Second time here. I wanted a good steak for my birthday without breaking the bank. We already did Texas Roadhouse for my Daughter's birthday last February. So, I decided to go to Longhorn Steakhouse in Freehold. I've been here before and I enjoyed that dinner before. This time it was a mixed bag. Our server was friendly, but seemed too frazzled. She talked a bit too fast and had a tendency to eat her words. She didn't offer bread right away. We had to ask for it. Her excuse was that she couldn't carry the bread while holding the drinks. Whatever. The food was still very good. The steaks came at the right temperatures, were tender, juicy and seasoned right. Of course, this spot is no fancy New York Steakhouse, but I'd pick this place over Chris Ruth's any day. You get the best bang for the buck. One beef (no pun intended) we had, though, was that the waitress didn't mention that the second sides were extra. She just said that the steaks come with two sides. When we got our bill, we were surprised to be charged for them. We complained. Management was kind enough to take them off our bill. Will we be coming back to this spot. Maybe. We'll be more careful when ordering sides next time and hope we don't get the same server.

5-Star Review for LongHorn Steakhouse in Freehold LongHorn in Freehold never disappoints! We had an incredible meal featuring steak, shrimp, lobster tails, sautéed mushrooms and onions, crispy tonions, fresh bread, salad, a perfectly baked sweet potato, and brussels sprouts. While brussels sprouts can be hit or miss, these were more of a 5 on a 10 scale--but the rest of the meal was so outstanding it didn't take away from the overall experience. The flavors were spot on, the portions generous, and the service by Justin attentive and friendly. A truly enjoyable dining experience. We'll definitely be back! Dining room clean and inviting

Longhorn is a sleeper! The texas onion was 1000 calories of crispiness with a nice dipping sauce. The reason to come here is the steakhouse burger. Someone recommended it and it was fire. Perfectly cooked and just a solid burger. Who would have thought? The flo's filet was decent too. I ordered the caymus wine but not sure it was caymus. Probably a low cost alternative. I would come back for the burger. 3.5 stars if I could

We were 3 couples enjoying a steak dinner together on this Monday night. It was a leisurely dinner with no one trying to turn the table and pushing us out. We ordered drinks which were awesome and warmed bread was on the table. We only ordered salads at first and and after we had eaten that, we went on to order our entrees. I had the longhorn ribeye go which was perfectly cooked and toasted Brussels sprouts. Also, I ordered the baked potato. This turned out to be a huge portion so I had half my steak to take home. The prices were very reasonable and the food was excellent. The only negative is that when the waitress takes specific menu changes from us and writes them down, the kitchen doesn't read the changes and then it's a fiasco which could have been avoided.

Awesome servers and bartenders and they have well priced lunch specials everyday except Sunday. Great drink specials at happy hour. If you like margaritas, Longhorn's is the absolute best!!! They use 3 types of Don Julio tequila; it's sooo tasty, not too sweet!!! For lunch, the chicken sandwich and burgers are AMAZING as are the chicken bite and wing appetizers. They make all of their sauces and dressings from scratch and the ranch and honey mustard are SUPERB!!! Chicken strips are fresh white meat, hand breaded every order! My son loves and gets them every time! I love every one of their side or din we salads but be prepared, the dinner salads are HUGE and you'll definitely be taking some home. My hubby loves the ribeye or filet and lobster tails. In fact, he usually adds a second tail as an add on for a very reasonable price! The free bread served with dinner is soft, warm and the whipped butter sets it off! Last but not least, the baked potatoes are made fresh daily and have a yummy, crispy crust on the outside with all the toppings!!! If lamb chops are on the menu, that's another must try! Check this place out! You won't be disappointed!

Very clean and the service was great. I was so happy to have my steak cooked to perfection. The food cracker chicken wraps are so good. I enjoy coming to this restaurant even though there are a few closer to me. I always felt this one was the best .

She was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and refreshingly honest when my husband asked for meat recommendations. The service overall was prompt and attentive all night. One thing to note is that they ask you to place your full food order upfront, but the pacing was excellent and everything came out perfectly spaced without feeling rushed. The restaurant itself is modern, spacious, and much larger than I expected inside. We had a 6 PM reservation, which I actually preferred because by the time we left around 8 PM, the place was absolutely packed. Parking is probably the only downside. They do offer valet, but otherwise you'll need to use a nearby public lot, which can get crowded and is paid parking. As for the food, everything was also fantastic. My husband loved the oysters so much he originally ordered four... then immediately ordered six more. The whipped ricotta was honestly to die for and came in a huge portion, especially considering they already provide table-side bread. I ordered the goat cheese and honey pizza, which was delicious, and my husband said his filet was cooked perfectly. The garlic mashed potatoes were another standout and absolutely worth ordering. One thing to keep in mind is that the meats do not come with sides, and at $14 each, the sides can make the bill climb pretty quickly compared to the rest of the menu pricing. That said, the garlic mashed potatoes were so good we'd order them again without hesitation. Overall, really impressive food, great service, and a fun atmosphere that's definitely worth checking out.

Since we had parked right next to The Standard, we chose to give it a try for lunch--and it was the best decision we've made in a long time. The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas, creating such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant itself was just as lovely. We were a party of five, including a 14-month-old baby, and our waitress could not have been more accommodating. Another great convenience is that the hotel also has parking available in the back. I only wish I had taken photos! We started with appetizers--crispy calamari, mussels, and chicken wing lollipops. For our entrées, we ordered the French Dip sandwich, the Carnegie Reuben, and two Standard burgers. We also asked for a kids' pasta. Expecting the usual penne, we were surprised when angel-hair pasta arrived. Our little girl had never tried it before, so we requested a substitution. Although our waitress explained that angel hair was the only pasta they typically have, she returned moments later to let us know the chef was going to get penne just for us. That level of service truly stood out. The food was amazing, and the service was exceptional. We enjoyed our visit so much that we are even considering hosting a family wedding and a baptism here. What irritated me during dinner was we were asked if we'd like dessert while 2 people were still eating their meals, followed by the check immediately arriving- no etiquette. While paying and wrapping up the staff were directed to clear the table, this was obvious. For full drinks to be removed without asking is unacceptable. It was as if we weren't even sitting there the manner they were clearing. Again it was obvious the direction of the manager, they needed the table. Try being efficient to start instead of creating a rush at the end if overbooked and delayed. It's classier than putting a check on a table with people eating and rudely clearing drinks. Will not be returning. There is better up the road with real management and service.
