We used Los Dos for our wedding catering for around 140 people. They could not have been better - They invited us to the restaurant for multiple tastings, kept us involved in the process leading up to the wedding, and catered the whole thing with ease. There were no hiccups and everything went so smoothly - On top of that, our guests came up to us raving about the food. Some said it was the best Mexican food they've ever had! We already go to Los Dos often, but we will continue to do so because we love the food and the people so much. We have eaten there twice now. both times good,,,,but. Both times I had soft rellenos. First time good, second time they were worm but not very. I believe they had been microwaved as the cheese was like plastic, sticky, gooey, hard and unpleasant. I want them to succeed but the prices are getting out of line. We just had lunch at the Highlands Ranch location today and what a horrible experience!!! My husband ordered tacos Al Carbone and only two of the tacos had meat in them. We told the waiter and he sent over the manager Jose who was anything but professional. He pretty much told us it was our fault for not dividing out the meat properly. The plate comes with three tacos so apparently it's not the kitchens job to give the customers three tacos? It was my first time there so I had so many questions and he answered all my questions, he even brought my husband and I a sample of the sauce used for the plates I was inquiring about. Sadly, my experience at this location did not live up to the hype. I arrived at 4pm on Cinco de Mayo - admittedly a risk - but the staff and food both a crushing disappointment. Waited in line 20 minutes for a "top shelf" margarita that I discarded (unfinished) after getting seated an hour later. Yes, despite the holiday, the manager didn't see fit to add staff, and hoards of people waited on the patio until the dinner shift arrived. I switched my order to much better Mexican Mule, leaving some hope for better food. Carne Asada is a staple on any Mexican menu, and yet this one arrived devoid of any flavor, overcooked, and buried under mounds of guacamole and grilled onions. Shoe leather would have been a better description. The missing the tortillas arrived several minutes later. Our server disappeared and when he finally came to our table he explained we would have to wait for coffee and dessert ( no offer - we had to ask), without bothering to clear our dinner plates. With multiple locations opening in the front range, the family owned intimacy and reputation for great food seems to have been replaced (at this location) with an institutionalized cafeteria experience. read more
