Bottom line...awesome Mexican food! We stopped in here for lunch on a trip to the Denver area last week and it did not disappoint. Food was fantastic and the chips and salsa great too (a key in my book). Loved this place so much that we took my brother and his wife there on our last night in town and everyone loved it. The kitchen has no idea what it is doing, I requested no onions in a dish and got only onions, I sent it back, but it didn't matter because everything in our party's order could only be described as slop. we havent been for awhile and always a good experience. We decided to go back today and had horrible service. sat down for 15 minutes. Restaurant was not busy. 10 servers walked by and completely ignored us until we had to ask for chips for the salsa that was already at the table. Margaritas were way too sweet. Order was delivered to us wrong by server. Had to send back. Ordered fajitas to go and received chicken versus steak and no tortillas included. We thought the green chili was very bland compared to normal. For the price they charge for meals there are definitely better options out there. So sad to see this place go down hill as it used to be a weekly spot for us. We definitely will not be going back. We always rave to everybody that this is the best Los Dos in town but we were extremely underwhelmed and disappointed about our whole experience today. This place is delicious!! My friend and I came here after taking a barre class to reward ourselves. I know, I know, it's so bad to reward your workout with food, but this was delicious food! The hour wait on Friday was WORTH IT. The queso dip was hot and deliciously spicy with chunks of chiles in it. My entree was steak street tacos and those came out tender and juicy. All I have to say is I spend incredibly way to much money in here (because I like the margs and food) to get such awful service. By far the worst service I have ever had somewhere. And it's not just hit or miss it's constantly. I come here probably once or twice a week and still the same story. This place is one of many authentic Mexican restaurant in the suburbs I can find. We came in on a Saturday afternoon. And it was packed, but not busy enough for a wait. Surprisingly this place has a lot of tables inside. They have a bar area, and when that door opens and it does get cold. As for the service, it wasn't the best. I was asked if I wnated more water when we haven't even recieved the chips and salsa yet. The salsa was very bland. It took her a minute to get to us. She seemed to not know the menu when ordering. And another confusion on the menu, under the burrito part each item had a "2" next to it- under the impression it came in twos. The chicken burrito came out with two but not the carne asada- very odd, and the one steak burrito cost more than the chicken. The green chili and burritos were very good,but can always be spicer tho. And I wish they had more lettuce on the side. But I was happy they were not stingy on the smothered part. Los Dos used to be our go-to for eating out. I've always enjoyed their skinny margs and food, particularly the queso and camarones los dos potrillos. Recently tho, they raised their prices roughly 40% on the things we enjoy. Our last bill for a family of 4 with 2 margaritas, queso and 4 entrees was over $125, not including tip. I'm struggling to see the value any longer, particularly when Mexican food is supposed to be quick and cheap. As much as I enjoy Los Dos, I can't see myself going there that often anymore. The food wasn't bad. The service was great. The bartender whipped up my beer lightning fast. While we had about a 20 min wait the restaurant. After being seated we enjoyed chips..the salsa however was hot! With spices. The server said it was the mild blend. However my family couldn't stop sweating. The server brought out a blend he said didn't have jalapenos. But it was super spicy. I like medium spicy but this was on par with a habanero sauce heat level. I am conflicted. I love this restaurant for its service, it's margaritas, and it's location. However, the beans are under seasoned... and I consider that an important part of a Mexican meal. Additionally, the Molcajete is never properly melted. It arrives with cold cheese on top. Tsk tsk. Aside from this, the food is actually fresh. My ceviche was the best I have ever had. They don't take cooked shrimp and add lime juice (which renders the shrimp dry and tasteless). They use FRESH shrimp. The outcome is none other than absolutely tasty.
