We went to Latitude 34 to have brunch but found out they are closed on Tuesdays. We walked over to Loru's Cafe instead. We have never been here before. What a great discovery! We tried the Lobster Benedict (seasonal) and the Strawberry Nutella Crepes. We were pleasantly surprised! The lobster was very flavorful on its own, but in the Benedict, even better! The crepes were good as well. There are many choices on the menu, as well as some delicious adult beverages. Alexis, our server was great! He was polite and very attentive. I stopped in for lunch on Tuesday April, 19th at about 1:00 pm. The waitress was nice and friendly. I ordered a Cobb salad with chicken. I asked for the grilled chicken as opposed to the crispy chicken. When the lunch arrived, the chicken was cold, rubbery and impossible to chew. When the waitress eventually returned, I told her and showed her the rubbery and half chewed chicken, actually bending it in front of her. She returned and said that the chef/cook said, he probably over cooked the chicken, and for "my trouble" she would take off the $3.50 that I was charged for my iced tea. WHAT?!?!?!???????? The food is okay. The pictures of the food look better than in person. The food is not the best but not the worst. Definitely like diner food, so I'd say this is a slight cut above Denny's. The portions are huge, but the ingredients are not the best quality. Ordered breakfast with 3 other people a few days ago. The breakfast potatoes were way too mushy, and the flavors were okay. I am suspicious that the potatoes are cooked out of a frozen package but I'm not sure. My friend and I ordered eggs Benedict--both of our hollandaise sauce were way too buttery. You could see the butter and egg yolk separating in the sauce, and it was greasy--this indicates that it was not prepared properly. The toast was soggy instead of toasted. The slab of ham looked super cheap, and my friend and I barely ate it. It basically looked like spam. The overall taste of the food was okay. Service was good. Probably won't return. Management should invest in higher quality ingredients and recipes --and listen to the one and two star reviews if they keep saying they value feedback from months ago. read more

Our first time at Lorus, it was a good experience the food was great and our server Alexis was the best! He provided excellent customer service he was super attentive, he made our experience a pleasant one. I would had given it 5 starts, but the patio chairs were wet from he rain and the person that seated us didn't even bother to wipe them down we had to grab dry chairs from a different table, also silverware was not properly cleaned one of the forks had food on it I had to ask for a clean one. read more

Even with being first on the waitlist, it was a few minutes to being seated and even longer before being served. But it's popular for a reason, so just be aware of the waiting. I walked in to the new restaurant, Loru's Café and was seated at a table by the owner Jose Luis. Then I was served by Lidia. I order the Chilaquiles with a side of pancake breakfast that was very good. The coffee was extremely flavorful. I drank the whole coffee pitcher that they left on my table. And to top off the great breakfast was the freshly squeezed orange juice which was awesome! I can't wait to try the lunch and dinner menu. The Loru's team was very attentive, professional, and courteous. I wish Loru's Café success! It's a great place to stop by and have a meal and drinks anytime. Went to eat there with my wife and kids yesterday. Ordered a brunch burger and fries. Burger had no seasoning what so ever , tasted bland . Aside from that I got maybe 10 French fries with my order, we showed the manager and he did get more fries that took a while to get to the table. Over all the food had no seasoning and I ended up paying $72!!! For a bland burger and fries, a sandwich for my wife and to kids breakfast. $72!!! We also noticed that the people next to us left most of their food as if they were unsatisfied with the food. Do yourself a favor and go to dennys or In n Out down the street and save yourself $40.
