Awful tacos! Taco Bell would have been better! We got pork pastor, carne asada, fish taco, and shrimp. Pork pastor was the worst, dry and flavorless just hunks of chewy overcooked pork on a dry tortilla. Carne Asada was second worst, no flavor and dry. Shrimp was also unseasoned and tastes bland. I had to ask for salsa just to be able to eat these. Fish taco was decent, nothing amazing but compared to the others it was better. Size of tacos are 3/4 bites each. Margaritas were on point, which is why they get one star. $68 with tip, so you would think they would at least try to make the food taste good. read more

Came for dinner on a Monday Night. Not a fan of Mexican restaurants that charge for chips, but didn't need them anyways as we are watching our calories. The grilled fish taco and carne Assad taco were very flavorful. The ahi tostado is kind of a train wreck. Ahi was good as were the other ingredients but you basically have to eat everything off with a fork and eat the bottom tortilla as a big chip. My field got the enchiladas and loved the flavor and salsas. Got a skinny margarita with a upgrade to a decent tequila and it ended up being $13 which is way to much. It was small and not strong at all. I pay $15 for a large with Don Julio at many other upscale establishments. read more

You have got to bring a friend and relax in this spot. Best seat in the house is the window area facing Newport street ! Couple of Coin Don Julio Margs and good company and good tunes. Had the twenty minute chicken and it was amazing. I love the sauce it was served on and asked for more. You should too Sunshine, my waitress, was pretty good. I wasn't lacking a thing. Well I liked everything about this place. Convenient location with plenty of of free parking nearby. We came at their busiest time and were told it would be a 15 minute wait. We were seated in under 10. Despite being busy our friendly server (Laura) patiently talked through the menu options especially related to dietary restrictions with us. Had our drinks and appetizers quickly. Guac was great btw and chips were warm and fresh. Tacos are the way to go and I especially recommend the grilled fish. Just perfect spicing to my taste with some heat but not overpowering. Green chili and adobo chicken were also highlights. Just a great atmosphere full of energy. If service, fun atmosphere and great food are what you're after, can't beat this place. read more

What happened to this place ?! My husband and I have been going here for years it was always fantastic. We haven't been in awhile and wow am I disturbed. Sticky tables, flies everywhere presentation of food and staff messy and the food was awful bad queso brown guac my fish tacos were insanely spicy. Not to mention the price increase we just dropped $85 for 2 people. So disappointed and def will not be back read more

Amazing food, funky decor, good service!!! Whenever I crave for Mexican food this is my go to place in DTC. The ambience is pretty appealing. As soon as you walk in you are seated by a server. The servers here are pretty friendly and they checked on us quite often. We ordered classic margarita and seasonal margarita and both were delicious. For food, we ordered chimichanga fried burrito, jalapeño popper tacos, tofu tacos and bean tacos. everything was delicious and made to perfection. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit here and highly recommend checking it out. read more

Disappointing Nachos This place has a really nice atmosphere, drinks were good, salsa was really great (especially the chipotle pineapple). I was sad about my steak nachos though. They tasted just fine but the cheese was a water-thin, disappointing cheese sauce...thing, and there was very little of it. Same for the steak, very little of it and lots of gristle. I was in the mood for indulgent melted cheese and steak, it was mostly just chips, guacamole and pickled onions. It kinda tasted like a Panera salad. read more

The layout and atmosphere of this location is fantastic. And the food is no where near run-of-the-mill Mexican. I was actually in for lunch, but our server brought up their Happy Hour, and apparently from the other reviews, this is the main happening time. Lunch however was great. Really nice portions of beautiful plated and fresh tasting food. Our server was pretty friendly and chatty with lots of good suggestions. We went with the Burrito Bowl & Chicken Enchiladas. I'm saving trying out the tacos for a Happy Hour visit some time! One random complaint...so minor...but I HATE their plastic-ware drink cups. The drink cups for water and tea are these little elementary school plastic glasses...ugh. Doesn't help with keeping your drink cool at all, & when you are enjoying chips & salsa, that spice and salt gets ya, it sucks to have to keep your server so busy with refills (or worse having to look for them...). All good things must come to an end! Just changed their happy hour menu to be less favorable to the average joe. Before, nearly every taco was $2 for HH and you could rip a shot and beer for $6. Tis no more. Tiered taco's for $2 or $3, depending on meat. Not complaining, still a good deal, but not quite as good. Honestly, it was too good to be true. Chicken tacos are $$. Heaping at the DTC location, have heard less favorable portion sizes at RiNo. Chips and salsa are bottomless and fuego. Fried Brussels are good as well. Atmosphere is awesome, and it's always got a good crowd. Friday happy hour post-work is the best around. read more

