First time trying this place and everything was amazing! The food and dessert were delicious. We had the carnitas panini and a crepe with ice cream, both were really good. Also tried their strawberry shake which was pretty good and refreshing. The service was excellent; we were greeted with such a great attitude. The place also looked very nice and clean. I would definitely come back!

We kept walking past this establishment on our walks and decided to go in to give them a try. We were greeted with friendly smiles and had all of our questions answered. 5/5 Ambiance: There's some seating available, but it would be difficult to cram multiple large parties. Everything looked clean and prices to items are clearly labeled. 4/5 Food: There are a wide varieties of snacks and foods. Given it was a hot day we opted for raspados. Elite tip, they have some that are lactose friendly. You also get the option of adding a condensed milk topping. While this is refreshing, it was very very sweet. I'm not an overly sweet drink person but I think many would enjoy this. I thought prices were also quite fair. 3/5

I came across this place by scrolling through Yelp to see what's new around me. I was surprised to see that there's an Antojitos place near downtown which honestly is very smart. I work downtown and wanted to see where this was located so I figured I would give them a try. They're located off second street according to their address in a wooden building but the parking and official entrance is off Winter Street. Once I arrived I was excited to see that they also offer Tortas, which worked out for me since I was hungry. The torta menu is limited, they offer carnitas, ham and cheese and a Hawaiian torta. I noticed that they also have a turkey panini. I started talking to the owners and he mentioned that they just opened in October, their current hours are M-sat 11-8 and on Sunday's 11-7. They did say the hours are subject to change as they are still trying to get a good groove going. The first time I went was on a Friday at around 4:30 which was perfect since I didn't have to wait in line. The second time I went was on a Tuesday at around 11:40, they did have a wait since that's around the same time the high school off second street has their lunch. I would suggest to go a little bit after or call in your order if you're in a hurry. Now on to the food..... I'm going to combine the food from both visits. Yes, I've gone twice already since the service is excellent, and you get your moneys worth in their snacks and tortas. I highly recommend to get the Carnitas Torta, the portions are great and you also get chips on the side with a homemade dip that's also pretty tasty. They were kind enough to give us a sample of the champurrado which is a traditional drink usually with a chocolate flavor, think of it as a thicker version of a hot chocolate. It's perfect on a cold day. I also got to try the Hawaiian torta, it tasted great but I would stick to the Carnitas one going forward. The Hawaiian torta came with ham, pineapple and cheese versus the Carnitas which come either cabbage or lettuce, tomato and jalapeño. In fact we all agreed that to Carnitas torta was a hit. We also tried the Esquite which is corn off the cob warmed up and served with your choice of mayo, cheese and powder chile, also recommend. I did not get to try the buñuelos but a friend that was with me did and she said, "This tastes just like home." That's a great recommendation for me and will give those a try on another visit. I will definitely be going back since it since it had more pros than cons. The only con is that the inside is small so it only seats 4 maybe 5, how ever they do have patio seating outside which is going to be perfect on the warmer days. Parking is better off Winter Street as well. The biggest pros is that they offer great customer service, the portions are a good value and the food is delicious. I'm glad I have something like this close to work.

