Great Lobster Roll in OB. The Lookout has the best Lobster roll in Oak Bluffs. Meaty. Warm or cold. Solid. Quality. Great service. The views are amazing. Great for people watching and watching the Ferries come in.

First night back on the island after being away for several years. My dad met me at the ferry and we decided to give the Lookout Tavern a try. At first glance the restaurant looked extremely busy but we were told a 15 minute wait would get us a table. Sure enough within 15 minutes we got a text stating our table was ready. Both of us opted for ice water with lemon for our drinks. My dad decided on the flounder taco with corn salsa and coleslaw. I love seafood so had a large lobster roll with butter and homemade chips. Everything was delicious and I would definitely return. I recommend anyone to come give this place a try. FYI: the restaurant offers a sushi menu for those who enjoy eating it. Come on over and have some great tasting food.

Best lobster rolls in MV to me! I dined here twice while on vacation. Service was always good, always a bit of a wait for a table but they move fast. The lobster roll is served cold or hot, I prefer hot lobster rolls, and comes with a side of house made chips. The chips lacked flavor and were not good. The lobster roll is a good size and packed full of lobster.

Seafood restaurant with an amazing view in Oak Bluffs. If the weather is good, try to get a seat on the deck with a view of the ocean. It was a bit busy when we went, but we were lucky to be able to get seated right away on the deck. This place was a bit pricey, but everything we had tasted great. The clam chowder was so rich and delicious. I also got the fish and chips which was less fish than expected, but crispy and great with the tartar sauce. It came with a lot of fries as well. Would definitely come back if I am in the area again.

Great lobster roll. The crab crakes were some of the best I've had. Services was also great! Drinks are strong and well made.

My friend and I decided to try this place while on a day trip to Oak Bluffs off a recommendation from someone who lives in the island! I really loved the clam chowder. It came out piping hot & had just the right amount of clams and things inside. My friend also really enjoyed her chicken salad burger. Only con- the hostesses are not friendly and are pretty unwelcoming. Our waiter was great though!

PROS: loads of street parking, good food, priced well, menu variety is plentiful, spacious inside. The waitress, Olivia, was very friendly. CONS: it gets mobbed in here so you may have to be on a waitlist OVERALL: if it's not too crowded I recommend coming here

Where in Martha's Vineyard, visiting late October can you get lunch when many businesses have already closed up for the season? So glad I asked the owner of Sanctuary for a recommendation. We walked pretty much back to the ferry dock. It wasn't on the water but across the street. The man at reception was kind enough to unload the items on a sturdy looking crate for Pygmy me to get up onto a high bar stool. I always say I wish I was 2 inches taller. The restaurant had some patrons already eating or drinking. By the time we were done the place was packed. Everything was delicious except the unagi roll was definitely not unagi but some kind of raw cubed reddish fish. M guava ribs was the tenderest almost fall off the bone, perfectly sauced. Very glad we didn't go on the optional 3 hour tour so we could admire the New England style architecture, their landscaping and have time for a leisurely meal. When we had already left the place a couple from the bus who went on the tour asked if we ate there and how it was.

This was such a nice spot to watch the game! And the food was great! Get the sushi rolls because they are known for that besides their lobster rolls! If you love lobster this is a must stop place! Also I wanted to try a different cider than the one I ordered but it was horrible, and the manager let me switch it out free of charge!

Our waitress was attentive and friendly, always making sure our waters were full and we could have refills if we wanted. My friends ordered the tacos and I felt "when in Rome" and had the fried seafood plate which had fish, scallops, shrimp, and fries for $35. While I liked the restaurant overall this was not worth $35. My meal had three scallops and 2 of them were smaller and a little mushy. Then were were 4 shrimp that weren't bad. The fish was on the smaller end and tougher than I thought it would be. I understand it's Martha's vineyard and things are more expensive there but this was steep for the quality. My friends liked their tacos as well- they just mentioned that having a third taco instead of just the two would have been nice. I would recommend Sandbar though for anyone who wants a fun environment. I'd even go back- but I'd make sure to try something else.

Orders were taken by a friendly guy who had a take for the menu and what was good and was very user friendly. We ordered the drinks and then the food. A look at the menu, I found the prices were on the high side for my taste but we are in a tourist trap and cost are what they are. The atmosphere was beach like and I loved the mix of old beach stuff with a beer bar mash up, The drinks came and for the most part all were good except for me. I ordered a traditional Mojito. Having had plenty of good ones and lot of bad one's this one was on the bad side. Tasted store bought mix and repeat with too much mint. The strong mint flavor is a dead give a way that it was premade mix. Avoid it. You want to pay $17 for a glass of sugar water that has NO ALCOHOL in it. You have been warned. The food, well all were satisfied with it except for me. My niece and her husband enjoyed the lobster roll. It was market price I don't know what that cost but I knew it was out of my price range. My wife had the fish sandwich and she LOVE it. She said that is what a fish sandwich is supposed to be like. My son had the american burger and fries combo. He said it was average at best. That good for him. I had the clam chowder. What a let down. It looked homemade but the broth was watery. Flavor was average better than a can but slightly better. I had the clam chowder at another restaurant in Mystic that was 10/10 this was 4/10. In summary, Three stars could have been better in my book but the others felt it was above average drinks and food. Recommended Yes and you decide for yourself and shoot me a line on what you think.
