There should be separate menus for this. Throughout the service the server did a good job checking on us but at the end she had dirty tables and we were neglected. The guests sitting around us were given boxes, checks, and cashed out before we ever were. We sat there for quite a while before the server offered us dessert, which by that time we were way more than ready to just leave. I understand busy, but this server prebussed our table until we only had drinks while the guests around us tables were filthy, but those people were cashed out and they left. Then we saw her snipping at a busboy to clear her tables for her. For food, 2 of us got sushi rolls, 1 of us got a steak and vegetable, and the kids chicken meal. The sushi was yummy, the steak was horrible- just horrible, and the kids was a very good portion; my son only ate the rice so the rest of us ate his food. He wasn't a fan of the sauce on the chicken. It was also very good. We had teriyaki beef, chicken, and salmon which were all delicious, along with the soup and salad. The volcano and shrimp tempura rolls were also good and full of flavor. Wonderful entree salad at Brannigans today, at least 6-7oz of lettuce. I can now understand why FD's has not been busy at all each time our group goes there. Oh well, never again. Tonight I ordered the Dave's Sassy Salad and was surprised by the portion size. It was actually flat on the plate with only a VERY small amount of salad mix. Less than a cup of salad mix, so maybe 1-1.5oz. I asked for it to be remade, assuming it may have been an oversight. The second salad arrived with a similar portion, so I told the server I didn't want it either. Our server was polite but completely unsure/untrained regarding how to resolve such issues. She could only relay what the kitchen told her, that the portion sizes were correct. She asked if I wanted anything else but only in passing on her way to another table. This implied to me that she really didn't care. A manager or supervisor was never even brought to the table, which would have been helpful in addressing the concern more directly. Getting a manager/supervisor is always expected with issues regarding food in a restaurant. For context, a friend at the table ordered a half side salad that appeared to contain noticeably more lettuce than the entrée salad I received. Based on typical expectations, an entrée salad is generally a more substantial portion. Normally 4-6 ounces for an entree salad. I have been in the restaurant business for over 45 years as a manager and owner so I completely understand restaurants have established portion standards and operational considerations. This was way beyond acceptable by any means. Needless to say I will never be back and will share my experience.

They have plenty of vegan and vegetarian options every day (e.g Butternut Squash with Kale, Roasted Cauliflower and Brussel Sprouts, Zucchini & Yellow Squash with Saffron Tomato Sauce). Grab and go lunches and salads are also available. Salad bar is fresh with a lot of choices (careful on that one though. It's determined by weight so you can go overboard easy). The Grill cooks up hamburgers and sandwiches fresh upon order along with fresh breakfasts. Soups are amazing. I love the Clam Chowder on Fridays. They frequently do a Smoked Salmon Chowder which is fabulous. Organic Spanish Lentil, Organic African Winter Squash and Kumut Stew, Creamy Cauliflower with Smoked Mozarella and Artichokes, Butternut Squash, Chicken Florentine...yeah, this place is legit. Prices would easily be doubled if it wasn't the hospital. But it is a hospital, so it's cheaper! They are always trying something new. Sometimes they strike out, but for price, variety, selection and ingenuity, you can't beat it. The manager Lisa does a really great job. I think that the company that creates the meals and recipes is not actually owned by the hospital, but it is contracted out....not sure how that works exactly, but it's working. Pretty view of the southern mountains since it is on the second floor. You can always get to go too. Now, if you are actually in the hospital as a patient, it's a different story.
