We met another couple here today at noon for lunch. The ladies both ordered the salmon. Both were mushy and were sent back. I had a chopped steak, salad, and a side of broccoli. Excellent. My buddy had a sirloin, he said excellent. The wife's did get a different meal but sort of ruined their meal, well sort of. Half of us happy, the other half..well fair. Service good, Staff excellent. The service- this is the main reason for the 5 stars. Our server, Juanita, ROCKED the entire time. Smooth flow, little wait time, and she honestly was so proactive with what I may need, I wanted for nothing the entire time. The food- of course, absolutely delicious. The Outlaw steak is to die for. We don't frequent too many chain restaurants, however, Longhorn SH in Cold Spring is one we come back to often. Grab a seat at the bar or a high top in the bar area, and you'll be treated to exemplary hospitality by Martina and the rest of the staff. I always order the salmon, I have never been disappointed, it is prepared perfectly every time! My husband usually gets the Flo's filet or the entree salad with chicken tenders in it. The steak is always cooked perfectly and/or the salad is always fresh and the chicken is tender and well seasoned and tasty. The service is very attentive and you will not be waiting for drink, beer,wine refills. The restaurant area along with the restrooms is always clean , with pleasant lighting. This is my "go to" place when I want salmon, it is prepared better here than many high end restaurants. read more

Our experience was just incredible. My family came here for a pre birthday dinner for myself. Our waiter Dylan was fantastic - very down to earth, kind and funny. He was running every which way but he also maintained a great attitude. I believe he just may be the best server I've had at a restaurant! Our food/drinks were so tasty. My husbands food was running a bit behind ours due some malfunction in the kitchen with the stoves/ovens, so the manager Devin came over and let us know that my husbands meal would be comped AND we would get a free dessert. We truly were not expecting anything like that. I overheard Devin at another table complimenting his entire staff by saying he has the best in the world. It truly shows. I've never been to a LongHorn before. Coming from the west coast, we typically went to Black Angus when I was a kid. But needing food after 9pm on a Sunday drove me here with friends and I'm very glad it did! Very clean and nice restaurant on the inside. Initially we were greeted by a hostess who was friendly but immediately began to complain about the governor's order or something about capacity. Anyway I'll return to that later... We were seated and our friendly server Matt took care of us. I had one of the steaks that also come with rock grilled shrimp. My sides included asparagus and a salad. Salad was plentiful and full of vegetables! Entree was delicious! The shrimp and sauce were perfection...literally! The steak was well cooked to my requested medium-rare and the asparagus was salty and buttery. Just how I like them! There was also rice pilaf under the shrimp which was very flavorful. Friend had a steak with mac and cheese as a side. He said the steak was great but the M&C left something to be desired. I had a taste myself and it was pretty bland unfortunately. Matt continued to take care of us and make sure we had everything we needed. But I couldn't get the hostess' words out of my mind. I really thought it was awkward to begin a conversation criticizing healthcare people who are doing what they know best to keep us safe. I understand and empathize with people who are essential workers and continue to go to work everyday, putting themselves at risk. But the governor's orders are designed to keep us all safer. So initially I was very taken aback by this direction the conversation was immediately going. My friend responded with saying that he was a nurse all of this was designed the best way possible to keep infection rates low. I just looked away because I wasn't in the mood to keep a conversation going about a topic like that when all I wanted to do was have a good dinner and keep a local business going. Ugh, I really wanted to be leaving a 5 star review! We had a great waitress, the service was pretty fast. It was packed but we were on the waitlist so we were sat very quickly. Our waitress was incredibly kind and sweet, she gave us a lovely experience. The food came quicker than I expected, especially given how busy they are. The reasons for my 3 star feedback are unfortunately due to quality issues with our meals. I ordered a 9oz filet prepared medium rare. I am sad to share it was not a great cut of steak - the steak seemed mushy/soupy in texture. It was incredibly odd to me, as filet is known for being a very tender cut of meat and this was far from that. The other issue was with the children's sirloin steak for my 2 year old daughter. It was her first steak and she loved it! However, we ordered it to be prepared medium, and it was very much a medium rare. I was worried she may get sick (she didn't, thank goodness!) The tenderness of her sirloin was much better than my filet that I ate a lot of hers, haha. Our waitress was so nice (and so busy running around) that I felt guilty to say anything about the steaks, so I will clearly admit here that I did not ask them about it. We just arrived and was sat within 20 minutes (length of the line) and my husband said that we would sit in the bar so our wait would be less.... we were sat and then 5 minutes later a Martine/waitress comes to us and tells us that we will wait at least 15 minutes to get drinks or service at all. She went on and on about how they shouldn't have sat us with her and that she wouldn't be with us even for drinks for art least 15 minutes. As a customer we didn't know what to do. The restaurant sat us.. so we had no place in line and this unfriendly waitress made it clear she would not do anything for us for at least 15 minutes. Right then someone dropped bread on our table. I said, "if we have drinks and bread then a wait isn't so bad..". She said, "i won't be able to get you drinks....." Well this is the strangest situation I have found myself in at a restaurant... kiddo was hungry so we let her eat the bread while we saw how this played out.... Martine helped everyone around us ... and at this point our kid was thirsty from the bread but obviously we weren't allowed to be served yet. And there was no bartender anywhere to be seen.... so we left... ate at jot India with amazing service and waiters that like big tips! Or just care about their customers.. In the time it took for her to tell us we wouldn't be served for 15-20 minutes she could have gotten us drinks... No service sundays... That's a new one.... I will update as we go... We encountered rude, impolite, coarse, demeaning and condescending people who seemed to disregard any concern for the guests. Our party of 4 all are approaching 80 years old. We were spoken to in a loud, demeaning, and dismissing manner by the greeter followed by a patronizing, degrading and nonsensical lecture from the owner about time being different in the waiting area than at a table. The food here is adequate at times but inconsistent. It does not come close to the level of The Texas Road House, or The Outback. Two older couples entered and left when spoken to by the loud and overbearing greeter. This and the treatment we got before we left unseated some 35 minutes later makes it seem that the senior citizens aren't welcome at Longhorns. read more

