Went last night with friends, 6 in total. We did a call ahead so we were lucky to get seated right away. ( they were not busy). Our waitress, Amanda, was very polite in the beginning. We placed our drink orders and when they were delivered, she asked if we were ready. We asked her to give us a few minutes, as we wanted to toast and wish everyone a Happy July 4th. When we asked her to come over, we ordered 3 appetizers. They came out perfect. When it was time to place our orders, we all had specific requests, but not unusual. Our salads came out wrong so we asked her to replace them. Some wanted dressing on the side but all the salads had the dressing on the salad. Remember, I said they were not busy. We asked her to have a busboy remove the dishes from the appetizers so the salads could be placed. She said she does that. It was never done. When the salads came, there was no room on the table so my husband asked the server to place them and we would pass them out once the table was cleared. The server said we were yelling at her and rude. Well the manager, Chase came over and reprimanded all of us and said we were rude and yelling at the server. NOT true! When our meals came out, the salad plates were not removed so the manager Chase took care of it. My friends meal came out wrong but she did not say anything because she did not want Chase to reprimand us again. We have been long customers of this restaurant. There have been some times not everything was exact, but we were never given such disrespect as we were last night. Besides that, water was dripping on my husbands head. We mentioned it to our waitress and she said she would get the manager. He never came. BUT, when he came because of the server with the salads, it was brought to his attention. His answer was, do you want to move. We were in the middle of our meal. NO! It was not a pleasant experience, let alone an embarrassing one for all 6 of us. The steaks are top notch. Best all around. You get what you order medium rare or well you get exactly what you want. The sides are why I gave it less than 5 Stars. Dont get the mushroom side it is so salty . My head felt it right away. The mashed potatoes are also salty to the point I could not eat it. Get the Baked potato cannot go wrong never got a bad one. Corn on the Cob is fantastic get it. Mostly everything else is good. Service is friendly and good. They know what they are doing.Check your Bill you never know people make mistkes. read more

I like nice things and I like the basic goto establishments. What I have a hard time with is unkept.... Our check with tip was $150, so for 3 people it was 50 a person. Not cheap either.... But can we PLEASE do something about garbage and cleaning off the plates on the table. We walk in and at the hostess stand is a clearly visable garbage can overflowing. You walk through the restaurant and there's garbage all over the carpeted floor. We order an appetizer and for our entire main entree, in the middle of the table was the empty bread board with a plate on top of it full of bones from our wings.....then empty glasses and full glasses. Please, we want to go back. We want to enjoy a solid decent steak at an establishment that has potential. We don't need our beef from a suitcase with dry ice at all times.... Second time here. I wanted a good steak for my birthday without breaking the bank. We already did Texas Roadhouse for my Daughter's birthday last February. So, I decided to go to Longhorn Steakhouse in Freehold. I've been here before and I enjoyed that dinner before. This time it was a mixed bag. Our server was friendly, but seemed too frazzled. She talked a bit too fast and had a tendency to eat her words. She didn't offer bread right away. We had to ask for it. Her excuse was that she couldn't carry the bread while holding the drinks. Whatever. The food was still very good. The steaks came at the right temperatures, were tender, juicy and seasoned right. Of course, this spot is no fancy New York Steakhouse, but I'd pick this place over Chris Ruth's any day. You get the best bang for the buck. One beef (no pun intended) we had, though, was that the waitress didn't mention that the second sides were extra. She just said that the steaks come with two sides. When we got our bill, we were surprised to be charged for them. We complained. Management was kind enough to take them off our bill. Will we be coming back to this spot. Maybe. We'll be more careful when ordering sides next time and hope we don't get the same server. read more

Longhorn is a sleeper! The texas onion was 1000 calories of crispiness with a nice dipping sauce. The reason to come here is the steakhouse burger. Someone recommended it and it was fire. Perfectly cooked and just a solid burger. Who would have thought? The flo's filet was decent too. I ordered the caymus wine but not sure it was caymus. Probably a low cost alternative. Disappointment is the word that comes to mind when I think of Longhorn steakhouse. I don't dine here often, but whenever I do, their steaks have always been over cooked. My most recent order was today (3/23/25), I ordered the 6oz filet to go and it was more like well done than medium rare. This isn't the first or second time, but every time where my steaks have been really over cooked. The positive is the quality and taste of their food though. Despite the tendency for them to over cook your steak, the steak did taste good enough for the over cooking to be tolerable and their honey oat bread is amazing. If you dine in, it's free refills and it's even better when it comes out warm. Other sides like the crispy Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes are very tasteful sides, but they also charge extra for those. The location in Freehold is usually empty besides on the weekends. Go during weekend dinner hours and be prepared to wait about an hour to get a table. It's also very noisy in there with the bar area, so it's a little difficult to converse. I recommend doing to go orders and they are usually quite on time about delivering your order to your selected pick up time. Overall, if it weren't for this location's tendency to overcook the steaks, least from experience, I would've given them a solid 4 of 5 stars. read more

