As someone who is permanently craving Mexican food, I'm glad to have such a delicious restaurant located so close. The place itself is very lively, especially during dinner. The hostess is nice, the servers are nice, and the rest of the patrons are all just having fun and enjoying their meals. I love the way the restaurant is decorated and the way they present their food and drinks. The chips and salsa had a zingy kick that kept my hand reaching in the basket for more and the beergarita was perfectly balanced. Fair and only warning though, the food is definitely spicy so make sure to order an extra side of of sour cream or order a level down from your usual on the spice scale. This place is great! The only negative thing that I can say is that I'm sad we didn't find it sooner! Julio was our server and he was very attentive and helpful. We tried one each of the chicken, steak, grilled fish, and pork tacos, along with a chicken & veggie quesadilla and none of them disappointed. I recently moved to the DTC area and had heard great things about Los Chingones from coworkers. Now that they're open for lunch on Thursday and Friday's, I decided to stop by for a midday meal. I was super impressed. Everything from the service to the food was great. We started with a trio of salsas (though if you order something from the lunch specials menu for $11, an order of chips and the house Rooster salsa are included) and loved each one of them. Our waitress asked which we liked best after we had polished them all off and then brought out another bowl of it! The chips were amazing as well, and tasted as though they had just been cooked. I ordered the crispy brussels ($7) as a side to my entree, which was the kale salad with chicken. My friend got the empanadas which were surprisingly spicy but also delicious. If you're craving some non-traditional tacos, guacamole, fresh chips, and... of course, delicious margaritas, Los Chingones is the place to come! Those margaritas are awesome and they have enough choices and variations to satisfy those with a sweet tooth and those that prefer something more tart. But let's talk about tacos!!! Here's what we ordered: - Octopus: My absolute favorite favorite favorite of them here. The octopus is so so so tender and they give you a good amount for just $4!!!! Too good to be true! - Beef cheek: If you're looking for a upscale version of barbacoa, this one will fit the bill. That beef is unbelievably tender and the marinade is on point, savory and just a tad sweet. - Shrimp: Another well prepared taco. The shrimp is cooked perfectly, not over cooked at all. The shrimp is plump and the amount is generous. - Fish: If you want a bit more traditional, the fish tacos are light and tasty. - Lamb neck: Tender and not overly gamey. But if I had to choose, I'd pick the beef cheek over this one. But don't get me wrong, you can order both because that's what I did! - Steak: This one was the only taco disappointment for the night. The steak was dry and overcooked. It was thinly sliced, so when cooked, it easily turned into hard chewy pieces. - House Guac: Cannot ever go wrong with some regular plain guac. The chips are also thin and fresh. - Salsas: Try the flight! You might as well! We tried 6/7 of the salsas. We didn't try the arbol, because the waitress said it was not worth it and not good. There were others that we did not like, including the avocado (weird tomatoey taste and not creamy avocado) and another one that was not memorable. My favorites were: Chile pasilla lime (I topped almost all my tacos with it), the pineapple salsa (great balance), and that habenero (really hot and lingers, above careful!) - Garden Guac: I would not order again. Something about the warm zucchini just did not fit well into the cold guac. There was too much going on. I'd stick to the plain house version. - Skinny margarita, Silky pajamas, The Riot: all really good margaritas. Can't go wrong with any of them. Overall, the ambience is great. Lots of seating, never had a wait. The staff is wonderful, friendly, attentive. The environment is chill, relaxed, and fun. Just come here and enjoy some really good food!! read more

Came here for lunch during a recent work trip. I only had an hour before my next meeting so I didn't have much time or options. This was a great place though! I sat at the bar and the bartender was super friendly along with all the other staff. They were huge jokesters which was nice entertainment during my lunch break. I started off with three of the spiciest salsas they serve. I'm from Houston and I have very high expectations when it comes to salsa. This was definitely high up on my salsa list. It had the perfect amount of tangyness and spice. At one point I was tearing up because one of the salsas was just that spicy. I also ordered 2 chicken tacos and 1 shrimp taco. The shrimp was okay. I don't think I would recommend it. The chicken was delicious though. I'm glad I ordered two. The addition of the taki crumbs was amazing! read more

