Ok. Instead of leaving a poor review, I was hoping to speak to the manager to voice my disappointment and displeasure. I called and the hostess asked me to hold. After 4 min. the hostess told me that the manager is busy, but will answer in 2 min. After another 3 min the hostess informed me that the manager is now in the kitchen, but please hold. After another 3 min. she came back on the call. By this time, I was perturbed and asked for the manager's name. The hostess stammered for a bit, with a bunch of "ummms" and "aaaaahs", and promptly put me on hold without giving the name. After another 2 min. I hung up. I was at the restaurant 8-16-24 around 11:40 am, sitting at the bar. I'm sure Longhorn management will figure out who the manager on shift was. And it is because of that, I am now compelled to submit this review. I tried to help ya'll out, but you made my experience even worse. Let me say that the service at the restaurant was on point and very nice. But the FOOD!!!! I ordered their LH Burger w/ side of baked potato. I was a bit concerned that the baked potato would not be freshly prepared, being that the restaurant had just opened for business 40 min ago. Also, by the fact that it takes a bit over an hour to bake a fresh baked potato. But I figured this is Longhorn, they wouldn't serve me food that was made the previous day. Well, I should have been concerned the same way about the burger too. The food arrived and immediately I could tell that they popped that baked potato in the microwave. Normally LH's baked potato has crispy outer skin and it is seasoned well. This potato was soggy, lacking seasoning and the inside had areas that were hard and not as hot as the others. Obviously microwaved. I told my server who immediately got me another potato. SAME DIFFERENCE. Now onto the burger. I ordered it cooked medium. It came out well done; REALLY well done. I figured this burger meat must have been cooked the night before and just "heated" and served. I could tell from the texture and there was ZERO juice coming from the meat. I ate it without asking for it to be returned, but it had to be the nastiest tasting burger and nastiest tasting baked potato I've had in a very long time. I was sooo very much expecting the "usual" great food from Longhorn. It was probably too early after opening to expect "fresh" food that was prepared when ordered, instead of reheating last night's dish. My friend and I visited the LongHorn in Laurel, Md. on a late Friday afternoon. Although the place was bustling, we were seated promptly and greeted by our server, Jordan. She was a treasure. Very friendly and attentive. Jordan brought us warm whole wheat rolls and butter. I ordered the house salad with balsamic vinegar dressing, the 6-ounce filet mignon and sweet iced tea. Drinks: 9/10 I had the Texas Margarita and that wasn't too bad. We were disappointed bc we ended up having to send back the steak and my sister's food but the manager did comp our bill for us against me telling her just take my steak off and my sister's food and let me pay for the sides for my food since I liked them but she insisted on taking both of our entire meals off. Went here after getting my nails done with a friend in the area. This seemed like our best option for dinner. The wait was a little long considering the quality (or lack thereof) of food. The parking lot is always full as it's to be expected since this is a major food chain restaurant but after waiting 20 minutes, we were seated and was greeted instantly and got an appetizer of spicy chicken nuggets and a kids meal for my daughter. I'm not much of a steak person, so I don't go to many steakhouses. This was probably my second time at a Longhorn Steakhouse. I came today with my Dad and brother during the lunch hour. Although short staffed, we were able to be seated quickly and our waitress was efficient and polite. You would not know they were short staffed the way she was working (great waitress)! My dad ordered one of the lunch combinations--the shaved prime rib sandwich. With the lunch combinations, you can order either a soup or a salad (my dad had a salad). My brother ordered the "Outlaw Ribeye," and I had the 8 oz renegade sirloin with the lobster shrimp mac & cheese. The food arrived in a timely fashion and everything was good! I enjoyed the Mac & cheese (very flavorful) and my brother said his steak was pretty good and tender. The brussels sprouts were pretty good as well; my dad and brother said they were a little sweet also. My dad liked his sandwich but said there were way too many mushrooms; so, if you're like me and don't really prefer mushrooms, this isn't the option for you. On April 15, sunday 2024 @ 20:12 I Took my 76 year old mother here after a long day of getting her yard cleaned up for summer....kind of a reward to ourselves for a long day of tough work. She likes this place and we usually go once a month or so.....When we got there it was moderately busy and there was a 10 min wait....no problem. we got