Say No Less. Bomb AF! This is a brand new mom and pop shop kind of thing in 2nd street and Winter. Although there no real parking there is convenient street parking (parallel park). Once you walk up the few wooden stair steps you walk into the store and it sends off a cute but also cool vibes. It's not just food, it's not just drink but it's also Antojito as well! Once you walk in you see Giovani welcoming my friend and I into the store. I felt a warm welcome and it wasn't awkward at all to be in a store. There were A LOT of amazing food, drinks and antojitos as well. I am in love with this place not gonna lie definitely will be coming back. Now to the food: Paninis: 10/5 I am not going like I am a snob for paninis because there was a time someone I cared for before she past made the best paninis in the world. I been trying paninis and they never even come close to that standard. Except Giovanni at Los 3 Pinguinos I was close to tears eating this because it tasted so good and so similar it brought me back the happy memories that I had with someone I cared for and loss. Torta: 5/5 Tortas were nothing but AMAZING. Let's just say he did not go cheap on the food. He asked if you wanted the jalapeño tomatoes and avocado and what nots. It was not a small torta but what make him stand out amongst the other places is that he did toast the bread which I love. Bionico: 5/5 I was craving for this for a long time. Even beg my friend to make this for me until she took me here. Basically a Mexican fruit salad fresh apples bananas strawberries with some kind of sweet cream (which wasn't really sweet) coconut shaving and chocolate and what not. Eskicheetos: OMG such a bomb snack. The hot Cheetos, the cheese, the corn, the Parmesan cheese the spicy powder. Nothing short from the amazing snack. Mangoñada (slush) so good especially in the heat. Vanilla Raspado: so good. Cucumber Lime water was so good and refreshing. Service: 5/5 Giovanni service was nothing short from having an AMAZING customer service. He was very welcoming and very attentive and paid attention to my allergies. We sat here for a while and he did not try to shooo us and try to make us leave. ***Currently Giovanni is the only one working there right now as I see So please don't expect a fast food service. ***

Great food and value. This is a new store opened in one of the wooden buildings on 2nd street, diagonally across from Innovations High School. The staff who worked there when we visited were very nice and kind enough to explain each snack to us, since we are not so familiar with Mexican snacks and desserts. We ordered Eskicheetos (cheese corn with chipotle sauce, and mayonnaise on top of a bed of Cheeto) and Fresas con Crema (sliced fresh strawberries with cream, topped with crispy rice, coconut, and granola for crunch). Both were very delicious and fresh. Would visit again!

I've been here once as my chiropractor is right behind this place so i was intrigued with what they offer as I love Mexican treats! It was weekday midday around lunch time so there were a lot of students in the area hanging out. It was a little busy as EMS was called. There was one gentleman working so apologized for the delay in assisting me, but I wasn't ready with my order so it was ok! I ended up ordering a elolte in a cup with flaming hot Cheetos, strawberry agua Fresca, and ordered nachos for my friend. My friend enjoyed her nachos which looked loaded! I thought my agua Fresca was too sweet for me, like the strawberry syrup wasn't mixed well. My elote was ok. Although it came in a large cup, sometimes more isn't a good thing. They had other items on their menu too that i would love to try the next time i visit! Glad to see another place popping up offering different choices of food and drink! read more

I've only been here a couple of times, but both times I've tried different things, I ordered a Torta de jamón to go, when I opened the container I realized I had been given a torta de carnitas, I wasn't mad because I like carnitas, and it was honestly pretty good. I've tried their agua de Jamaica con fresa, very good and refreshing, they didn't have that one today, but they let me try agua de fresa, and it was just as delicious as the other one, it's not overly sweet which I appreciate, I'm really glad they're within walking distance from my job can't wait for the summer to try more things from their menu and sit in the patio outside! Giovanny is the person I've seen there, he's really nice and welcoming, he's attentive and gets the orders out quick! read more

Great and friendly service. I called early and the owner (I'm guessing) answered. He was driving in to work and took my order. I'm asked for a few things off the sandwich and he actually remembered! I arrived when they opened at 11:30 to grab my food. The carnita torta was so good. Full of flavor and enough to have for lunch the second day. I also got a strawberry hibiscus agua fresca which was refreshing but super super sweet. They have loads of Mexican treats and snacks! Come visit this local shop you won't be disappointed. read more

Working nearby and stopped in for something on the go. Giovanni who Im assuming is the owner as other posts have mentioned is one of the coolest dudes ever. Decided to sit down instead and worth it. Even after a little spillage mishap on my part he was all over it and didn't bat an eye . As far as the grub, I had a chili dog and definitely quality and would recommend . Nice bun and the dog and toppings tasty. Ice cream coffee drink hit the spot as well. A lot more on the menu to check out. Reasonably priced and a chill spot for sure . Am hearing there are evening events happening there as well and definitely going to check that out and you should too ! Definitely be back not only for the food and drink but the vibe. Was nice being around and chatting with such a pleasant and positive person in a world full of a lot of negativity. read more

