This is the best local bagel shop that we always go to. Growing up in a small town, we didn't have many options for restaurants or food shops. Eureka didn't have any chain restaurants and only had mom-and-pop restaurants and shops. As a kid, we didn't appreciate the local spots much until we were older and moved away, only having big chain restaurants. I craved Los Bagels every day, so every chance I had when I was in town visiting my family, we would always come here. My go-to is their slug bagel, but every single bagel they have is delicious. My friend originally from Eureka recommended one place to eat and it was this place. We also saw it listed in a tourism brochure that advertised outdoor seating. Came by for breakfast. It was pretty busy. All but one indoor table was taken.. Luckily all the outdoor seating was available. (It was a chilly morning) They had two picnic tables and two small metal tables. We had our dog with us so it was great. Though she tried to follow anyone trying to go in or coming out, that had food. Haha. For March they were having some anniversary specials. I got the bagel with lox and cream cheese and a small coffee. In addition, we also tried their chorizo scram. The chorizo scram was ok, according to my husband. Thee chorizo had flavor. The eggs were soft scrambled. But there was not enough cheese, like barely any. You get to pick your flavor of bagel and they do toast it. Same for the cream cheese and lox bagel. I really wanted the walnut raisin but didn't think the "sweet" would go with the savoriness of the lox. They really pile on the cream cheese and there was so much smoked salmon. I definitely had to scrape some of the cream cheese off. BUt it was very yummy. There were 3 different types of coffee and it was self service. I usually love Los Bagels. I like the bagels although they get really hard after 2-3 days. This is the second time I've purchase their cream cheese and this is the second time it has molded extremely quickly. It's really disappointing considering their cream cheese is pretty expensive. Kept refrigerated the entire time so there isn't really a good reason for it to be molding like this and before the sell by date :( read more

It's nice that so many people are having good experiences here. It's terribly disappointing to me how rude the employees are and it keeps me from being able to want to patronize this business. The boy child working the Arcata store today scoffed at giving me 1s so I could tip him, then said "you're welcome" without being prompted midway through our interaction. Pleasantly surprised with the amount of bagel options! Super into the cream cheese, it almost has a little hint of lemon in every bite. The garlic bagel could've have had more garlic. I wanted to order the salt bagel, but there looked like almost no salt on it. Still, they were absolutely delicious! It was perfectly toasted and had a GREAT amount of cream cheese! Really happy to have found this place. They have gluten free and regular bagels which you can get in a variety of combos, with toppings like peanut butter, smoked albacore, lox, and of course cream cheese, as well as coffee, cookies, and some sweet empanadas. My boyfriend got the chorizo and egg sandwich which he loved on a "slug" bagel (just more hot dog bun shaped) and I got a gluten free with cream cheese and albacore. The employees were super friendly and sweet and set the tone for the place because everyone inside seemed to be in a good mood-- a woman walked in and started dancing to the music, for example. I was craving a good bagel this morning and found Los Bagel and I am so glad I did, thank you Yelp. Conveniently located downtown Eureka in Old Town on 2nd street, this is the spot for good bagels and amazing cream cheese. I ordered the cucumbin on a garlic bagel and it sounded different but I wasn't disappointed at all. The larrupin and topped with the slug sauce created some amazing flavors. The coffee was pretty good as well. The bagel shop is really cool. The decorations create a cool vibe. Lots of seating outside. The employees are happy and motivated and the service is outstanding. They were busy but the employees kept things moving and no one waited very long. I will certainly be back tomorrow for another cucumbin bagel and coffee. This place just doesn't respect the smear. They barely give you any cream cheese and the bagel is expensive the toppings are expensive and have always been well before Covid and inflation. They microwave their eggs yet charge prices for their egg sandwiches like they are something high end. I just can't get behind this place. I'll buy a bagel here and there but I'm always upset because it's the most expensive bagel in town and it's not even full size all their bagels are mini bagels. The service is 1/4 or less the speed you experience in any popular bagel place. I'll end on a nice note that the restaurant itself is somewhat cute. read more