the text that our table was ready at 8:23pm. We were hungry so we already had what we wanted picked out and ordered the meal as soon as the server addressed us (Floyd or Loyd was his name), He brought our drinks and that was pretty much the last we saw him.......10-15 min goes by and i caught his attention and asked for the bread as we were starving......fine he brought the bread out,.......about another 20 min goes by and I caught him again and asked if we could at least have our salads....he acted surprised that we hadn't gotten them yet and went and got the salads....when he brought our salads he asked if we needed some drink refills.....and that was the last time we saw him for an hour. We watched as other tables that were seated well after us enjoyed their meals and be well-taken care of by our server.......Me and ol mom aren't the type to cause a scene or complain about stuff so we just held faith that our food was coming........we were there for about an hour and a half......Finally I asked another server if we could just pay for our salads and sodas and leave and he said ok......10 min later our original server comes out with a manager and our food and we were given what felt like a patronizing apology from the female manager. They gave us the food for free but i regret taking it as this really felt like we were discriminated against and I am unsure if they did anything to our food as we had them pack it to go because the restaurant was closing and we were tired of sitting there. The fact that other tables were being treated well and got their orders in a timely manner..... kind of sends it home that this treatment was intentional. It made my mother sad as she liked this Restaurant but we will not ever set foot in it again after being treated so badly. I asked our server if it was intentional and he "promised" it wasn't which was also pretty insulting considering I don't appreciate being told that my eyes are lying to me. My 82-year-old​ mother comes to this particular restaurant​ maybe once every 2 weeks. She happened to have had a problem with a take-home​ meal. The waitress​ mentioned it to Mr.​ Brown and he went out of his way to correct the previous concern. Along with being a true man of his word and he made my mom feel like a truly​ valued customer. Its been a long time since I went to a steak house and my visit here was more so-so than excellent. I have to say that the food was well prepared and I truly enjoyed the steak. It was a Saturday evening visit and when I called to get on the wait list, I was informed there was only a five minute wait. Upon arrival make that 30 minutes, but no worries there. On Saturday 26th of February 2022 three members of a local Boy Scout Troop and myself chose to have a meal at Longhorn Steakhouse. We arrived at approximately 7:15 PM and registered at the Hostess Desk. Understanding that it was a Saturday evening, and the parking lot was full. We knew that we were in for a period. Upon by texted that our table was ready, we quickly stepped up to the Hostess Desk and was directed to our both (2 tables from the kitchen entrance). At this time we were not given any utensil, just four menu's. Approximately 15 minutes from the time we were seated our waitress walked pass the table and announced "I will be right back, I needed to get your bread." Approximately 15 minutes later the waitress returned with the wooden serving board with the baby loaf of bread, and four plates. As she handed me the bread and then the plates, before I took the plates from her hand I could see the top plate had a big black stain on it. The waitresse then asked if she could take our drink order. I replied "Can we start with getting new plates! As I passed her the first plate I uncovered that the second plate was just as dirty,, the third and fourth had globs of butter on both sides of the plates. Our waitress placed the dirty plates under her arm, and asked if she could take our drink order. We complied with her request and placed our drink order, the Scout Master that was with our party request that since we waited so long why not just go ahead and take the full order. The waitress.replied to her "I'm pregnant and had to pee, that's why it took longer than normal." *Note: How many this went wrong, and the question that is at the top of your mind right now. Just that alone deserves 1 half-stars We placed our meal orders and as she turned away I asked "If we could have something to cut the bread and spread the butter? " Her reply was did they not give you that already. Honestly I have very low expectation for most chain restaurants - but my parents wanted to try "new" food and I happened to have a giftcard to Darden's restaurants - so we decided to check out LongHorn for a casual lunch date. First impression - I wasn't particularly impressed by the over the top cowboy decor. Not only did it look tacky, it also appeared as if all the decors could use some dusting. Additionally, I was overwhelmed by a moldy wet towel smell near