Stopped by yesterday after Colts practice. First time coming here and it was very cool. The salsa was so good!!! We had 5 people and we all got something different. All of us were very happy with our meals and walked out miserably full. We got the chicken and shrimp chipotle, chicken quesadilla, beef chimichanga, pastor tacos, and an agave burrito. Only complaint was my daughter said it didn't look like a quesadilla But the taste was amazing! This place has been consistent for us. We like to grab a seat in the bar. Tables are all high-top (I think?), so for some folks that may not be preferred, but the volume-level is good and they have multiple TVs around if you're into that. Service is prompt and efficient as they quickly brought us chips and salsa, which both passed our taste test. Prices are a bit higher than the typical Mexican joint, but we like to split the fajitas [chicken - $18] as they are truly enough for the both of us. Came here for dinner on a busy Friday evening. Super fast seating and fast and attentive service. Highly recommend the Agave margarita. Date had the spicy margarita and said it was the best he's ever had! Mole sauce on the enchiladas was delicious and don't sleep on the salsa and Guac. The food that Laura had the kitchen staff prepare for me was: mar de tierra three way fajitas tacos chips & guac/queso Paloma Margarita Cazuela Margarita Ummm ya...I sampled everything and the rating was a 10/10 on everything except the queso..the queso I gave a 9/10 but it was still great! The cool thing was they tasted even BETTER warmed up the next day so feel free to take food to go if you don't finish because they have large portion sizes. Ok so. It's Mexican. But an uptick in just not the usual Mexican. The place was a different vibe than just your typical Mexican joints. It's very modern, clean and trendy. Sat at the bar. Ordered drinks and got them fairly quickly along with chips and salsa. To say the salsa was a highlight. It had an amazing slow heat build to it. It was addicting. Took forever for what it seemed like to get our order in. Saturday night. One other person at the bar top we waited beyond 15 minutes which is timely but we weren't in a hurry. We were to busy smashing the chips and salsa. Loved the fresh & different offerings on the menu. It actually surprised me. I ended up getting the poblano pollo crèmea dish. Which was super rich. I couldn't finish it it was so rich. The down on this we ordered Queso as an app and it came with our meal. We didn't even touch it so it was $7 down the drain. We even specified we wanted it first. Hence the 4 star. 2 meals 4 drinks 1 Queso was $72 without tip. So kinda pricey for Mexican! read more

Ambiance: Los Agaves has a upscale bar feel that feels like it belongs in Florida. The booths are well-spaced and the seating is luxurious and plush. The place also has a killer hispanic pop radio station that is pretty infectious and the staff are friendly although a tad aloof at times. Food: The table chips and salsa here are pretty standard. No fancy salsa options but thin and crispy chips and a solid tomato salsa will get the job done. We did get the choriqueso which was an excellent appetizer, they use a white cheese which is a little milder but allows the generous bits of spicy chorizo at the bottom to shine through. For mains, I ended up sharing the pastor and cohinitia pibil tacos with my wife and both were absolutely superb. Each dish comes with three medium-sized soft corn tortillas which they pack fairly full. The pastor was savory with a good amount of earthy achiote paste being punctuated by sweet caramelized onions and tangy pineapple. The cohinita was very different with a smoky savory flavor accented by spices like cloves and allspice. The cohinita very well might have been smoked in banana leaves which is how it is traditionally cooked. The tacos were served with a small green salsa that was super hot but flavorful. The only stumbling point was the Mexican rice which had that par-cooked instant rice flavor and not enough tomato for my liking. Overall I was blown away at finding actually authentic tasting pork tacos in Indiana. This place knows how to make a flavor-packed street taco and some things like their spicy green salsa show they don't just compromise for the Midwest palate. They do up-charge for this authenticity however ($16 per taco plate) and there is no option to order tacos a-la-carte which seems silly but these are minor gripes. I would gladly come back here again and plan on trying their massive margaritas the next time I do. read more