Their antojitos are delicious and reasonably priced. We met the owner, Giovani, and he was super friendly, I am excited to see this place become more and more known because it brings diversity to our city. It's super clean and a perfect spot to hang out and eat good food. Will definitely e coming back. read more

What a great find! Stopped in here to grab a sandwich for my drive back to the Bay Area. Owner was there (sorry dude I'm forgetting your name , started with a G) behind the counter and greeted me warmly. I went with the carnitas torta, it was delicious! Fresh and hot and what a steal for less than $9 with tax! He chatted me up the whole time and was just the friendliest guy. He didn't have a place to fill my reusable water bottle, so he insisted on giving me a free bottle of water for the road! Will definitely be back next time I'm in town! read more

Delicious!! I wish I would've took photos but I was ready to dig in! Customer service was great! My partner ordered the tostilocos and I ordered chili nachos which were so BOMB! we even left with some piña colada raspado samples which just hit the spot. 100% recommend. Check them out, you won't regret it. read more

This snack has so much to offer I will be back. Tried a sample of the Diablitos and it was tasty. really enjoyed my Raspados and carnitas torta. My tween declared it "the best milkshake I've ever seen in my life," and honestly, that alone made it worth the stop on our mother-daughter trip. Taste-wise, it leaned very sweet for me and didn't have a ton of flavor depth beyond sugar overload. But clearly the goal here is maximal fun and aesthetic, and they absolutely nailed that. It's basically a photo op you can drink. The shop itself was surprisingly quiet when we visited in the evening--we had the whole place to ourselves--but there were games to play while waiting for our order (we pulled out Pick Up Sticks, which transported me straight back to my 90s childhood living room). It wasn't even really warm. Only placed in a waffle iron for a few seconds. Second, it seemed very dry and crumbly, maybe even overbaked. I thought the ideas at Black Rock are fun, and I think trying one of their milkshakes should be my next visit. However, there are a lot of great ice cream spots in Reno. It was a warm day so I decided on a double scoop in a cup, one pistachio and one sea salt caramel. The double scoop was huge, definitely no skimping and only $10. There was one person ahead of us and then tons of people piled in after we did so we got there at a really good time! There was only employee working (I think he may have been the owner). I felt so bad because it was just him and he had a line almost out the door but if he was stressed he did not show it. He was friendly and so professional. The inside is pretty small but there some places to sit and if the inside is full the grass area right outside isn't a bad place to enjoy your treats. There are some other local shops in the area that make great ice cream exactly how I like it, which is the only reason for 4 stars. I'm not sure this would be my top place for ice cream again. The smallest "one scoop" size is actually nearly two full scoops. Could be a good thing for some, but a kids scoop is always appreciated for my toddlers, especially a a slightly discounted price. That is not an option here. There are a few small tables inside to enjoy your treats and lots of to-go options which is always nice. The place was clean and well decorated. It was steadily busy while we visited, indicating that this place is likely here to stay. Overall, worth stopping in if you're in the area. I also liked that the cone itself had strawberry flavor woven into it rather than just being dyed pink or coated in toppings. I originally planned to get a second flavor to try, but the single scoop cone was over $10 so we decided to just share. We also came after seeing an Instagram post about their seasonal Lucky Charms cone and thought it included the ice cream shown in the photo, but it turned out to just be the cone. The advertising appeared to be made with AI and, for that reason, was a bit misleading when it came to representation of the ice cream available. Parking was probably the biggest challenge. The lot is very small and with the one-way directions in the lot, and around the block, it took a bit to find a spot. Inside there are only a few seats. There were four stools at a counter, and with another family there we ended up sharing a single bar stool. The bright interior makes it a place you want to hang out, but the limited seating makes that tricky. Still, the ice cream itself was very good and it was a fun outing with my daughter.