our table immediately after seating. Cleanliness rating - questionable. Our server didn't greet us until a good 15 minutes after we were seated. It was odd where when he first appeared, he avoided all eye contact and tried to look at our table from the corner of his eyes. He didn't make it known that he was our server and left us looking all over until we found to host to assist us. Service - questionable. My parents and I each went with a pick 2 lunch special - steak sandwich with French onion soup, chicken avocado flatbread sandwich with tortilla soup, and strawberry + chicken salad with shrimp, lobster chowder. We munched on their complimentary warm crusty house made bread (forget the Olive Garden's bread sticks, these are 100x better! Did I mention also unlimited?) as we waited for our orders. When our orders arrived, we were surprised by the generous portion and the beautiful presentation. For $8 a plate, it was a win at first sight. And it only got better - everything tasted fresh and well made. Soups, sandwiches, and salads were perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. We polished our plates and went back to the menu to start brainstorming other lunch combo we will make at our next visit. It was the best chain restaurant meal I've had to date! You just know that the architect was a fan of the El Tovar hotel at the Grand canyon-- or.... more likely? The Fort Wilderness lodge at Disneyworld.... Plenty of exposed rough hewn beams, and Remington statues of cowboys roping everything but each other. Then, I noticed a beautiful rock bar-back, but above it? A cheap drop in tile ceiling. Oh, well. We were seated at the formerly empty table in the bar area, and Matt turned out to be a very very good waiter. Reliable, and kept both the food coming, and our iced teas full. Could someone please tell Corporate that there's a huge difference between Country and Western music? Most real western steakhouses in, well, the west, play Cowboy, or Western music, not the latest from Atlanta..... Also, please note that one real throwing rope is a great touch, but a whole slew of recently added trophy belt buckles behind the host table is a bit too much. Cloth napkins were a real nice touch. I even noticed that my wood handled steak knife still had nice finish on the wood; sometimes they've been through the steam washer so many times, they look like they were found in a dry gulch by Gabby Hayes in the late 1800s... To start, we got really, truly great brown bread!! More when we asked, too. Matt turned out to be a great waiter. THINGS TO REMEMBER? Outstanding chicken wrap appetizer. This is something you MUST try. It's really spectacular. We both had prime rib tonight, and that's consistently good. Just a brief update to the previous review to increase my rating and give the restaurant credit for "getting it right" this time: Three of us dropped in for dinner about 1800 on a Wednesday. Seating was immediate, restaurant became almost 70% full. Our waitress, Josephine, was friendly, helpful and attentive. Salads came quickly and were accompanied with the correct dressing. We each ordered the Outlaw Ribeye medium rare, and cooking was pretty close to the requested level. In all, good performance which justifies this bump up in my rating. I've only eaten at a couple of Longhorns in my lifetime and it's always been on the East Coast (Short Pump, VA) and this location. Kinda had a hankering for a steak and since this place is walking distance to my hotel I figured I'd give it a shot. Mainly from being jet lagged and knowing that I had to get back to the hotel to watch the 2 hour second to last episode of The Bachelor hahahaaa. I will say the service was fantastic! Greeted and seated promptly and my drink and salad were literally out in back of 5 minutes. Food wise went with the house salad with ranch (they didn't skimp on the croutons either) and the bone in rib eye with a fully loaded Boise (pronounced Boy-see) baked potater. My co-worker Carl had the porterhouse (because he loves meat) with some Mac n Cheese and broccoli. Overall, we both crushed our meals and our waitress was very attentive. I have never been so disrespected in my life. I came into this restaurant because I wanted some good food. I sat at the bar as I have done in the past and was waiting for a glass of wine. The manager came up to me and told me I can't sit at the bar. I was confused and asked why and I knew immediately he was judging me because of my appearance. I was so offended and embarrassed I started crying. He told me that the seat I was sitting in shouldn't be at the bar but I didn't place it there. He told me to get up... What the heck am I doing in Longhorn? Well, I read about Longhorn being good and there happened to be one right next door (walking is good!) to a hotel that I stay at for business. So, what have I got to lose? My Server/Bartender AMANDA was awesome! She was immediately attentive, friendly and inviting. I like my steak medium-rare, but not one bit over.
