Been here a few times. Always enjoy the food here, everything we've had was delicious, particularly the siete mares soup. This place has been here a long time and when you eat here, the food speaks for why this is so. The service, well... could be better, but the food, love it. I would have gone with five stars, but to be direct, the sales tax math is off consistently here-- California is outrageous so far as tax is concerned but 11% or 12% is what the staff have gone with on my receipts-- and I do typically tip 20% for decent service, but I prefer when the math is correct. read more

I have been coming to this restaurant in this same location since 1985. Over the years it has grown and been redecorated a few times. One thing that stays the same is the owner Nick & the excellent Mexican food. Everything Ive ever has which is most of the menu is excellent. My personal favorites are the Chile Verde plate, Cheese Enchiladas and the Ceviche must be the best in Southern California! Thank you Nick for over 40 years of great meals!! Talk about hidden gems! This place is IT! I was craving good seafood and my husband found this place. I ordered the mojarra al mojo de ajo and it was exactly what I hoped for. Excellent flavor and crunch in every bit. Comes with beans and rice but I totally could have had the mojarra on its on because it was that good. I also tried their shrimp ceviche and it was so delicious and the perfect botana on a hot day. Spice level on the ceviche was on point! Their margaritas paired well the meals and I highly recommend you try the mango one. This is definitely my new go to for authentic Mexican antojitos. Really good Mexican food tonight at a new restaurant for dinner. I had two chicken street tacos and two chicken enchiladas with guacamole. The guacamole is good but it had to much chopped tomatoes in it which waters it down and takes away from the natural good taste of the avocado. Ice tea is great here and the service is polite but very slow. Chips are warm and light. They do shrimp and ceviche here many ways. read more

The food we ordered was really tasty! My husband and I shared the Molcajete de Mariscos & Molcajete Moreliano. Spicy and delicious. Came with a side of rice, beans, and flour tortillas. We came on a Saturday around 8:30pm and it wasn't busy so we were kind of unsure of how it would be but I'm glad we stayed! Just got home from trying out this place for the 1st time. We always pass by it & it's one of those " We have to try it". It was calm not many people and just chill for a Sunday evening. Service was fast & very good. My husband & I been to a few places for Siete Mares & never had it this good. I had a Shrimp Cocktail with a Modelo Michi. My husband is the type of man who will not take food home. We are here to eat so eat but today he made an exception because the food was so delicious. He knew that he would regret it if he left it. I've came here when I was younger we were fans but now it's like what is happening to this place maybe they changed owners or cooks seems to me like they got lazy making their food . Chips salsa were good .. the place is still the same inside just with wall paintings that are really awesome but the food is like what happened I don't understand over the years this place has changed the aguachiles are way tooo spicy this is not your regular aguachiles it taste more like Chile than Chile and limon how they should be I took it home and fixed it myself I couldn't eat it and I can tolerate spicy but this dish is not the same . The shrimp ceviche in a cup cocido a limon I don't understand if they changed owners or cooks but look at the chunks of Chile and tomato plus it hardly has shrimp very disappointing. 5/26/2022 Bad experience with today's lunch. This restaurant's been in existence for over 30 years. All my friends back in the days used to eat here a lot. I normally eat the Ceviche Pescado. The prices has increased, and the Ceviches Pescado was over season with too much salt. The food wasn't consistent. The waitress did not compensate me for the loss. But only ask if I'd like something else. I did order fish tacos, they were great but overpriced. About $5.50 per taco. She also over charged me for the coffee. About $3.99 then when I normally paid a few weeks ago. I would not recommend Ceviche shrimp or pescado here at this place because they over season it with too much salt. My final comment. They have too much competition around the city of Orange near the circle. I hope moving forward they don't overpriced or over season the foods with too much salt. I wouldn't recommend taking any family or friends here. read more

Isoura our server was nice and friendly we asked her about the menu and we ordered accordingly. Appetizer: Chips and Salsa The chips were fresh and tasty and we had two kinds of dip. Entrée: I ordered: The Carne Asada Plate Two large pieces of beef, rice, beans, and a small salad. included; was some flour tortillas. A good combination of flavors. I drank a Diet Coke to balance my meal. Diana ordered: Two Chile Rellenos Plate Two green chiles battered and stuffed with cheese. with sauce. included: beans, rice, a small salad, and flour tortillas. All was fresh and vert tasty. Diana drank a Diet Coke with her meal. Dessert: Flan Two flan with creamy custard and with caramel on top. They were delicious. I thanked management for allowing me to take a few photos. This place has a HUGE menu, but I had heard so much about the signature dish: Siete Mares ($14.95 - Seven Seas), I had to order it. Siete Mares is a caldo made with clams, crab, fish, octopus, scallops, shrimp and squid. In addition, to having fresh seafood, what makes this dish is the broth. The broth is made with fish stock, tomatoes, epazote, cilantro, onions and garlic. There were also fresh onions and cilantro on the side. I have had this dish in LA, at places where my Mexican friends tell me they make the best Siete Mares. However, this one is better than any place I have tried it in LA. The caldo was packed with seafood!!! There was a ton of shrimp, big pieces of fish, a lot of octopus, loads of small scallops and a nice portion of crab. I didn't eat the crab because I had a tie on and I didn't want to make a mess. However, it was a large crab - Not the skinny a$$ snow crabs you get at the buffets. The broth was nicely infused by all the ingredients and had a nice kick to it: The only downside on the food is that the chips were kind of stale and the salsa, although homemade, was not that great. They have Jarritos in a variety of flavors - I had the tamarindo w/ real cane sugar: 4 Stars for both. The ambiance is very casual. There was one TV in front that everyone was watching futbol - Barcelona vs Scotland. The tables and bathroom were clean: 3 Stars. The service was leisurely to say the least. The food took quite a while (which is fine because this dish should not be made hastily). However, the waitress never checked on me, never asked me if I wanted more tortillas and when I asked for the bill, it came very traditional Latin country style - "When she put it on the table". I'll give her a free pass though, because although she was not rude, she was curvy and super cute!!!: 3 Stars. I would drive out of my way to come here. I can't wait to return to try the cocteles, langosta (lobster) and other seafood dishes. Oh yeah, and best of all, to see the cute waitress again!!! read more

Hello we had lunch before going to sea world food was great but the only problem your going to have is with the waiter Vicky we asked if could have more sodas Coca-Cola in bottles and she they had ran out but when we went back and paid my daughter saw the fridge right in front of the register full of Coca-Cola . She denied us from it . Then as my daughter was paying she also told my daughter that her card was denied . But the minute parents get the register oh wait it worked . They can't even print you a receipt of what we ordered so I had to triple check we were charged correctly since we were a big group. The service was okay but kept having to ask for simple things like napkins and utensils.