We have been patrons of this location for more than 4 years. We were disappointed on our last trip. We always sit in the bar area. Our last trip, we were informed after we did our usual, casual run in to catch a game, they are seating in the bar area so you have to wait for them to place you. This on top of their website not working to "get in line" means waiting every time. How much less service are you offering? Either leave the bar seating alone or get your electronics working. Don't make your patrons miserable while you change the rules and don't use your tools. read more

My friend and I stopped in the other night after attending a visitation. Not a big fan of this chain. I think their steaks aren't seasoned well, overpriced , and taste like it's a steak I could cook at home. My friend picked it, so I went. Right off the bat, it was about a ten minute wait for someone to reach our table, after that though the service wasn't bad. We ordered the cheese fries, which used to have chili but don't anymore. I actually like them better without the chili. The fries were hot, the ranch on them and on the side was fantastic, and they had a lot of cheese. I also really enjoyed the bread they bring too! I was going to get the LH Burger, but decided to go with a full slab of ribs, with steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes. I don't usually get ribs at chain restaurants, because they are just frozen, previously cooked ribs that are warmed and served, these were no different. They aren't tender fall off the bone ribs, these are a little tough with an weird aftertaste. The potatoes are ok, a little too thick, clumpy is a good word for them, again with an off flavor. The broccoli, was great! I got to the point where I had eaten the potatoes, and the broccoli and was down to the last 4 ribs. I had broke apart 2 of the ribs and put some meat on my fork and put it into my mouth. As i chew, I realize something wasn't right, so I reach up to pull out a hair the length of my forearm. Meal stopped there. I have a shave bald head, my buddy has very short hair, and our wives weren't there. Wasn't our hair!!! Disappointed to say the least. I didn't want to be "that guy" who has eaten all but 4 ribs and say there's a hair in my food. I paid the $31 and went on my way. Not what it used to be. All steaks were cooked blue, sent back, still blue. All salad was smothered in dressing, we all couldn't eat it. Soup was cold and extremely salty. We have great customer service experience. Our food are little heavy on salt, but my mom's steak was really salty. The manager Drew remade her steak and took the all the steak off the tab. We were so surprised and great appreciate what he did. Will return for sure. read more