Well, to start with the positive. The bagel was tasty. I got the veggie delight on a multicultural bagel, add cucumbers, with garlic chive cream cheese. Now everything else, service was very slow, the employees were dismissive and it did not seem like they were having the best time. There were 4 employees there when I was. Awesome place! A unique combination of a New York bagel shop and Mexican fare. They incorporate tomatillos and jalapeños in their toppings and bagels. I had a jalapeño bagel with plain cream cheese, and it was excellent. The bagel had a great chew, the jalapeño was tasty and the heat wasn't overwhelming, and the cream cheese was tangy and(I think) had some lime juice in it. We also split a lime corn sugar cookie. There were at least 3 employees behind the counter in the not even remotely busy restaurant just hanging out. OMG off the hook deliciano!! We came with out of town friends and our experience surpassed our expectations. Seriously. Bagels are toasted, served open face and full of yumminess. Most topped with "snail slime" I think it's called. Lots of textures, color and super tasty. We also split the house salad that easily was shared by all 6 of us (such a damn deal!!). The workers were nice! But I was very disappointed by the bagels. My husband and I both got the bacon, egg, and cheese scram bagel. Our bagels were both very dry and crunchy. Hard to eat. It also didn't really have any cheese on it! Maybe it would have been better with some cream cheese! Not sure!! The vibe of the place is good. People seem to really love it! Loved everything going on here. I stopped by on a Tuesday morning and the place was hopping with other smart people who knew this was the place to be. BAGELS. The bagels had a good chew and harder outer shell. The Parmesan bagels actually had a Parmesan taste and the everything bagel (here called "multi cultural") had the perfect coating. I went back after breakfast and bought a bottle of the seasoning mix (deemed 'slug slime'). The bagels were toasted perfectly and they even added butter to really bring out the flavors going on. FOOD. My partner and I opted for the cheese scram and bacon scram. The eggs came out beautifully cooked. Rather than throwing a slice of partially melted cheese, the cheese was incorporated so delicately into the egg. It made for a heck of a good bite. We also got a fruit coffee cake (it had a fancier name than this) and it was scrumptious and we snacked on it between hikes for the day. ATMOSPHERE. The staff were jokey and nice. It was a lovely environment, but what else could you expect from someone who sells 'slug' bagels (bagels in the shape of a banana slug AKA rectangles). Los Bagels is fantastic. The line was kicking the entire time we were there but they moved things along at really excellent pace. We got there around 10am so breakfast it was. I went with the "make your own bagel" option and got lox, cucumber, tomato and onion and everything was fresh and delicious. My husband went with the scrambagel with ham and cheese on a multicultural bagel (their version of the "everything" bagel) and he reported that it was delicious. I also got the strawberry scone which was amazing! We also got lattes and the beans they use were so good! My husband and I were making our way to Lassen National Park later that day so we also got a couple of peanut butter and jelly bagels which held up fantastically and made a great lunch once we made it to the park. 1st time here on an off chance as we're going around downtown to look for coffee. What a find and what a wonderful experience both with the food and the staff. They have taken the appropriate COVID-19 protective measures which is much appreciated. Apart from that the staff were jovial, friendly, accommodating, and most importantly prompt in their food delivery. The cappuccinos were definitely something unexpectedly good. The foam and the coffee were just right unlike many places which over do the milk. The bagels and the toppings for them were fresh, juicy, and delicious. I totally appreciated the ambiance and hopefully once all this craziness subsides we can actually enjoy the the really we decorated inside. The walls and the tables were festooned with artifacts and photos of friends of the place with a particular emphasis on Mexican and Jewish imagery which I found fascinating and lovely. Stopped by to grab some bagels for work around 745 on a weekday morning. Quite a few people already. I grabbed 18 bagels and (dozen for $12, otherwise $1.75/bagel) and 2 custom cream cheeses recommended by the staff - jalapeno and garlic. I was just about to walk out and the bread caught my eye - so had to go back for the apple/raisin loaf. I actually didn't try any of the bagels - but the everything slug looked great. The clinic devoured them, did try the bread which was moist, good amount of apple and raisins, not too sweet. First time at this location and really in general, it was wonderful! I came early in the morning and Nat rang me up while handling the 8 am rush with such kindness. Frank and Kane in the back were pushing out bagels perfectly, constantly making as if they were masters. They have all got to get a reward for the sheer amount of people coming in at this hour.