We were 3 couples enjoying a steak dinner together on this Monday night. It was a leisurely dinner with no one trying to turn the table and pushing us out. We ordered drinks which were awesome and warmed bread was on the table. We only ordered salads at first and and after we had eaten that, we went on to order our entrees. I had the longhorn ribeye go which was perfectly cooked and toasted Brussels sprouts. Also, I ordered the baked potato. This turned out to be a huge portion so I had half my steak to take home. The prices were very reasonable and the food was excellent. This is my first time ever coming to a Longhorn. The place was packed upon entering and there was about an hour wait. Once we got seated it did take a little while for the server to come over and get our drink order. Unfortunately he got one wrong but it took so long for us to see him again that we just kept the wrong drink and didn't say anything. We got different versions of steaks. I got the filet medium a little pinker than I would like but fine it was just very peppery tasting. It came with a salad, which was pretty good, and I got the mashed potatoes which had a pile of butter sitting on them. I pushed off the butter and tried to eat the potatoes, but honestly, they were awful I couldn't eat them. Also got a French onion soup which was very good. They use 3 types of Don Julio tequila; it's sooo tasty, not too sweet!!! For lunch, the chicken sandwich and burgers are AMAZING as are the chicken bite and wing appetizers. They make all of their sauces and dressings from scratch and the ranch and honey mustard are SUPERB!!! Chicken strips are fresh white meat, hand breaded every order! My son loves and gets them every time! I love every one of their side or din we salads but be prepared, the dinner salads are HUGE and you'll definitely be taking some home. My hubby loves the ribeye or filet and lobster tails. In fact, he usually adds a second tail as an add on for a very reasonable price! The free bread served with dinner is soft, warm and the whipped butter sets it off! When the bill came he plopped it on the table and walked away. I made the unfortunate mistake of not checking the bill and when I did it was too late to bring to his attention that he did not apply the coupon. Shame on me. Attentive, upbeat, and friendly. And she made a good cocktail. Sadly I didn't get her name but she had lighter brown hair and glasses. Food - 1 star and honestly that is just because the bag contained what I ordered. I ordered the 9oz filet medium rare. I decided to post pics which I typically don't do, but this was the furthest from my ask I've seen in some time from a "steakhouse". I cut virtually all the way in to the middle thinking the desired preparation was further in to the meat but no such luck. I hope and assume that the overall preparation of the steaks is more satisfactory if you dine in. If not at least you have the right to send it back. I really thought more meat should've been on that salad but the meat was seasoned well. Chicken bites was ordered as an appetizer as it appeared to be the most healthy appetizer selection in a list of sinful offerings. It turned out it was fried and unfortunately there was less chicken than there was fried coating. Of course the dipping sauce was tasty and I'm sure the younger ones would enjoy it! I have eaten here twice and the service is great, drinks are okay but here are the issues: Salad that comes with the meal, I know the dressing goes on the bottom, but both times I have had to ask for extra dressing, not that I "want" extra dressing, I just want the dressing that should come with the salad. Like most chain restaurants you know what you're getting into. I've been here quite a few times now and it's always the same. Service is always ok but don't expect anything exceptionally great. Food is good, never omg I must come back. There aren't many tables set up for parties larger than 4 so if you have a big party try and call ahead. They don't take reservations though. Trying to support our local restaurants bit today but very disappointed. It was ridiculous that we ordered at 6 and told 7:20 delivery pickup. My daughter tried to please me for Mother's Day, and almost gets hit by someone in the parking lot who ultimately received a free appetizer and got his food earlier than us, even though he showed up 40 minutes after us. We came in for dinner at this location. We were celebrating my friends 26th birthday while also remembering and honoring the passing of his sweet old dog. Attending was myself, my service dog, my friend and his parents. The night started really well, the host was understanding of us wanted to be out of the way and out of sight because of the unwanted attention for my service dog. We were tucked in large booth in the corner and my service dog was completely