I was told by many people the bread here is good, so decided to drive from clackamas to this place ... bad customer service , i asked for a paper box price and purchased two ( so the bread would make it back to clackamas in good condition) instead they tossed my bread in a paper bag and handed me the two folded boxes while callin up the next customer. read more

I am addicted to this place! I was in the mood for my favorite mexican dish: chili rellano served with rice and beans. Not every mexican restaurant can pull it off but this one did. It was delicious and the service was personal and perfect. I also discovered the difference between FRESH mexican pastry and boxed. They had a constant supply of freshly baked pastry. My favorite was the one that has the cream inside but they have a wall sized cabinet with so many choices! I don't drink alcohol but they do serve beer along with sodas and mexican juices. This is a great, local family run, Mexican food cafe. They serve traditional Mexican food. The staff is very friendly. My favorites are the fish tacos with avacodo, and the fish burrito with everything which also includes cabbage, rice, beans, cheese, avacodo, and sour cream. They have more veggies then most Mexican restaurants and can accommodate vegetarians and pescatarians. There​ is a nice outdoor patio for eating. My only concern is that styrofoam is used for to go food, please update to paper to go containers. Styrofoam is not biodegradable and is hazardous to our Earth. If you order the burrito to go, it will be wrapped in foil instead of a stryfoam container. read more

Yum Yum! This was some tasty Mexican food! I had the Everything Burrito, no meat and it was just what I wanted. The burrito itself was massive but did not mak me feel like I was going into a food coma like most burritos. My boyfriend had the vegetarian tamale and a bean and cheese burrito. Mexican food was his choice and he said it was perfect. We also bought a churro that was not dry. We will be back when in Silverton area! read more

We had out of town guests, so we decided to call ahead and pick up an order. When we arrived, it was pretty difficult to find parking. It looked like people just made their own parking spaces and cars were all over the place. We squeezed into one and I ran in to grab our food. The dining room was quite crowded and small. It wasn't the cleanest of restaurants. There were several flies. Only one woman was working the counter. She was quite overwhelmed, taking phone orders, cashing customers tabs, serving food, and busing tables. There were dirty trays tossed along the back part of the counter. It was a mess! The woman at the counter read my order back to me as she rang it up on the register. I was a bit shocked, as the total was much more than we had estimated, based on the menu prices. She brought out 1 bag and gave it to me (this was an order for 8 people). I questioned her about it all being there and she said everything was in the bag. When we got home, we found that we were missing a lot of our order, as suspected. I tried to call the restaurant several times to notify them that I'd be returning, but the phone just rang and rang. After dialing 4-5 times, finally someone answered. As soon as I started talking, I was hung up on! We drove back to the restaurant. I told the same lady at the counter that a lot of our food was missing and we did only get 1 bag. She insisted that it was all there and she gave me everything I had ordered. I repeated what we had ordered. She wanted to verify it with my order slip. She looked through all of the slips and commented that it was strange that she could not find it anywhere. I told her that I saw her place it in a stack of other orders when I had paid earlier. She said she would just have to trust that I wasn't lying to her and she wrote up a new slip for the missing items and said she'd have them make fresh food. When she gave me the rest of our food, I wish I would've looked at the items before leaving. I was shocked to see what we got! Our chicken flauta was burned! And not just a little, it was crispy and black, unless you wanted a couple bites out of the middle, it was inedible. The carne asada on the tacos was very well done and crispy. When our guests bit into it, there was a lot of gristle and fat. Our other guest ordered 2 chicken tacos. There was plenty of meat, however it was green!!! Unless your reading a Dr Suess poem, meat should not be this color! Our other guest ordered a carne asada burrito with everything. I don't know what their definition of "everything" is, but apparently it is only meat and rice! Our guest said it was very dry and they couldn't even finish it. It didn't help that there were no hot sauces, green sauces included in the bag. We also did not get any chips/salsa/pico de gallo. I posted photos of the food items, so you can see for yourselves! I've heard mixed reviews about this place. I'm definitely not impressed. read more

After I ordered my food I ask for the tortilla chips and salsa I was politely told they didn't serve them. I thought that was strange for a Mexican restaurant But they did make up with their food. I had the regular burrito which was very large and very delicious my wife had the tamales and it was very good too! Before we left I purchase some breakfast items from their bread and cookie area of the store. I purchased their apple pastry and another pastry and the next morning while enjoying my coffee I had their pastries and WOW. It was GREAT!!!! I'll be back for more of their pastries read more

I thought it was a bakery and didn't even know they have all kinds of Mexican Food and great burritos. It's like stopping by your mama's house for some home cooking. Cozy.I've lived in San Francisco's Mission District so I get picky about quality Mexican Food. I finally tried this place when I went back to visit during the holidays. This little place is a rare gem! I regret all the times I drove to Salem when Los Girasoles was right there. I would have been there all the time! Excellent, truly authentic. One of the finest taco joints I have ever been to, including some in Mexico. Get tacos de carnitas and some orchata and see what good Mexican soul food really tastes like. There's one in Woodburn too with a much larger dining room but owned by the same people and serving the same food. This place is worth driving an hour for! read more

Wow amazing! We shared the HUGH burrito everything and the carne assido burrito yummy. The cabbage slaw just complimented the flavors. Instead of salsa they delivered the red and green sauce to top the burritos, perfect. Cute little place to rest our wherry feet frot hiking all day. We came in not expecting much--well it didn't look like much. We ordered burritos, quesadillas for the kids, chicken with mole sauce, etc. The quesadillas came out first, and we all took bites just to try it--it was SO GOOD. It's funny how something as simple as quesadilla can taste so fantastic when it's done right. The trend continued--everything was excellent. We've been to Mexico a couple of times, and this place reminded me of our yummy meals there. I highly recommend this place. Great food at a good price. My wife and I ordered our food (2 burritos) and not 5 minutes after we sat down it was delivered. The burritos were delicious and absolutely gargantuan, everything is homemade, and they had friendly service. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the AC either didn't work or was turned off on a 93 degree day. Other than that it is a fantastic place to visit. read more

talk about some authentic mexican home cooking at its finest. after an experience in this modest establishment, you'll insist to go to the kitchen to hug the cook. there is nothing you get here that you'll turn your nose up to. for a quick meal, order a couple tacos at less than a $2 each. the Huarache was the dish that almost made me tear up out of love. i suggest you try it. for the incredibly picky or those that don't want anything to fancy, try a tostada, a couple flautas, or even a burrito or two. like i said, you can't possibly order something you'll regret here. just a bit of warning, the parking here is somewhat haphazard. its a small parking lot that'll fit several cars, but with no painted or marked spots, parking is however you decide. omg... i may have to go back to this place tomorrow read more
