Five years ago, this place served an insanely huge tasty cheese steak - sadly those days are long gone. After re-opening the portions and quality have tanked. The steak with onion was probably 70% onion, maybe 30% meat. It was essentially a fried onion sub. For $45 (delivery driver didn't have change on him so we over tipped on the $37 rather than under tipping) we got two mostly empty rolls and none of the extra cheese we paid for. The wings (10) were awesome, but the ranch dressing spilled all over the bag and that was a bummer. We'll be looking for a new steak joint next time the mood strikes. If this was an isolated experience, I'd have shrugged it off, but the last three times have been similar experiences. read more

Closer to 3.5 stars. 2 xlarge; 1 CHSTK XC and FO, 1 CH CHSTK. Rolls were excellent, portions were light imo for $52 total. The CHSTK did not come with fried onion unfortunately, more like raw thrown on griddle last minute. Meat was not seasoned with S & P that I could taste. So I added it myself,.....made it taste much better! Kids loved the chicken chstk. Staff was very friendly and courteous. Far from the Lorenzo's I remember, this was a bad Saturday night experience. Placed my order through Grubhub with an acceptable 70 minute estimated delivery time frame. Placed my order for a Nigerian 12" sub, chili cheese fries, mozzarella sticks, and a 2-liter of Mountain Dew at 7:20pm. Called Lorenzo's at 8:41 and was placed on hold over 2 minutes. Called at 8:47 and was told the order was going out the door that moment. Added 15% tip to the delivery ahead of time. The order arrived at 9:02. Lesson learned to not pay tip before arrival of the order. The fries were congealed in Cheez Wiz, cold, and limp. Mozzarella sticks were also cold. The sub is described on the menu as turkey and roast beef, however from the picture you can see it is 10% roast beef and 90% turkey. I was really hoping for more of a 50/50 split. Very, very disappointed in a local restaurant I had thought very highly of before this experience. I will not be ordering again. And now at 10:10 they attempted to deliver the same order a second time. I wish I had a dishonest streak because I could have received double the quantity of food at half the cost. If you're a fan of hoagies you *have* to visit Lorenzo's if you're in the West Chester area. This place is infamous for their gut-busting hoagies. Their "mini" (6") is 3/4lbs of meat. Their "small" (12") is 1.5lbs of meat. Their large (22") is 2.5lbs of meat. Their motto for the hoagies is, "Where's the Roll?" and they're not kidding. You could seriously buy the 12" sandwich and use it as lunch meat for regular sandwiches for the week! Now usually more doesn't always mean better. In this circumstance, it is! They hand cut the deli meats when you order and every hoagie I've had has always been fresh and tasty. This place isn't a restaurant, it's pretty much pick-up or delivery only. This is an solid place, nothing special but it has potential. I got fried jumbo chicken wings. I also got a cheese steak hoagie. Neither one was great but it wasn't bad either. They put a nice amount of steak on the hoagie I would definitely give it another chance. read more

As I'm waiting for my delivery, I hear a car pull up. I heard the main door to my apartment building open, so I'm assuming it's the delivery person. Now I'm expecting a knock on my door. However I hear someone try to open my door multiple times, turning the knob. No knock. I wait and then open my door. The delivery driver was about to leave and says oh did you order. This was the creepiest and most unprofessional service I've ever experienced. I've heard that Lorenzo's has been shady. Tonight I experienced that. Now the food... cold and soggy. Just not the hoagies aren't they use to be anymore. The stuffed hoagies are gone what is there tastes good not like hoagies we remember from years ago. Liked the option of less meat those who preferred less had that choice. We have ordered several times since original owner passed but have to say the amount of meat has definitely gotten less and less. As I waited I could hear the chopping of steak on the grill. Personally I enjoy the steak not chopped as chopped covers a multitude of sins. I also watched another employee separating the raw steak they use which looked lean. Their steak (and hoagies) are famous for how much meat they use. The cheesesteak hoagies here are very large for the price The mini size is like, normal sandwich size, the next size is 2 meals for a normal person and the large size will feed a family of four or provide 2 meals for a 300-pound football player. They are also very heavy on the meat. If you like a high meat-to-bread and meat-to-cheese ratio, you will love these. I thought they were good but next time will request extra cheese wiz because the regular amount gets lost in the meat. You may need a fork to eat it because the amount of meat literally collapsed my entire roll and I thought for a minute they forgot to put the bottom bread on. They didn't, the massive amount of greasy meat just made the whole thing go flat. Not quite as good as Jim's, but Jim's is a 1-2 hour drive away with dubious parking, while Lorenzo's is 5 minutes away and you will likely be able to find a spot because it's not smack in the middle of the downtown. When I lived in West Chester, this was my go to spot for food. The prices are great considering the size of the sandwiches. The first time I ordered from them I got a large buffalo chicken cheese steak. I didn't realize just how big it would be...fed me for 2 days. The hoagies are huge too, I recommend getting a regular sized anything unless you are super hungry or if gluttony hasn't been checked off of your 7 deadly sins list.
