I have been coming here for a few years now for the burritos. To get straight to the point, this place serves the best burritos in town and it's not even close. The meat they use is super juicy and delicious and the burritos themselves are massive! Definitely worth trying, but don't plan on dining in because this small place isn't much more than a kitchen and a countertop. read more

My California burrito was three extra large handfuls of French fries to half a handful of Carne asada. Everytime I stop by for takeout, I am very pleased with their fast service and delicious Carne Asada fries! They put it in a large box and add a large scoop of Carne Asada, onion, cilantro, tomato and guacamole for only 6 dollars not including tax. On top of that you can take your own condiments. I also like to get their rice and it is only 2 dollars and more than enough. I have also tried their tripa tacos and loved it. It's good price for good food! I have eaten here many times in the past, but finally got around to giving a review. I recently odered their shrimp tacos. They were outstanding!! The large shrimp were deep friend in a nice batter and served on two large corn torts. I got it with everything (except lettuce). Their salsa roja (red sauce) is pretty decent too. The shrimp were nicely done and the batter gave it that Baja-style taste. I was very pleased. Now I have also had their carne asada (beef) and pastor (pork), both are solid choices and are served on little mexican street-style torts. There is no place for seating (hence the 4 stars) but it is a mostly to go location. You can't go wrong here as this is a very good taqueiria that will keep you coming back. read more

Just came back from here probably no more than 20 minutes ago. Man I got a complaint for this place customer service wise. Food taste like any Mexican food joint. Got the shrimp burrito and the carne asada burrito. Not bad. Not going to lie, it filled me up. Also got the nachos from here. Those on the other hand, I've had better, for me it was lacking cheese. As customer service. SUCKED. RUDE. RUDE. RUDE. RUDE. I came in thinking I called this location for my pick up order. Turns out I called the wrong one. My fault, my bad. I apologized, and asked if they can make my order at this location instead because I didn't want to drive everywhere just for food when I'm already at this location. If I knew that it was going to be such a big deal for them to take an order from me because I called the wrong place I wouldn't have asked. This man comes out and goes "Next time make sure you call the right place." I apologized and said I know it's my fault I should of looked at the directions first. He continues to go "If you start driving now, you can make it there faster than we make your food." I'm sorry what? He continues to say stuff that it's my fault, I did the wrong thing, blah blah. Basically trying to kick me out and that it was such a hassle just to make an order. I was like if you want me to go I'll go to the other location to pick up my food. He responds with "No, but it's your fault." RUDE. I admitted it's my fault and apologized but if you have tell your customers that wow. You're loosing business if you're trying to make me leave and if it's such a hassle for you and your employees to throw in an extra order then why are you working in this business. Then, when I was ordering my nachos I asked for NO beans. As I'm watching the lady make the nachos, right in front of my eyes she scoops a spoonful of beans right on top my nachos. Politely, I simply just said I ordered no beans on the nachos. The employee looks at another employee raises her hands, rolls her eyes, shrugs her shoulders and says " I already put it." RUDE. Rang my order up, and the lady goes here's a card for when you come back. Looked at her and said no thanks after this customer service I got today I'm never coming back again. And this was my first time ever coming here. Two stars because the food was good. Lacking the rest of stars because I feel customer service is everything in business. Without good customer service, there's no customers. As much as I would want to come here for a quick meal, never going back there for the way I was treated. I think this place is great. There are two locations I know of one in Rancho and one in Ontario. For the most part I believe that most of them are pretty much the same. The food is pretty consistent. I typically get the Wet Burrito Asada and it is very large and delicious. Los Jalapenos is very good for the price its one of the Hole in the wall places that always seems to satisfy. Their food is great and the people are always very friendly. I have been going to this place for almost 5 years now and they are very good at what they do the flavour of their beans and meat is amazing and the tortillas they use seems home made and large. I typically order my Burritos with double to tortilla because their burritos tend to be real big and very messy but oh are they worth it!! read more

October 3, 2009 Small hole in the wall with super fresh, super good food! I needed a quick bite and took a flier on this place. Never been to this area before and never heard of Los Jalapenos. The carnitas melted in my mouth. Seriously, it could easily be the best I've ever had. One large taco was $1.80 and was filling. (Regular tacos are only $1.30) Of course, who can stop at just one when they're this good! Everything looked really good so I tried a carnitas torta. Killer!. If I am ever back in the area I will definitely plan a stop here for another sample. Very casual stand up counter dining. There's also a bench out front. This is the place for some good tacos. This isn't a place to sit and eat since their isn't really any tables inside but a small bar like table along side the windows of the place. Their is another Jalapeños near by with tables to sit and eat, but I prefer this smaller spot. The ladies that make the food here know what their doing. My boss recommended this place saying it was super authentic and relatively cheap. Yeah, pretty authentic just like those Mexican restaurants that remind you of the old college diet. The joint it pretty small, no tables to sit, but a bar to stand and eat. Food is served kinda cafeteria style. You can see them assemble the food as its being created (sortta like subway). I was reminded of these great Carne Asada burritos in Riverside from Los Albertos off University and had was excited to have the same, if not something similar. Well the differences are clear. Here is what I DIDN'T like about the All meat burrito -I didn't want an All Meat burrito. I wanted a regular burrito without the rice and beans. But I guess that translates to All Meat (which probably wouldn't have been such a problem, if they didn't over compensate the beans and rice with more meat. I seriously, did not want ALL THAT MEAT!) -the only thing they include in the burrito is cilantro, onions and green sauce. Where the hell is the salsa fresca or guac? Oh yeah, guess you don't get it if it's an ALL MEAT BURRITO, which is why I said large burrito no rice and beans. I think if my order was how I wanted it, it would have been a great burrito. The tortillas are GREAT and the service is wonderful. The pickled peppers, carrots and onions are INCREDIBLY salty, so eat with caution. The spicy red sauce is nice and smokey, I thought it was delicious. I was told the taquitos and quesadillas are really good. I guess I'd have to try it on a ballsy day. Ordering was kinda stressful, cause I knew what I wanted, they just didn't get it. Guess it was lost in translation. It was good enough to try again, with a different order. Los Jalapenos has fresh food that is made right in front of you. The food has been great every time I've eaten there but I did notice that Spanish-speakers seemed to be more welcome and treated in a more friendly manner. First time here.... Tried a California burrito, fish taco and champurrado. The California burrito was big, tasty and reasonably priced($6). The fish taco was only $1.09 but had no flavor. The champurrado was thick and sweet and overall pretty delicious. The restaurant is a hole-in-wall and kinda dumpy but I'd go back for another California Burrito. read more