Came here because the atmosphere sounded fun and the tacos looked even better. We (group of 3) were seated after about 15 minutes of waiting. Off the bat, our waitress was not interested in any connection. We sat, ordered, and waited over an hour for 7 tacos. Not once did our waitress check on us during our wait. Our food came and the tacos were average at best. Some came cold and they were tiny ($5.50/ea.) During our meal our waitress lazily checked on us one time. Overall: bad service, overpriced for what you get, average flavor, fun atmosphere. read more

I really liked this place for street tacos. They have an awesome selection and overall the flavor was very good. The staff was super nice and helpful and my experience here was great. We also tried a queso that had brussel sprouts in it and it was amazing. I would have never thought to make that combo but was pleasantly surprised. My wife had the Enchiladas which in my opinion weren't that great. If you come here stick with the street tacos! read more

This could have been 3 Stars, borderline. The service, outstanding nachos, and some good tacos made up for a disappointing and underwhelming tamale. Did I mention the PIG nachos? They were really great. Pork belly, rattle snake chorizo, large volumes of cheese, source cream, and guac. They stood out for sure. I had originally visited this place because of a picture of their pork shoulder tamale on some best places in Denver site. The picture was incredible, a tamale that stretched across the plate, smother with sauce and cheese, and provided courtesy of Los Chingones. My expectations were high. They didn't have the pork shoulder, but had their chicken tamale instead. The flavors were great, but it was one really small tamale for over $13. This was a failure to meet or exceed your photographers angles I expect. The drinks were great, and again the service was friendly. I may come back for happy hour, but my search for that tamale will have to continue somewhere else. read more

I got the pig nachos today (take out). They were fantastic. The chef kept the queso, black beans and pulled pork separate from the chips so that the chips wouldn't get soggy. Great idea. Just one note -- if you don't like cilantro, have them leave it off. There was a lot of cilantro sprinkled on top. I would definitely order them again! read more

Love this place! And apparently so does everyone else. It's usually very busy during happy hour and the weekends. It's a fun place with a great menu and atmosphere. This is a cool part of town and there's some other really good restaurants on the same street as well. During the summer the patio is a ton of fun as well! read more

Love this place! Great tacos, and service by LJ. She went above and beyond to make sure we were enjoying our time at the restaurant.

The food was tasty, yes, but I felt that $5 for a garden taco was way overpriced. The tacos aren't huge and you are still hungry after eating 2 of them. Um, after having spent $10 on two tacos wouldn't one expect a full tummy? It's just the chips that actually filled me up. Well, we had a reservation and we were quickly seated. Didn't have to wait long for the order to be taken either. The food came out pretty fast so the service was neat! They serve complimentary chips with house salsa. We then ordered a flight of 3 salsas with avocado, chipotle pineapple and tomatillo. All the 3 were very tasty, i just loved the tomatillo salsa. We then went on to order fried tofu tacos and their seasonal garden taco which on that day had black beans, pumpkin seeds, crema and cherry tomatoes. We also ordered the cheese quesadilla. The quesadilla was served with pasilla lime salsa which was again wonderful. It does look like all their salsas are very flavorful. The cheese in the quesadilla tasted great! The tacos were good, though not 'I can't wait to be back' good. They serve complimentary cookies for dessert. They were delicious! read more

The flavor profiles are lacking. The Pastor isn't marinaded and they used limp canned pineapple. No char, no sauce. The pork is chunky and bland. The asada has zero flavor and os one note. The grilled fish was the only decent taco because it came with pickled onion. No taco hot sauce- only tabasco like chipotle... and they charge for chips and salsa. The margs are good but WAY overpriced. $10-15 for a 4 oz marg in a glorified rocks glass. They no longer have burritos on the menu or the monthly frozen margarita. They upcharge for add-ins on the margs. Troy has moved on and no longer puts any thought into this restaurant. He's cutting corners and trying to save a buck. There's better. This place is whitewashed. read more

It's the best Mexican food in the Tech Center & compares well to some of the places on the North Side. We had enchiladas & burritos, passed on the tacos but I remember them as being excellent. Very cool vibe... Very, very loud. At one point, around 8 PM when the restaurant was almost completely empty, the music was turned up to an almost deafening level making conversation almost impossible. Perhaps they think after several drinks one might not notice the inability to converse with their table mates but that was not the case. Aside from the decibel level the food was extraordinary!As well as the service! I ordered a drink that after tasting I did not care for and she very sweetly came over and asked if I would like to try something else. I thought that was great customer service... Often times service did not even notice if you have eaten the food or had a drink. The shrimp taco was a generous size and very tasty. The brussels sprouts were Amazing and I would order them again. Overall this was a great evening... A nice opportunity to catch up with old friends but if you're looking for a quiet venue where you can hear what your table mates are saying this might not be it. Again, I am not sure why the increase in volume after 8 PM when there were hardly any patrons. Hence the four stars. read more
