including Angus beef hamburgers, as well as fried fish basket with tater tots or onion rings. Or french fries. You can't go wrong with any of these selections. They have different brands of beer and drinks and everything is made as soon as you order so it is scratch. The burger plate is excellent as well as the fish basket or fish plate, [[HIGHLIGHT]]I do find, however, that the ambience is a little tested with how loud the music sometimes is.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But the service is always excellent you can. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You can eat inside or outside. They have tables both inside and outside for your enjoyment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would recommend This café if you are in the Boerne area.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Zero ambiance, ok burger, old grease tasting tater tots, dirty drink dispenser, and loud noise inside[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But I nor anyone in my family got sick , and we had a good time The Closedown drive through is hard to explain and except

Four piece chicken strip basket with gravy and okra.

The chicken finger basket was delightful and the gravy was also very good, but the okra was even better. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is part of a gas station and convenience store but uniquely features railroad memorabilia and an outdoor deck area covered with a large tree so there is both indoor and outdoor dining.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The outdoor dining is screened from the gas pumps and convenience store so you would hardly notice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Orders are taken at the cash register with an open cooking area so diners will stand and wait or find a seat and listen for their name to be called. Expect a very long wait. The best option is to call ahead before arrival and request takeout but eat inside instead. It looked like there was once a drive-thru but it was unclear if that was still in operation.

A old friend and I stopped in the Longhorn Cafe in Boerne Texas to eat lunch and chat. I had a delicious cheeseburger and some of the best onion rings I've had in a while. He had a chicken fried chicken plate which he said was also real good but he could not finish. There is no waitstaff, as it is an order at the counter place, but the cashier was very sweet and attentive. The order came out 100% correct! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The large eating area never got full, but it was close and they have outdoor seating with plenty of room for overflow on nice weather days.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The prices were on the lower side of most similar places that we've been to. We will definitely be returning to this place!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Walking in the restaurant smelt funny.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Thankfully they had out door seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Longhorns food never disappoints. We all had cheese burgers The big juicy and it was delicious! The onion rings big and cooked to perfection!

Not many people at 6P on Monday night. We stopped for a quick bite prior to a meeting in Boerne. Looked like a skeleton crew in the kitchen. We ordered a burger and fries and a fish sandwich. Fries were uneatable as the were soggy and greasy. Burger was just OK. This place is always hit or miss and I'm just not going to return. Sad as it has real potential in the area.

Came in for a pit stop, I smelt the food from the gas station connected to it. So I decided to come in, I was in a rush, so I asked what's the quickest meal I could have made, and the cashier with a big bright smile, (who was a good listener by the way) told me that they could have a burger out in less than 10 minutes. She did not lie. She also made sure I was gonna enjoy my burger by asking me if I was sure I wanted everything on it, I adjusted my burger accordingly and was out and on the road again. Bella (the cashier) has far superior customer service than anyone cashier I've spoken to. She shows concern and is great with suggestions. She defianlty deserves more credit if she hasn't received enough already. 5/5 burger joint.

Why does nobody know that there is a Chicken Fried STEAK (CFS for short) sandwich on the menu?? It's the 1st item on the board! This is the 3rd time that I have (very clearly) stated CFS sandwich only to get fried chicken. They keep arguing it doesn't come in a sandwich. TEACH YOUR STAFF THE MENU!

Delicious Texas flavors and wonderful atmosphere..... I love the laid back vibe on Main Streetread more

Beware The "Pastrami Reuben"…read more I saw that hundreds of people on Yelp had reviewed Cibolo Creek Brewing and overall ratings were over 4 stars. I should have done a bit more reading and looking at the pictures. We stopped in on a mid-afternoon Sunday in early June. First impression upon entering through the front door was confusion. It was not really clear what the process was to order and get a seat. We approached the bar area and then noticed the "order here and seat yourself" signs. Several people came in behind us and so we felt a bit rushed to order. There were several craft beers on tap, but I was told I could not get a flight at the moment. I was able to get a taster, but with all the people behind me waiting to order, I didn't feel I had time to find out more about the beers before committing to a 16oz pour or lose my place in line. Shame on me for not doing my homework. We tried "The BEST Burger" and the "Pastrami Reuben", both with fries and two beers for close to $60 plus tip. The burger wasn't the best. It was sort of "meh". The homemade fries were good. The so-called Reuben was closer to a brisket sandwich than an actual Reuben. The meat was very mesquite-wood-smokey and then appeared to have been fried on a grill (definitely not steamed). It was very chewy despite being thinly sliced and had NONE of the flavor good pastrami has. The menu claims the meat is tri-tip, but tri-tip is known to be a tender cut. The meat on that sandwich was NOT tender. Cibolo Creek Brewery is in a great location (which sort of explains the prices) right next to the Cibolo Creek Trail and River Road Park and they do have a nice covered outdoor seating area with large family-style picnic tables. I may return to sample a few more of their beers and see if there is something I like better on the menu.

