This place is always clean and decorated all year around. All of the employees are polite, and the turn around time on food orders is pretty quick. I often order take out for breakfast and dinner, and I've never had any problems. We love their shrimp fajitas and their delicious breakfast plates. Above all else, their prices! This is one of many Mexican restaurants located up and down Foothill Blvd. in the Verdugos. They have some more complicated and enjoyable dishes, for when you need more than just your average taqueria, including a nice selection of seafood specialties. The young gentleman that took my order was the most professional person I've dealt with at this establishment. He was detailed, super nice and had such great customer service. He was also the one delivering that day (1/25/14). Food was still average (ordered the papas con huevos). Dynamic delight in Sunland. Let me begin with some context to better validate this review. You see, i love to cook and that's why my wife claims she stays married to me. That being stated, we do eat out but on most occasacions, the experience is a disappointment. Our restaurant outing is compared to our home cooked meals (what i can prepare at home). If it is just as good or better, then the restaurant is a home run. Los Arcos for us was a home run, and a pleasant surprise, authentic, quick lunch service, and food has the unique quality of having subtle distinctions, not like a cookie cutter place. I was on this side of town for a meeting and had to grab dinner. I ordered a carne asada quesadilla. I don't think that I should judge this place based on this item because the quesadilla was a disappointment in that it lacked the most essential ingredient: cheese, but thanks for saving me the calories! Besides that, the carne asada was tender and had good flavor. They offered free chips and homemade salsa. When I asked if there was another type of salsa, they made me pico de gallo on the spot. So even though this wasn't a good quesadilla, I'm sure that it's worth trying something else from their menu, such as an extensive seafood (mariscos) menu and handmade tortillas. read more

This is another one of those little Mexican food places that are hidden gems! This location was previously also a Mexican restaurant but was below average in quality. I tried it twice and gave up on it. The new restaurant on this site is far and away better than before! The name is different also, and they redid the dining room. They are fairly new there, having opened up/changed operator within the last year. Price is a bit higher for some items than other similar restaurants, but that is more than made up for in quality. I have had the carne asada plate several times and they do the steak just right! All of the usual suspect dishes are there too and all good quality! Staff is nice, friendly and welcoming, and a pleasure to deal with. Close to home for me, but I go out of my way on the ride home from work to grab dinner there. One final item, their tortilla chips are quite savory-I don't know how they make them but they are always crisp and tasty, unlike many other similar venues. I came by here recently on the recommendation of a friend. Sure enough, the food was very tasty, with lots of seafood options, which I love. I would definitely go back. The beverage choices seemed somewhat limited (I would have like horchata at a place like this, which they didn't have available). In terms of ambiance, its a smaller place with mostly booth seating, and the interior walls painted up with some really awesome murals. Lastly, I drove by the other day and saw that they deliver. I would give this place about a 3.5. It's not the best, but I find myself constantly going back here with cravings. Much like my other taco shop orders, I like to get tacos al pastor and a carnitas burrito. I have also had a chicken burrito in the past and this my gf's goto. This food is always flavorful. I'm not much on their menudo since it doesn't have hominy. I haven't had it in couple years because of this, and I think it is a white menudo. Their corn tortillas are homemade and excellent. They charge $2.50 for a small 10 oz cup.. 2 sips and it's gone, plus I usually order my food spicy.. Ill probably get food there once in a while to go, but its not worth it to spend $6.50 on my drink.. The free salsa including chips is a nice home-made stingy starter and the breakfast dishes abound, including a machaca scramble that is so fluffy and tastefully concocted with fresh bell peppers, tomatoes, and onions. The restaurant seats about 25 at full cap, so it's a pretty small place, and there's only one cook that I've seen so far, but his rice and beans and the fresh corn tortillas (a regular staple in Mexican eats) are truly a cut above!