While I've always had good experiences with Longhorn, my most recent waitress clearly proved why I love Longhorn so much. The staff is always amazing and quick to check in especially during stressful times like this. During this recent trip, we met Kendall who has a strong worth ethic and strives for good service. She not only was an amazing server but also made the experience feel personal rather than just another another customer in and out the door. I usually temper my expectations when it comes to chain restaurants. However, my wife and i just had a really nice dinner here. We had a $50 gift card that we wanted to use, so we started off with the Texas margarita (pictured below). WOW! The glass came salted and the mix tasted like it was made with authentic ingredients not the pre-made mix. And it was adequately strong! I was very impressed. My wife then ordered a half rack of ribs, while I got the sirloin plus shrimp dinner. Everything really was great! The service was friendly and prompt, and the bill, despite our three mixed drinks, was barely over $50. Great bang for your buck here. We will be coming back! read more

Okay let talk about the experience I had today at Longhorn. Work was very busy so I decided I was not going to eat the lunch I brought with me and I was going to go have something delicious. I decided to get Longhorn because I wanted something different than the usual Mexican or Chinese I tend get, and I am so happy I did!!! So my waitress was very nice, took my order quickly and brought me my drink right away. Today I ordered some options that are new to the menu because I wanted to try something different. I got the lunch half sandwich plus soup special. For my sandwich I got a "BPT" which is bacon, pimento cheese, and a fried green tomato- shut up right now! That thing was incredible. For my soup I got mushroom truffle bisque... Drooling sorry! It had to have been one of the best soups I have ever had and I'm a soupaholic so I know soup! Usually chain restaurants don't impress me like this but I was very happy with my meal today! GOOD JOB LONGHORN!! read more

I order Longhorn Carry Out from Cold Spring KY quite often. my father who is 92 next month likes the 6 oz sirloin there. Today I ordered food for him per usual. walked in to pick it up. after I got home the baked potato was discolored and tasted terrible. It was OLD!!!! and had been sitting from the day before. I called and asked to speak to the Manager. The man that answered the phone said he was the manager..... I was so upset I told him the potato was old and tasted like Shi+. He told me to hold. A different man then came online. Again I said the potato tasted like SHI+ and was old.The so called manager then told me that was not true because they donated all of their old food somewhere. That's the same as accusing me of lying. First of all donated food has to be kept at certain temperatures, be regulated etc. Everything has regulations. He kept telling me that this couldn't possibly be true. I'm 63 yrs old. I know what an old potato looks like. I was fuming. I WILL NEVER GO IN LONGHORN STEAKHOUSE IN COLD SPRING KY AGAIN. Firstly, I had never been to a LongHorn Steakhouse before today. I am celebrating my 2 year anniversary and this was a 10/10 experience for me. My drink, the white peach sangria, was a refreshing and impressive cocktail. THE best steak I ever had was here. It was cooked perfectly with just the right seasonings and the sides really complimented the meal. Mind you it was not cheap but for the enjoyment of the meal, it was worth it. As the physical aspects of this place; it's your basic cowboy/western motif which is fine if you go once a year. Being less than a mile from our home, we eat here several times a month. Our favorite time is lunch since they now have lunch combos, most being under $10. Soup and salad is what I typically order since you have a choice of several soups (French onion, chili, shrimp and lobster chowder or broccoli cheddar) + either a mixed greens salad or Caesar.
