Soup and salad is what I typically order since you have a choice of several soups (French onion, chili, shrimp and lobster chowder or broccoli cheddar) + either a mixed greens salad or Caesar. We gathered my family for my Birthday and headed to Longhorn in pursuit of some delicious steaks. Having a party of 6 we had to wait about 15 minutes which wasn't too bad. The server we had greeted us and was quick to get our drink orders and appetizers out. The stuffed mushrooms were delicious and the fried pickles were also good to start. I ordered the 20 oz Flo Medium and it came out Medium Rare but that was fine by me as it still was very good. Everyone else in the family really enjoyed their food and the service was excellent. To make up for the incorrect cooking of my steak they were nice enough to bring our table a huge plate of ice cream and cake to share. Food was good. Service was Great. Table,menu,salt & pepper shakers sticky. as in NOT CLEAN. A Cold Draft blowing on the table at first was a little disheartening. We had Buffalo chip appetizer. This was my first time at a LongHorn and everything went great. The restaurant seating/setting is not ideal; very narrow aisleways and not much space to walk through. My wife and I landed here for dinner last Friday night. We have not been to a Longhorn Steakhouse in a very long time, years I'd say. But, a gift card, and the positive urging of our son who knows the restaurant industry well, made the decision for us. I did not expect the pleasant experience that awaited us inside since we have become partial to the steaks we grill at home. Though busy, we were seated promptly and greeted by our server, Andrea. We both ordered the Ribeye with baked potato with 'fixins' and side salads. All I can say is that it was all delicious. The salad arrived in a cold bowl and that is always a plus for me. The homemade blue cheese dressing was excellent, as well as the 1000 island for my wife. The steaks were juicy thanks to the nice marbling and they were cooked perfectly at medium rare. Andrea was polite and very attentive despite the dinner rush. She offered dessert after dinner which we declined and in time brought us the check. I always enjoy it, too, when the Manager stops by the table to check for customer satisfaction, and he did stop by, making his rounds through the dining room. On our way out the door the hostess wished us a good evening. The dining experience was good from start to finish. I will add a final note, though, but I do not want to detract from the 5 star status: we parked near the dumpsters because of a full lot and the rancid garbage smell was enough to take your breath away. While the management should ensure that this area be pressure washed I will clearly not park in that area on a likely, subsequent visit. read more

We've always enjoyed Longhorn, but seems they've gone downhill lately. Went during the week for an early dinner, so the place wasn't crowded...still had to wait too long for our food to come. We were so looking forward to some great steaks but were very disappointed this time. My strip steak was very tough, and looked more like a sirloin than a strip. My husband ordered the filet mignon, which is supposed to be the most tender of all, but was it also tough. The sides were just ok, but the bread was wonderful as usual! The manager did end up taking the price of my steak off the bill and my dogs enjoyed their steak dinner when we got home. Don't think we'll go there again for a long while. read more

Usually our experience here is spot on, but last night, Father's Day, it was definitely off. I ordered pork chops and my husband ordered the ribeye steak. Our salads arrived and the waitress informed me she put extra dressing in mine because she likes a lot of dressing. She drowned my salad in ranch. Terrible. When our food finally arrived out meat wasn't even warm and the potato was so hot you couldn't eat it. Not great. read more

