My family called to place an order, I looked over the menu, and the only veggie option is a burrito. I asked the person that answered the phone (sounded like a young man) what is on the veggie burrito, he went over everything, and I asked if there are any animal products in the ingredients. He said he didn't know. I explained that I am vegan, and don't eat animal products. He responded, "yeah, I get it, but I don't know." Los Favoritos is the best authentic Mexican fast food around Arizona. The breakfast burritos are amazing. They also have a bomb tasting carne asada burrito. The flavors are amazing in all thee food. The customer service is hit or miss at this location. Sometimes you get really friendly service and other times not so friendly. The restaurant received an A from the health department. The only problem is that you can hardly ever come in to find a clean table. That's why I utilize this place for take out. It is also common to see the cooks texting on their phones while your waiting on your order. Cell phones should never be utilized by cook staff while they are making your food. In fact a cell phone should never be in the kitchen area. The restaurant has had continuous problems with their Airconditioning so they run a huge fan in the lobby area. The bathroom is not clean and worn down with remodeling needs. Overall great tasting authentic food and great hot sauce. read more

Always loved this place, but for some reason on two separate occasions they have made something in an order wrong. Simple stuff too. Like a carne asada burrito w/sour cream and cheese and it's ONLY carne?? Wth? Then another time gave me something completely different than what we ordered. I would have went back, but I don't necessarily live next door, plus the wait was so long each time who would want to wait again? On 5-15-2021 went to Los Favoritos in Apache Junction to have some Mexican food. I ordered the hard taco combination plate with beef tacos, beans and rice. The two tacos were way over cooked and easily noticeable that they were over cooked with black and dark brown shells and burned beef. This is the second time I have had poorly prepared food from them. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

For my first burrito in the greater Phoenix area (and there were several), Los Favoritos was a very decent choice. No frills. Simple. Easy. Pretty good. A credible local spot. From what I gather, Los Favoritos is kind of a local chain, but it didn't have that "chain-ey" feel. Burrito 1 was of the breakfast variety, with chorizo. It was average size, tidy and packed flavor. Not too expensive either, maybe six bucks or so. The side of guacamole was kind of lacking. Small, pre-made, and kind of forgettable. But the horchata was tasty. More cinnamon than I'm used to, which was totally fine. I wouldn't go out of my way to make a return trip, but if I ever ran across Los Favoritos again... well that'd be just fine. read more

"You can't judge a book by it's cover" comes to mind when I think of this place...It's a little shack on the Trail in AJ that is very simple, but clean. I ordered the 2 taco combo plate today. I absolutely love their tacos! Their beans are to die for! Very authentic and delicious. Their rice is good too. The service is fast and friendly. Stopped in for a bacon burrito for breakfast this morning. I am so, SO glad I did. Was greeted with a warm smile on a cold, 34 degree morning. The burrito was absolutely delicious, full of bacon....lots of bacon, eggs, potatoes, cheese...bacon, did I mention all the bacon? Made fresh, not a long wait at all. This place is awesome, the food is top notch and not that fake Mexican food that you see over at Taco Bell. The service is always great and very nice people to deal with at the restaurant. You can eat in or take out, they have a couple of outside tables to eat at or a half dozen of tables inside but no table service. Give this place a try, it's local and it's real Mexican food, I guarantee you won't be disappointed. I love hole in the wall places - this one is definitely it! I am very tempted to give it 2 stars - but because the food was very hot, fresh, and good, I had to go with the 3 stars. We met after my grandson's baseball game for a quick lunch on a Saturday. This place is nothing to look at from the outside, looks like a Taco Hut right off the beaten path of Apache Junction. There are about 5 tables total and a little bit of standing room at the counter. The best part was that they spoke English! We ordered our food and pulled some tables together since there was 7 of us. Here is where my problem started, BIG SIGN says "NOW WE HAVE AC!" Thank goodness I thought since it was 90 degrees outside! NO AC working today - Yes there was a wall unit AC at both ends, but I think only one of them was working partly. Just sitting there eating I was in a sweat! I can't do that, no matter how good the food is. My advice - come and take your food home! Or better yet eat outside if it's cool enough. read more

This is probably my favorite burrito spot.. Place has been here forever and hasn't changed much, and that's not a bad thing. They just recently paved the parking lot and that was a welcome improvement. The place is older but clean, the service is typically friendly and fast. Machaca burrito with some Horchata is my fav. It's also nice to go somewhere that doesn't end in "..burto's"... Though those are good too. Long story short, don't let the exterior of this place fool you, it's worth the stop. read more

I have upgraded Los Fave's to 5 stars! I'm SO GLAD I gave them another try! I now go every Saturday morning for a bean and egg burrito and often during the week for a green chile burrito for dinner. Their red salsa is INCREDIBLE! Update on the hamburger reference in my earlier review...I'm told they are nasty:(. But I don't care, I don't eat hamburgers anyway! They have good carne asada burritos, but too much pico de gallo in them. The beans are really good. The place is kinda divey, but thats OK, its not dirty and you can see them cooking in the back. I wish they would gave a description of the different types of burritos. Even a print out on a sheet if paper would work. How are you supposed to know the difference between a Congo burrito, super burrito, or California burrito? And theres even more than that. No drive through, but thats ok, they are pretty quick. read more

Solid breakfast burritos. Full of flavor, they don't skimp on the meat and potatoes. I also prefer tasting the tortilla and they deliver. My friend enjoyed hers too, but prefers more egg. Great to stop and go grab a quick bite after a hike. No need to feel underdressed...after writing all this a trip to the bathroom changed my feelings about coming here. If you want burgers...don't come here! Their specialty is Tex-Mex and it is very good. Like a few others we are addicted! It is a weekend ritual. At times the spice level varies but always temperature hot and made to order. My favorite is the green chile burrito with the red salsa. The way they heat the giant tortilla varies a little too. Sometimes it is a little more cooked. The staff is always friendly and ready to serve. Try it at least once and you will be hooked.