under the table but the waitresses and waiters kept walking up and (very awkwardly and uncomfortably) walking up, looking under the table and talking to my dog. Quick reminder that you should never pet, talk or make eye contact with service dog. They should be treated as medical equipment and ignored. It also states this on my service dogs vest with 2" x 6" patches that say "DO NOT PET", "SERVICE DOG" and "NO TOUCH, NO TALK, NO EYE CONTACT. WORKING DOG". Whatever - we smile and get over it. Not to bash the waitress as she was very nice but god she did not leave the table. We didn't sit down and have a dinner with friends and family, we basically had dinner with our waitress. She had to tell us all about her parents 3 wiener dogs and how one is from Russia and she went to a dog brewery adoption event and there was one dog who was adopted and she wants it and she's asking her dad this weekend about getting it and it's still available and no one put in applications and the dog is so shy and blah blah blah. We listened and made small talk but it was very obvious we wanted to be alone. We all slowly turned to our phones and stopped making eye contact and really answering. She was at our table for Atleast 20 minutes. Then she comes back with our food and has to show pictures to us of her dads dog and the dog she wants to adopt .. then another waitress comes over and starts to look under the table very uncomfortably. This is the best part. WE ARE HONORING A DECEASED DOG, right? We told this to both waitresses in hopes to get some privacy.. the second waitress pulls up a video on her phone of a puppy is the rescue Husky House that was attacked by its dad and has neurological damage. My friend awkwardly said "oh poor thing he's cute though" and looked away from the phone as it was very upsetting to see this puppy. Then she waves the phone back in his face and we all listen in horror as the puppy in the video starts screaming and yelping. This was so uncomfortable and so inappropriate. She frantically starts asking me if I think the puppy will heal or be okay? I don't know lady you literally just shoved a phone in our faces of a fucked up puppy and think I magically know everything about dogs because I have a service dog??? Honestly the food was really good. We ate and took home leftovers but god the service was awful. I believe the manager (wearing a collared shirt and walking around asking how stuff was) awkwardly looked under our table and asked questions about my service dogs breed and age and whatever without greeting us. Coming out of the restroom another waitress made kissy noises and tried to call over my service dog. Genuinely just really annoying. We just asked for a little birthday ice cream thing for my friends birthday while he was in the bathroom. nothing big just a little dessert for him - she said no problem. We got the check and then waited probably a good 20 minutes after the check and everything was boxed up for his "surprise ice cream" that we had to tell my friend about anyway since he was asking what we were waiting so long for. 100% not coming back here. The environment and service was so uncomfortable and awkward. 2 stars are strictly there because of the good food and kind young male host otherwise 0 stars. We tipped kindly still and left. All that aside we come to the service and the food. I don't know which one was worse, the staff they have in there looks like something you would see from a head banger concert. Multi color hair, women wearing mens jeans that are literally falling off their butts, needless to say it was quite an interesting atmosphere. Oh and lets not forget our waiter was so busy texting and messing around with his other crew members that he never felt the need to ask how the food was, clear our appetizer plates, or refill our drinks. The amount of dishes on our table looked like we were feeding 6 when infact there was 2 of us. Food was god awful, wings still had the little hairs hanging off of them, the fried shrimp were cold and the steak was comparable to a mix between shoe leather and a rubber band. Since I left a scathing review the restaurant posted pictures of what a t-bone and strip steak should look like. This is NOT anything like we received. The only cut you can't play around with is the filet mignon, nothing else resembles that. We used the gift certificate you gave us at Capital Grille in NY, also owned by Darden. And believe it or not my swordfish was rare and had to be sent back twice. And that is a 4-5 star restaurant. I'm staying away from any restaurant owned by Darden. read more

I wrote a review a number of years ago, but a post-Covid update seems reasonable. First of all, you should definitely sign up online for their emails that send birthday and other coupons. I've had plenty of free appetizers or desserts from that over the years. It's still a corporate, mass-market restaurant, but it is well-run, with a friendly staff and good food. I just returned after a long Covid hiatus, and noticed that the salads have been upgraded- not why you come here, but nice, anyway. My wife had a chopped steak, which had better toppings than we recall. My rack of baby back ribs was ok, not the best I've ever had, but certainly not the worst. A less sugary sauce would have been more satisfying. The fried popcorn shrimp appetizer (free with a coupon) was just fine. The freshly baked-off bread, served hot with soft butter, has always been good. It's great to be able to go to restaurants again, and this will be a regular stop. read more
