Grew up coming here for 20+ years. Used to be a hidden gem- until this past year. Food quality has gone down, staff is very rude, they nearly doubled the prices for sub par Mexican food and started to advertise themselves as a "seafood grill" restaurant- which they are not. The best part of coming here was the bean dip- they changed the recipe (which they deny), but now it's terrible. Don't recommend and won't be coming back. read more

For a local neighborhood casual Mexican restaurant, this is very good. Cheerful atmosphere. The Tostada Tres Marias with Pescado is excellent. Fresh and flavorful. Nice to have a bean dip served alongside complimentary chips and salsa. Chips are very fresh and light. read more

Service has just gone down after Covid. I've been in several times and tip more than most and still the service is shitty. Great food but some of the waiters have a chip on their shoulder. It's unfortunate. I know if I'm feeling this way others must as well. There are just too many good Mexican Restaurants for one to be providing such shitty service. Get it together!!! read more

This update is getting this cantina out of the average category, and well deserved. It's been 6 years since my review of Los Dos Amigos (it was one of my firsts, and it was minimal at that). Since, I've been a total of 4 times, and with each, they've more and more impressed me. What I like most? It's more authentic than those quasi-Mexican/American other places. I've had mixed fajitas [$14.95, 3.5 stars], a large chile verde burrito [$7.95, 4.5 stars], a combo with chicken & beef crispy tacos [$7.50, 4.0 stars], and a cheese enchilada plate [$8.50, 4.0 stars]. The place isn't fancy but it's clean and brightly decorated. The chips were crispy with the right amount of salt. The salsa was fresh and a bit spicy but not too much heat if you like hot. The chicken avocado rolls were a good little appetizer. We went with those instead of guacamole, which is usually always on my bill. I'm still curious about their guacamole and will try it on a future visit. The chicken enchiladas suizas were delicious. I order them whenever I see them on the menu and aside from El Maguey in Claremore, OK these were the best I've eaten in SoCal. read more

Huge disappointment! Ordered the grilled fish as presented on the menu and received pan fried. I asked why the fish was not grilled as presented and the head waiter said they don't grill fish. When I explained that that is what they have on the menu, his reaction was "oh well" There was no offer for a make good to take off the bill.... Maybe it's the nostalgia of this place, but I honestly think this place has some mega-amazing food! This was my go-to spot when I was in college and when I say go-to, I mean like at least once a week. I was obsessed. That bean dip! And the salsa! And mixing the two?! Soooo gooooood!! So, when I was back in town after 10 years, I had to look this spot up and was thrilled that it was still around! I got my usual combo - 1 beef taco and 1 cheese enchilada. It was JUST like I remembered it! The rice and beans were still on point, and of course the chips, salsa and bean dip were just as I remembered them. I've always​ had good service here and my most recent night was no exception. I was looking to have a specific type of tequila and they were nice enough to bring one out for me that wasn't even on the menu! I am SO glad this place is still around and I'm stoked it's still as tasty​ as ever! Now that's consistency​! Came here today when in search of margies and yummy food post Underwood Fall festival. What a score! Carlos was freaking awesome! He was the only server there and even made our drinks while the bartenders were on break and dammit they were great!! Every ounce of food was an epic level of delicious, I don't live anywhere near here but will make a point to come back here again. There is an excessive amount of Mexican food in Los Angeles but there aren't many that blow my mind but this place did. The steak encebollado, the wet burrito with ranchero sauce, the chips and salsa and beans, my kids cheeseburger and fries, the chili relleno, the chimi, I tasted it all and it was WTF outstanding. Carlos warned us upon arrival he was the only one there at the time but he still killed it. Yay for leftovers tmrw! Teach me ur ways this food was so good! Ignore the haters & eat. This. Food. I ate last week here, the food was good. But when we got the check it $42. All we had were 4 soft tacos carne asada and French fries. No drinks, we just had water, and no sides of beans and rice. Just the tacos. I think it was kind of pricey, since their website says it's $1.75 per Taco. I feel that if the menu has changed, then why don't they update their menu. It's misleading to have a different price on their website and a different price at the restaurant. read more

I get the fajita burrito. It's great every-time. The bean dip is a must get. It's soooo good. They have a little outdoor walk up pick up window if you're picking food up. It's really convenient to not have to go into a place to get the food. The parking lot is easy to miss and a little small, but I've always managed to find parking. read more

Free chips and spicy salsa, big, strong margaritas, and huge portions! Outdoor seating is heated too. Normally we get their classic torta as it never fails to be the best in the conejo valley. Pick your meat and don't be disappointed. However today we mixed it up with a burrito de lengua aka tongue. I was hesitant and doubted my choice but omfg it was amazingly good. Not orgasmic like but it was a really good burrito. Better than chipotle and Rio's . I've been coming to this restaurant for 3 years and although the food is good, the service has been inconsistent. For example, the servers will forget to refill the chips and salsa, will record the wrong orders frequently (and I speak Spanish). One of the servers in particular acts as if she is being bothered when I asked for extra napkins, a refill on drinks, etc. The last straw for me with this restaurant was tonight. I placed an order for my family and was told that the order would take half an hour to fulfill. I waited an hour at the restaurant for my order and when I asked about the status, I was told that it wasn't ready. The person doling out the orders said I should cancel it because it wasn't ready and they were too busy! I understand that COVID-19 has changed how restaurants are able to fulfill their orders, but there are many folks that are trying to keep them in business by ordering from them. Another hidden gem! This little storefront Mexican restaurant that sits in a strip mall facing T.O. Blvd. caught our eye as we were driving by, looking to grab a quick bite and a drink! So glad we saw it! Did a quick U-turn and made our way in! Parking is limited (but we found a spot in front) and there's additional parking in back. Los Dos Amigos was packed! Super friendly staff! From the moment we walked in and were greeted til the end of our meal! Excellent service and food! They serve chips and salsa and bean dip with a kick! Yummm! Drink selection is really good. I had a beer. My husband had a margarita and we split a combo beef taco/chicken enchilada and loved it! The shredded beef in the taco had great flavor as did the shredded chicken in the enchilada.
