We sat at the bar for a quick dinner after a trip to the movies. Since I ate popcorn there, I wasn't so hungry. I ordered the shrimp and lobster chowder ($6) while my husband got the 6oz Flo's filet. My soup was very hot, but had no evidence of any lobster and only a scant amount of the dime-sized baby shrimp. Not a lot of flavor, sadly. My husband's filet, baked potato and Caesar salad were very good. I got a beer, which came fine. My hubby's drink (as he said 'a Black Russian, more vodka than Kaluha') first came with cream as a White Russian. They took it back, but brought a Black Russian with so much Kaluha that it was way too sweet and dark. They tried a third time and finally got it right! This is a review solely based on deals we had for lunch here, this is not a steak dinner review. However, if you want to see a review about a killer special you can get at lunch time that's honestly around the same price as fast food these days and a much better selection, keep reading. I want to start by saying our server was a nice man and helpful, and the restaurant is perfect for a dinner setting but was maybe a bit dark for a lunch. I wouldn't say they were slow per se, but definitely nowhere near as busy as dinner time. So my girlfriend got a chicken sandwich and was able to choose a loaded baked potato as her side and it was $9. I got a half pound cheeseburger and I went with a house salad for my side and it was $10. They brought the loaf of bread you normally get before dinner meals as well. With drinks I believe the bill was like $25. If that wasn't reason enough to be excited...the food was quite good. Like far better than I expected. My burger was cooked to the proper temp and I had it with lettuce, tomato, onions, and pickles. It was juicy enough (medium rare) that I did not add any condiments. The vegetables for the salad were all fresh and the dressing tasted good, but next time around I will ask for the dressing on the side...it just felt like a lot of dressing. This is our second visit to Longhorn Steakhouse. Definitely a new favorite when we're visiting the Poconos. We had a group of 9 and despite being a busy Friday night they were able to seat us in only about 15 minutes. Staff was wonderful, had drinks & bread very quickly and our food was delicious. Love that Longhorn has different side options than most of the other chain restaurants- my favorite is the Crispy Brussel Sprouts, they are roasted in a honey butter sauce, different way of preparing Brussel Sprouts than I'm used to and definitely love them! Came here 2 days in a row being that there was a power outage literally right after we placed our order due to a car accident outside. Glad I came back the next day because our server remembered us and was extra friendly. The food was pretty good, similar to the Longhorn's I've been to in NJ. The manager came over to our table and apologized and got us another order which was still salty but we just accepted it. Our server was very welcoming and sweet. First, the Bread. Nice size loaf with a dish of butter on a carving board. I ordered the Sirloin pairing. 6oz Sirloin with Shrimp. I was told it comes with two sides, I chose rice and broccoli. Krystal came back and told me the Shrimp was served over rice that I could have another side. I ordered a salad. They brought me the steak, and it was thin like a breakfast steak no favor but the grease on the bottom of the plate, but somehow dry and had bones throughout it which i never knew steaks had a bone in the middle of it . This is supposed to be their signature item, but somehow, their worst item . It was the worst steak i have ever eaten. The Longhorn Steakhouse is a chain restaurant steakhouse. It's located on PA Route 611 near all the Poconos resorts. The vibe inside is rustic with walls adorned with longhorns and mounted deer heads. Since Longhorn is a chain, my expectations were those for chain restaurants which is usually fast casual. Longhorn didn't disappoint as the food quality was as good as it gets for the category. We ordered a grilled chicken strawberry salad, grilled lamb chops, cheese stuffed mushrooms and a children's meal consisting of chicken fingers and fries. For dessert, we had their version of mud cake and vanilla ice cream. My favorite dish from all of choices were the stuffed mushrooms which appeared to contain three different types of cheeses. The cheeses were liquidy, soft, and crusty and overflowed onto the serving plate. They were simply delicious. My next favorite was the mud cake which was soft, warm and pillowy. The ice cream and caramel contrasted so well with the cake. As for my entrée, the lamb chops, I could tell that the meat had been frozen. They were served fairly well-done and were coated with an herbal sauce. I enjoyed these but wished that the lamb chops were not frozen thus could have been cooked rarer. Also, the lamb chops had quite a bit of untrimmed fat near the bone, so if they could chop those off before cooking, that would be a major improvement. We really enjoyed our server who was so friendly and got us quick refills on our sodas and waters. The prices were reasonable as my lamb chops were only $20 for about 5 chops.