It took 10 minutes for a server(not our server) to come ask for drink orders and another 20 on top of that to get food. You have to dine at the bar and meet Okyon, this lady is a treasure to that place, had to travel there for work weekly and it was my Sunday night dinner at the bar. This place has a potential to be really great. Wait staff is mostly very attentive. Last time I visited there was a hostess who I have not seen before and she pretty much took one of the stars off this review - she was disinterested, brought incorrect number of plates and silverware, and not a single smile or a proper greeting - may be she had a bad day but she should leave that at the door when coming to work. Food here is decent and under 500 cal menu is pretty good. Salmon is especially great. Service is really good too compared to similar options at nearby Applebees (mediocre service, awfully prepared food), or O'Charley (popularity of this overcrowded place puzzles me to this date). The biggest problem this place has is the smoking. While most of the time it is no too bad, sometimes even the non-smoking area is clouded with smoke. Smoking section being in the entrance makes it even worse and non-smokers have no choice but to take a few good gulps of choking cigarette smoke while waiting to be seated. this problem alone is the reason this place is not earning $$$'s worth of business from me and a few of my friends personally every year. This problem is so bad that I even put up with going to now very crappy but non-smoking Applebees in Highland Heights where I am pretty sure their main chef is a young student with no experience in cooking and cannot even follow a canned recipe. Well this longhorn is terrible. Soon as we walked In the door and had begun our wait I was tormented by the tv over the bar. They literally had CNN on the whole time I'm so offended and wanted to run out and hide in my safe space. The last thing I need in my life is to have you snowflakes try to push your liberal ideologies and propaganda on my impressionable little girl. She gets enough teachers trying to brainwash her in the public school system. Alright, so my family goes to this steak house nearly once a month if not more often. I've had their $12.99 Dinner specials twice now and the first time it was heaven. The steak was tender and the sides and desert were fantastic. I went today and found myself choking down a steak COVERED in cracked peppercorns and to hot for most people. Normally I enjoy heat, but my mother does not. Her steak, a fillet, was treated the same way and she could not even come close to eating it. Normally the staff there is really nice and handles issues in the kitchen well. I can shrug off most of the smaller problems like a steak that is mostly gristle or fat (which is something you don't really figure until you try to eat it). Today though the wait staff and the manager on duty told us that it was our fault. They said that the steakhouse is known for having seasoned steaks and that if we can't handle a little seasoning that we should just order our steaks without or with little seasoning from then on. I've been there many times before, their steaks have never been so disgustingly seasoned before. Someone in the kitchen was abusing the pepper and we were not the only people complaining. Another woman sitting in the dining room was also disgusted by her steak and I get the feeling they have a lot of new staff. The manager on duty was unfamiliar and the same goes for the waitress who was so rushed that she came off rude. The guys cooking the steaks in the kitchen were a bit too silly with the pepper and to top it off while my family were eating desert and chatting I remember our waitress collecting plates and asking if we needed anything and if we were finished. We had paid our bill and were talking and catching up when the waitress grabs up some of our plates and tells us that "You guys need to get moving." Which is out of line for a waitress who has been blaming us for the steak being cooked wrong. Ontop of it we were talking about our bill, which they told us they had taken the steak off but then we found they had charged the steak onto the bill twice and only taken one of them off. So we had paid the full price on the credit card and when we talked to them about fixing the billing problem they told us they would end up charging our credit card again to fix it which would tie up our money. My aunt had to push to get a gift card for the difference and the manager still insisted that the ordering issue was our fault for not ordering it correctly. Normally I would give this place an okay rating but this was the worst service I've had in a long time. It is not ok. read more

Five friends for lunch today at Cold Springs Longhorn. Placed orders at 11:50 am. At 12:30 pm we asked what was the delay. Waiter acted insulted that we asked. Finally got served food at 12:40 pm. Most of the orders were just salad. Plus, they really were not busy at all. Longhorn needs to get on top of this. Thinking about trying the competition and other alternatives. read more

My wife and I went here this past Tuesday for our anniversary. My wife had ordered a surf and turf and I ordered a ribeye. First of all they forgot to add the surf part to my wife's order and she had ordered a loaded potato which came plain, we finally got it fixed whenever our waitress decided to come out of hiding. I had ordered the ribeye medium rare, I started eating it and quickly realized that it was way undercooked so after flagging down our elusive waitress I sent it back and she said they would have it cooked properly. After about 5 minutes, the hostess brings me this steak and says cut into it and make sure it's cooked properly, I quickly realized this steak they had given me was about an inch less thick than the ribeye I had before. I took a few bites and said to the waitress (who was miraculously standing there) and hostess "this isn't my ribeye I ordered, this is a sirloin" in which the hostess replied "no its your steak, they just flattened it to cook it" ok for one thing you bleached out blond, it would be nearly impossible to flatten a 1 inch steak to a quarter inch without mangling it to death and also I know the difference in flavor between a ribeye and a sirloin, they are very distinct, so I asked our waitress to see the manager which was nice about it and took my steak off the bill. It boiled down to me, I do not appreciate them lying to me when there was clearly a problem in the kitchen and I'll never give them my business again. read more

I typically do not write reviews, but I felt this was a necessity. I ate at longhorn in Cold Spring last night, and like an idiot left my credit card. I called today to see if they had it. I didn't go anywhere else mind you. The manager Stephanie answered and said, "it wasn't left in the safe." I then told her, "I left it in the little black things they put the receipt on." Her response, "It could still be in one, but it wasn't in the safe." "Okay?" "Ok" and HUNG UP. No getting my number, or telling me she would look in the little black things or nothing. I was shocked. Needless to say, even though it was my own fault for being careless with my card, she was so rude. I couldn't believe she just hung up on me. Rather than causing a huge deal and argument by calling back, I cancelled the card right away. The way she handled the situation, I hope she never makes a mistake and has to deal with someone like herself. As far as the food/service went the night before, there were no complaints. read more