We were hoping to have our elopement celebration dinner here at 3 pm on a Saturday in October. 22 adults, and they couldn't accommodate us at all after speaking to a Manager. We were told we had to meet a $1,500 minimum and could only split it 3 ways even though everyone will be paying for their own appetizers, meal items, and alcoholic beverages and even before their "dinner rush". We will be going somewhere else that can accommodate us, and I feel super bummed that this restaurant that I loved so much while I lived in Denver wasn't able to do anything for us. I had my birthday here 2 years ago with 17 people and it wasn't a problem. How sad. Update: Since writing this review, I had a response via email from Byron on July 22nd about my first Inquiry. He said I'd need to do a buyout of the whole dining room, and I'd need to meet a $3,000 minimum. Twice what I was initially told. Following that, I got a message from Katie on Yelp the 24th of July and AFTER I wrote my review. She said they would waive the minimum and do the reservation. I'm so confused, and I've made other plans based off the initial quote and info I received including the email. This is a joke, and this could have been handled more fluidly. They weren't bad but they were pretty bland, there wasn't one taco we had that would make me want to come back...$4-5 for a taco at this place was not worth it. Machete's tacos are way better. They charge you $2.50 each time they refill your salsa too?! I had a skinny margarita and it was pretty sad, again not worth the $10. Our service was also not great. Our server and food runner didn't communicate well and kept getting confused about our food so they would just walk away. All in all. I am just all about the downtown Los Chingones and I finally got to try the Tech Center location on- what better day- Cinco de Mayo! It was a perfect 75 degree day and we somehow lucked out with no wait for a table outside in the shade. God was smiling down on this half Mexican senorita. Pig Ear Nachos: yes yes yes!! I get these every time I go to the downtown location. SO bomb. SUCH a huge portion. We both said we could've just split the nachos and a marg and called it a day. But did we do that? Of course our gluttonous selves did NOT! One unique taco and one typical taco was my mission so I got one octopus and one steak. They were both awesome. I love how creative they are with the food here! I have literally never had a taco I didn't like. Los Chingones does it right. But $9 for a margarita on "special!" I am a big fan of this place it has a fun ambiance and it always a solid option. My party came on a Saturday night and got right in which was great and we got a free appetizer for checking in on Yelp. The burritos are huge and the burrito bowl was really flavorful and yummy. The salsa and sauces were delicious but the guac was pretty underwhelming and lacked flavor unfortunately. Also just a note the ambiance is super loud! It's not necessarily an issue but it can be hard in large parties or with older people. Overall, I do like this spot and our service was great too! read more

I'm bummed, l loved going to Los Chingones, tonight it let us down. The Food wasn't up to its standards. The chief that made it didn't put enough seasoning for the tacos my husband ordered. Then the food was room temperature, the tortillas weren't even warmed up. l ordered a bowl, it had no flavor. The rice wasn't cooked enough, green chili wasn't warm. The chicken tasted odd... The server we had she didn't even ask how our food was and if we need anything? It wasreally odd, she walk by our table but never stop by and check in with us. Game 6. NBA Finals. Went to Chingones with my buddies and let me tell you, hands down the best service I've ever received. As soon as I walked in a had a religious experience, staring into my hosts bright blue Scandinavian eyes I felt deep inner feelings I had never experienced before. I ate here (DTC location) for the first time last week. I met a coworker for lunch and I thought everything was really good. The weather was beautiful so we sat out on the patio. We ordered gauc and chips to share and I really enjoyed it. I ordered the cheese enchiladas, one with green sauce and one with red. They were delicious! Service was great! The inside of the restaurant has a cool vibe to it. We didn't have any cocktails but will definitely be back to try them out. My only small complaint is the parking situation. When it's busy it can be hard to find a spot. If you can't find a spot on the street there is a free parking garage around the corner. read more