I would not have been able to find it off the main street. It's nothing fancy in appearance, but it was clean and the staff was nice. We did in line to order. It has that old time, family appeal kind of restaurant. I don't know how else to explain this other than it's food that your southern grandma would make for you. It had all the flavor and all the heart cooked right into it. It's self serve drinks and silverware, etc. I love that they have different size portions of meals. There are so many things to choose from. I normally take a million photos. I apologize because I was so into my visit that I didn't get any except photos of my family. I can tell you we started with fried mushrooms and they were incredible. They were hot and battered perfectly. Add Ranch and I was in heaven. They served it with gravy also-which is a must. Do you ever look back at your visit and wish you had eaten more of something? That's me with the mushrooms, but I was trying to be lady like so I only ate a few. I got chopped beef sirloin that was smothered in onions and brown gravy & fried okra and they serve it with this muffin like roll. It was all so good. The quality of the meat was great and that deep brown gravy compliments the entire dish....grilled onions....oh man...take me back! Let me just tell you my little southern heart was in heaven. Their onion rings are amazing also. The chicken fried steak was great. I mean....i had to take bites of my son's plate also. I don't see how you could go wrong here. I love that you go grab your food and go sit yourself down. This place stayed hopping but they were on their game and had the food out so tables were turning quickly. I didn't see anybody ever waiting to sit. This is just an all in all great place to eat. I wish it wasn't so far away from me, but I will definitely make an effort to be back.

The menu is on the wall and ordering at the counter. There are yummy looking pies in the case. We were happy to see liver and onions with 3 sides. It also came with an incredibly tasty muffin, which we were told was a type of bran muffin. The liver was very thinly sliced and nicely grilled. Sides were generous. We got drinks and my unsweet tea was nicely brewed, which in Texas is expected. Counter staff was friendly and service was quick. The environs are in serious need of an upgrade, which I doubt will happen to keep the prices low. As it is our shared meal and two drinks was about $25. We were very pleased with our meal, the restrooms were clean and easy access, and overall other than extremely dated decor this eatery is a Boerne classic!

What-an-Experience…read more If you're looking for a place where the food is slow to arrive and sometimes cold when it should be hot, the service is slow to nonexistent, and the manager's professional wardrobe could double as a "before" photo for a reality show makeover, then look no further than this particular Whataburger. Upon arrival, I was eventually greeted by a worker after waiting for about two minutes. While that sounds like no time at all, when waiting is an eternity. I finally placed my order for a regular number 14 but instead of mayo I wanted buffalo sauce. Now what is a 14 you ask? Let me tell you it is a plain chicken sandwich combo. Not a burger but chicken and a number 14 not a sandwich but a number 14 combo. The server took my order and asked if I wanted the buffalo sauce on my burger to which I said no because I am ordering a 14 chicken combo. Then I was asked if I wanted to make the combo a combo. Enter the wait and the longer wait and then my food was delivered straight to my table by a most unhelpful person who just dropped of my food and asked "want any ketchup?" Before I could answer he was walking away so I guess no? But wait - it gets better. A fellow customer, understandably upset about receiving a cold sandwich (again, they should be *hot*), asked for the manager. Enter the manager - not with a sense of urgency, professionalism, or even a basic "sorry" for the inconvenience. No, he arrived in filthy clothes and the kind of attitude that said, "Why are you bothering me on my break?" The look on his face was like he had better places to be, like napping on a couch or watching paint dry. Honestly, I felt bad for the other customer who just wanted a warm sandwich. But apparently, asking for a decent meal and a little decency in service is just too much to expect. I'll be taking my food cravings elsewhere. Somewhere with food that's at least lukewarm and a manager who knows how to dress and act like they care. The one positive out of this experience is that I had an unexpected visitor join me for dinner. Do better Boerne Whataburger.... Please do better and please take care of the bugs. I prefer to sometimes eat alone.