Came in Memorial Day evening, the place was largely empty. In spite of this, the hostess seated us in the bar. First two drinks I tried to order, they were out of, leading my wife and I to get waters. Food was fast and good, but quality and quantity seemed lacking when compared with the price, (when compared with other restaurants in area.) Salsa was unique. Much more peppery based and a more powdery texture than most Mexican restaurants. Decor was interesting. Music was that of a band they plays covers in their own style, but was piped in, not live. The food was sooo good I didn't even take pics it was gone before I realized I wanted too lol The shredded chicken and ground beef burritos were great and the chicken flautas were delicious only critique was the Mexican street corn we ordered was just canned corned in a bowl still with the water it was in the can with covered in a goop of white cheese it was runny and not at all what was pictured on the menu. Maybe the best Mexican I've ever had! I'm not a fan of a lot of Mexican places because the food isn't fresh and feels slopped on a place. This restaurant far surpassed my expectations! The setting: myself, my husband, and our two young children for an early dinner on a Friday. The negatives: The food/atmosphere combo was not good enough to warrant the prices. It was typical Mexican fare. Not amazing, not terrible. They sat another table RIGHT next to ours- like the back of my chair was 6 inches from the chair behind me. And this was right after we requested another table because it would have been 12 inches away from other diners directly on the other side of a pony wall. Just tried this tonight for the first time and can't wait to come back! Valeria was our awesome server- so knowledgeable about the menu and very friendly- excellent service. And the food? Just as excellent. My husband and I start judging a place by their chips and salsa. So delicious. I had a Margarita flight and my husband had a frozen Mango margarita- he loved it. I had a Chile Relleno- best one I ever had! He ordered Enchiladas Crema and raved about them. The atmosphere was great, too- modern, high loft ceilings and at least 9 TVs- the sports bar of Mexican restaurants! If you know me, you know that Mexican Cuisine is not my favorite. Let me say that Los Agaves might convert me. Bare in mind I've only been here the one time, and will update this review should it change, but I LOVE this place. The Margaritas were amazing, the food was top notch, the service was excellent. I really cannot think of a negative thing here. As far as margaritas, I got the flight, which included a traditional margarita, an agave margarita and a "black" margarita which basically had blackberry puree in it to make it a bit sweeter. My wife got the spicy margarita which was also excellent. Now, if I had to pick something apart here, it would be cost. The spicy margarita comes in a small glass, and is $14. Pretty pricey for a Mexican Cantina type of restaurant. Especially since my flight was $12. Anyways, on to the food. The complimentary chips and salsa were great! The chips tasted very fresh and not too greasy. The salsa was good, but nothing out of this world. I ordered the Carne Asada dinner, which was a full thin steak marinated and wood fired grilled. It was FANTASIC and I actually dreamt about it that night (I know, I have issues). It was served with charred peppers, onions and cactus (forgot the exact name) as well as grilled cheese that was so tasty it nearly made me cry. It comes with 2 flour tortillas and extra cold veggies in case you want to get crazy and make a taco or two out of the food. My wife got the Shrimp fajitas, and while she was not super impressed, she said it was perfectly good. My brother in law got the "Bandera" burrito...which I will warn you now...is big. Let me clarify...it is BIG. It has basically the whole kitchen sink thrown in there, and then colored as the Mexican flag with salsa on top. Pretty cool, pretty tasty and way too filling. Again, I plan on coming a few more times to make sure that I didn't come on the best night ever....but as of right now, if someone wants to go out for Mexican food....it is this place or nothing for me. read more

My family and I tried out los agaves grill in Westfeild for the first time for my birthday dinner .They seated us almost immediately ,it was packed for Saturday night love the ambiance and decoration we had a very friendly server willing to explain the menu to us large menu lots of variety to choose from manager was very friendly asked if I wanted a shot for my birthday food portions were good size for the price and delicious . They even brought out two deserts for my birthday . We ate here tonight and it was a great night for patio dining. This is the first time I have been inside this location since The Stacked Pickle went out of business. They did a good job with the remodel of this place. They have about 6-7 tables outside which are great for dining if the weather is good. It isn't covered so If it's raining it won't be open. A couple came in and dined near us on the patio with their beautiful Rotweiler with them so I assume the patio is pwt friendly which I love that as a dog owner of two. There were no drink specials this evening but their margaritas were delicious. We ordered the Agave dip for appetizer and loved it. It's pretty much cheese dip with beef, beans and pico in it. Chips were hot and fresh. I usually get carne Asada but I had just came from a dental appointment so I got a beef chimichanga and it was okay. We also got a Poblano chicken which was delicious. Service was quick and attentive and no issues with anything. Certainly a welcome addition to our area. read more
