The asada is flavored just right and they put hellaaaa whole shrimps in your burrito. I found at least 6-8 inside. My BF likes the steak and tripas. They make the tripas extra crispy so you get a good crunch in every bite. Their beans are whole pinto, not refried, and they do give you some pickled jalapenos and carrots on the side. We had 6 tiny salsa cups for our two burritos but their burritos are so big, I think a solid ratio would be at least 4 to one burrito. For the two burritos plus a horchata, it came to $34 so really not that bad. Cheesesteak Fries: this is a carba-lious meal with crispy fried French fries, with melted cheese and steak, and jalapeños. And they are happy to add any extras to jazz the fries up, whether it's shrimp, avocado, salsa, sour cream or anything else that floats your boat. One guy even has rice dumped on top of the cheesesteak fries. Pescado burrito and steak burrito: these are decent sized burritos with a nice cross section of ingredients. Sometimes taco trucks can go a little heavy on the beans which distorts the flavor but here they get it right. The guys working this truck are great. It's located in the parking lot of a market so I had no problem to park, the area is well lighted and not too sketchy (for Oakland). The guy that took my order was very nice, no nonsense. For my 3 tacos and horchata I payed 12ish which is fair. He told me my order was gonna take about 10mins but was ready in 5. I liked that they call the orders thru a speaker. The tacos had a good amount of meat and good flavor, specially the tongue. The drink was not too sweet which I prefer. My only complaint is that I had ordered 2 tripe tacos and they gave me tongue. Interestingly, I tried it with a side of ketchup ( a recommendation of another customer ) and the sweetness added a whole new level of flavor to the steak fries. The tacos were delicious and had a nice serving of hot sauce, just enough to get my mouth tingling but not so much that everything else was overpowering. I preferred the spicy pork taco over the chicken since the chicken was a bit on the dry side. The burrito was also generously filled with rice, beans, and meat. There were super delicious bites in there that were very enjoyable. Overall, this place never fails to impress when it comes to food. Service ( 10/10 ) - The people working here are always so nice and so friendly. They never hesitate to strike up a conversation and interact with their customers. Definitely a sign of good customer service when you feel less like someone who's just there for the food. The people here are always in a talking mood and definitely appreciated. Pricing ( 9/10 ) - Nowadays, it's hard to get meals for two at a price under $35. For today, to be completely stuffed of food, the price was only $28. So this little low key taco truck is on the corner of 23rd & E16th. It's in the parking lot of a carniceria. Customer service was great!! The guy was nice, re-read me my order (which I loved) cause you can say something and they write something else, which is annoying, that's how people fuck your food up. So that was a plus. Food: Horchata was way too sweet! No ice added? Coke wasn't cold, they need to turn their fridge temperature up. The tacos (asada) I got were blah. I came around 3 pm on a Wednesday afternoon and there was no line. I was able to order right away and had 10 tacos and one steak fries. The steak fries here have really big portions! This place uses mozzarella cheese so the cheese sticks to the fries without it being soggy. If you can't finish in one sitting, you can always save it for later and bake it in the oven. The meat is a decent amount and I like how they add onions, cilantro, and sour cream. I wish they added guacamole, it will make it the best steak fries.