Their chips are so warm, fresh, and well salted. I tried the steak, chicken, octopus, and shrimp tacos. All of which were fantastic. My bf had the ceviche and the tuna off the raw menu. Both of which were disappointing. The ceviche is not a traditional ceviche, so be warned. We had fantastic service and loved the upbeat vibe of this place. Oh and the cookies!! Visiting from Texas, I learned about this place by accident when reading an article about the new concept (Hashtag) by the same group. I was drawn to the unique options. The rattlesnake chorizo topped guac and octopus tacos are must-trys. Our waiter was nice but kind of flighty and inattentive, plus they were out of their famous cookies. I had a shrimp cocktail and the shrimps were very fresh and yummy. Not the biggest fan of the sauce, it was too celery-y for me. I also got a salsa flight that was amazing! We love coming to Los when we're craving tacos. I loved sitting on the patio and the service was fantastic. I switched it up and ordered chicken enchiladas which were so freaking good. Our server (LJ) was super knowledgeable about the menu and very friendly. Craving some tacos and a trendy place to meet up with a girlfriend who just moved back to the Mile High from sunny Florida I suggested Los Chingones and she was game! Atmosphere/Space: This location has a similar feel to the downtown location. Each has a really unique modern-Mexican flair to the decor. I really love the brightly colored woven booth benches and the mural on the brick wall! The open kitchen counter seating features some great patterned ceramic tiles below the counter and industrial style chairs. There's a variety of seating style ranging from intimate booths to community style for larger groups. You can tell that they get busy, but luckily it's also located in a newer part of the DTC (Denver Tech Center) so I don't think many people have discovered them. There's ample parking in the surrounding area which id a huge bonus over the RiNo location where parking can be pretty rough. Service: Kendall our server was fabulous! Like always we spent too much time catching up and chatting before we looked at the menu and Kendall was so kind to check back with us for our order. She came by to check on us several different times and offered helpful suggestions about the menu items. She had such a great personality! I def hope to come back and be seated in here area again! Food and Libations: My friends opted for a couple different Dos Equis styles to sip on during our meal; while I chose the Sangria Rojo. That is just my favorite here. It's strong without being too much and has such a wonderful mix of flavors! I opted for the Pork Belly and Shrimp Tacos, while my friends chose the Beef Cheek Empanadas and various other tacos. I just love the Shrimp Taco! The pickled onion adds such a great flavor to the shrimp. The Pork Belly was a solid choice too! We also opted for the Tijuana Shrimp Cocktail after our meal. At $2.50 we were curious how many shrimp it would include. So we ordered two just in case. Good thing we did; it was one shrimp with each. However, they were huge!! These were like the Hulk of the shrimp world. Plus the seasoning/flavor was amazing!! I would def order those again without hesitation. When we received our check Kendall also brought us some chocolate cinnamon salted cookies. Wow! Everything was just on point! Los Chigones is def an awesome choice for some creative taco concoctions and libations! This place has the best margaritas and the best tacos. Don't let them talk you into the more expensive margs--the house marg is by FAR the best. Honestly they might be the best margs I've ever had. As for tacos, our all-time favorites are the fried fish and the birria. The fried fish is super crunchy and delicious and they actually give you a big portion of fish. So good. The meat in the birria is so juicy it falls apart, and the sauce to dip it in is amazing. Also can't forget their amazing chips and salsa! I like the chipotle pineapple the best, but the house salsa is also great. The f***ing hot one is as advertised, but it's so good that it's actually worth the pain. We came in during Denver restaurant week and ordered a selection of tacos (Popper, Pork Belly, Lamb Neck) and chicken enchiladas (3 to a plate). The meals came with salsa, queso, or guacamole and we chose the Chingon queso and Chingon guac. The deal for restaurant week was one starter, one meal (tacos, enchilada, burrito, or bowl), and drinks for $25. We also received chips (they are quite good) and salsa. The chorizo in the Chingon guac and queso was fantastic! The enchilada sauce is clearly chipotle and was smoky good. The rice also seems to have a hint of chipotle, as did the bean purée. The tacos were all very good and I would recommend any of the three. The adobo chicken in the enchiladas is not just run of the mill shredded chicken but chunks of really tender adobo. Coupled with the chipotle enchilada sauce it was great. I would certainly recommend the food at Los Chingones. read more

Lucky us...we went on a Monday night, which just so happens to be Margarita Monday! $5 each for house ritas and they were quite delicious and powerful! I really like the way they only salt half the glass! I can decide which side to drink from and the waitstaff doesn't have to remember to ask whether I want salt! We started with the salsa flight, a sampling of your choice of 6 salsas. The house salsa was the traditional chopped tomato salsa, but the other 5 (we skipped the habanero one) were pretty unique. I didn't really love any of them but that might be a regional thing. I ordered 3 tacos. They're the small fare street tacos but I loved them all: 1 shrimp, 1 steak, & 1 pork belly. I think my fave was the steak, 2nd was the pork belly, 3rd was shrimp, but all 3 were delicioso! We ended the meal with churros. They were well covered in cinnamon and sugar and came with a dipping sauce (chocolate? Nutella? Not sure) but it was unecessart because they were crisp and tasty without it. The music is still kind of loud, but I'm willing to admit I'm probably just an old person now that I'm in my thirties. Other than that, the food is typically pretty good here, and now that I live across the street, it's a frequent haunt of ours when we don't feel like cooking. The chicken tacos seem to be the best of the bunch. The nachos are also good. The empanadas are a new addition to the menu and are tasty, too. Had the Brussels sprouts again and they weren't burned, and were pretty delicious (especially for the $3 happy hour price). The cookies at the end of the meal have grown on me (I'm not usually a sweets person) and I look forward to them at the end of the meal. Service is consistently pretty great. The last couple of times my margaritas have had plenty of alcohol in them, so I think the initial visit may have been a fluke. Either way, we're fans of this place and given the fact that it's a stone's throw from our home, we'll likely be regulars for a while. read more
