So last night after our monthly neighborhood Bunco game, those of us desperate housewives who had a little too much Cabernet decided that karaoke would be a good idea. We cruised down Rocklin Road in our oversized SUV, blasting "Supersonic" by JJ Fad, with the sunroof open so everyone could see how hip we still are, even though our musical tastes have not evolved since 1984. Arrived at Loree's shack (which is, in fact, on the railroad track), and found ourselves ( at age range 32-38) some of the younger, and dare I say, hotter clientele. A cowboy was doing karaoke country. He was actually very good, but country is not my thing, so we put ourselves on the list to do a little Sirmixalot. After a couple of really strong and really cheap drinks, we had our turn at the Microphone. Our selection of music was appreciated by most of the clientele, but apparently not by one particular country Ma-ma, who walked out the door flipping us the double bird. After that show of support, of course we had to perform Supersonic, which brought all the ladies out on the dance floor. They turn off the Karaoke at 1am, so that was our cue to leave. So, 4 stars for cheap, strong ,drinks and a good karaoke selection. Minus one star for Microphone hogs who wanted to sing country all night, and playa hatin' Country Mamas. read more

Bartenders are rude and super slow. The whole place just looks dirty. But, they do have karaoke and they are 1 block from my house, so ill be back. The karaoke is fun but outdated. They have food too but have not had it and its never available when i get there. .. read more

I would give this place 1 star because it's dirty, the bartender Kevin is RUDE! Acts like a child. And told me to my face once that I actually dressed like a female AND that my friend has money and I don't! LOL OK ! After that comment I stopped buying food and drinks there. Now why then would I get five it an extra star? Jessica is waitress and bartends there and she is a sweetheart! Along with that their KJ Deanne knows karaoke etiquette. I will go no other place for karaoke than Loree's cause I've been to Opera House, Players, and Almond Tree and the KJ's all let their favorites / regulars go more often than new guests. This place was packed on a saturday night..... My kind of bar but not my kind of crowd. Not one attractive person in the bar.... There were two bartenders for this whole place and they were both extremely slow. Your drink either comes in a jar or a plastic cup. Ugh never again. read more

This is a great dive bar. I love the atmosphere, everyone is ready to party and drink and eat $1 tacos. They use cut up newspaper squares for your drink coasters. The glasses are jars. The clientele is hilarious and full of good cheer. read more

This place is definitely a "dive" in every sense of the word. You've got beer served in mason jars, RC Cola on tap, dusty tequila bottles that have sat on a shelf for 10+ years, female customers who are missing teeth, aging ex-gang bangers who look lost, and an elderly regular who sits in a corner and nurses one Bud all night long. That said, this place is a fine bar to end the night at and to pray that your hangover won't be so rotten the next morning. read more

Truly enjoyed the food and service here! We went after a day of hiking and fishing so we were tired.but the waitress was extremely nice and conversational.the beers were cold.and the food was delicious! Love this place.... cheap drinks, fresh food, fun atmosphere, friendly people.

What a great little spot. Have known Loree for 40+ years and she is one cool customer...really knows the business. The tacos are second to none in the area, and the Firebox beans are as unique as they are absolutely tasty. Great, hole-in-the-wall, quaint, rustic atmosphere and location lend an air of mystery to Loree's. Strongly recommend cruising in and hanging with the locals.' Have a couple beers or a couple shots of the amazing array of tequilas she has and kick back. Regular crowd is definitely on the blue collar side, but absolutely NO hard looks or other dirtbag stuff. Just a terrific place with a nice clientele. Haven't been there at night so no comment on the rude bald bartender,. Hard to believe Loree would ever condone that kind of attitude. read more

Stumbled across this dive after a round at Rolling Greens . Was in a bit of a sour mood after golf and was instantly cheered up when i saw the "Piggy Burger" on the menu. This burger is loaded with bacon AND sausage. Delicious!!!! 3 Sierra Nevada's later I paid my $23 tab. What a deal!! read more

This place is pretty adorable, and definitely your standard dive bar. Their clam chowder is so delicious, and they make some killer tacos. I recommend sitting at the bar for the full experience. You see some great regulars, and the bartenders are always hilarious. I enjoyed coming here. read more

Five star for Rachel and the food. One star for the big bald guy and the skinny blond chick. Rachel was warm and welcome but tough, the food was greasy and delicious. The bald guy and the skinny blond were not nice, or attentive. I ran a bar, and I was accustomed to catching folks eyes when they needed something. We were at Lorees for hours, got two separate plates of food, lots of beers, shots, two quiet women at the bar. We had to flag them down; they damn near ignored us the entire night. We asked them how the night was, smiled and asked them questions, all we got was a stoic nod. Felt like a facade to appear rough. Really unimpressed with the staff that night. That being said, the karaoke was great. read more

A group of my friends and I came in on Saturday night (all of us work in the industry- either at bars or restaurants. There were maybe 10-15 of us total). We typically go to Sully's down the street, but decided to try out Lori's. The two bartenders working (I believe their names are Pam and Kevin) were very rude to us. They would walk half way down the bar to check on the other patrons, then avoid the end of the bar where we were congregated. It took 5-10 minutes to order a drink every round and the only time either bartender was present was when they were closing out our tabs. (I was charged for an extra beer and when the bartender was informed before she ran the card, she became irritated. I never got to see a check or an itemized receipt, so I honestly have no idea what I was payed for in the end.) When we did get to order, they looked annoyed that we were making them work and never once greeted us with a smile. It was not that busy and we weren't being high maintenance or disruptive. In fact, all of us typically tip 20-50% on bar tabs when we are shown hospitality (industry takes care of industry is something we all take very seriously) however we were treated as if we were more of an inconvenience than paying customers. Was in the area and had not been to Loree's since they had a Shack in Rancho Cordova prior to it becoming a light rail station. It seemed as if was just yesterday the flavors were just as I remembered, I had to pick up lunch for my crew and ordered 10 taco and bean lunches and 10 extra tacos, most everyone who ate had never been there and all were very impressed with the Tacos but what stood out to be everyone's favorite. I am married into a Mexican family and my wife's grandmother made the best authentic Mexican beans I had ever had, took an overnight soaking the cooked with special seasonings and salt pork. I had always thought it couldn't get better until now. For being something as simple as beans who would think you could make this simple thing into a flavorful meal, well Loree's does and then some. If you have never been you must go and if your a 1st timer do your tastebuds a favor try the taco lunch with beans and you will be more than impressed, next time I am going skip the tacos instep for the fired avocado, haven't tried it yet but looked amazing. Loree's gets a 5 star from me and will add to this if Avocados hit the mark as well. Great little hidden gem with delicious 'famous' tacos dusted in parmesian cheese. Firebox beans hit the spot with a cold mason jar beer, served by a very friendly hostess. read more
