Hidden gem, like kind of hard to find if you're not out on the street ! We entered through the back hallway in the Chelsea Market food court, and had to ask where it was. It's really tucked away! The tacos are so fresh, the red salsa is spicy. I like that they had coronitas to drink. The guac & chips is an off the board side, but fresh and delicious. Chips are excellent. This is a get in line and place your order, then wait for your number to be called. Seating is limited but usually turns over pretty fast. It's like a little slice of Baja California in the middle of nyc!
They're no LA tacos but these are pretty close and dang good. Got the fish and shrimp tacos which came perfectly fried and rich. Good toppings and nice low heat. The especial ceviche was quite fresh and well balanced. Wish it came with more chips! Overall very vibey and cute spot. Lines can be long.
I've been here a few times. Went here for a tacos which fish which was absolutely delicious! I ordered two but I actually should have ordered one since they are very filling! At only $4.50 each, it is totally a bargain! The place is immediately outside of Chelsea market and I highly suggest it. They used to have picnic tables outside but they weren't there this time. I had to eat at the table inside! I recommend coming here and having something you'll love. We also stuck up good conversation with people who were just visiting NYC for a few days!
Hidden gem (literally!) in Chelsea Market, you gotta venture down some winding hallways to find this spot but it's well worth it for the delicious ceviche, aguachile, and seafood tacos. Los Tacos sister restaurant with much less of a long line, probably because of location. Always enjoy the ceviche on a shatteringly crisp tostada. The fried fish and fried shrimp tacos were a little bland but well fried. Aguachile was very fresh and portioned generously. We used up the accompanying tostadas to scoop all the scallops up!
I've been wanting to try Los Mariscos for a while now. I love their sister restaurant Los Tacos #1 and when I found out they had a seafood sister taco spot I excited because now my pescatarian friend could finally enjoy the delicious tacos. My friend and I decided to go by for a late lunch. Even though the space is fairly small we lucked up and found seating when others were leaving. The staff and very friendly and helpful explaining the different tacos and toppings. They have a decent variety of options on their menu and this location also offers oysters and clam and a full bar. I settled on the fish and shrimp tacos. These tacos come packed with flavor, toppings, and meat. The seafood tasted fresh and not too much breading. I will definitely come back to try their ceviche and more tacos. Also their Agua frescas are delicious and refreshing.
Better than Los Tacos! Tried the fish tacos and the ceviche. Both were superb! I liked the ceviche slightly more but both were excellent! I don't really care for the tostada but the ceviche itself was very flavorful. Fried fish tacos were very good too! Don't forget to ask for some complimentary shrimp broth which was a very nice addition on an especially cold day! They also have a container of chiclets near the bar area- a very cute touch- and some fun flavors/colors too! Typically more seating than Los Tacos which is nice. Overall, I would highly recommend and will definitely be returning!
Fresh pressed tortillas on the spot and fresh flavorful food. I dream of their mixed seafood ceviche ($6.50 on a crispy tostada). Shrimp, calamari, octopus, and clam "cooked" in lime juice and aromatics. Have only had ceviche at this restaurant, was hesitant about ordering it, but it is mind blowing. And the seafood texture wasn't raw - also mixed in with other ingredients like onion and crunchy green tomatillo (summer). The fried fish taco ($5.50) is also excellent, not heavily battered or greasy. Served with the most finely shredded cabbage ever on top, an orange mayo drizzle, and salsas with a medium kick. 2 Tacos (or Items) make a good lunch. The Agua de Frescas were very refreshing and not-too-sweet. Got the cucumber & mint ($5.50). Lots of people seem to order the Cocatales with unlimited saltines, but I'm always distracted by the ceviche tostada. I kept wondering WHY the Los Tacos No. 1 franchises taste SO good (like the ones in San Diego) and after speaking to the lovely manager here, they are owned by 3 friends who met at University. One from Tijuana and this company's food is TIJUANA-STYLE. After eating at many places in NYC, Queens, Sunset Park (mostly Puebla Mexican I think); I'm going to stick to Lost Tacos No. 1 and Los Mariscos for my summer seafood craving. Don't mess with unexpected quality elsewhere. The staff is friendly and super efficient. The space is fun and feels like an oceanside-porch with a small bar, a few picnic tables (outdoor shed seating still available), but it gets crowded easily with the line. Music is very loud, soccer game is usually on, cute fish tank at the cash wrap, very clean, nicely designed walls and interior, one single bathroom. The price point is $1-2 higher than what I would normally pay for a taco at a casual place, but the fresh tortilla shells and overall quality of the food is on par with the price. These are elevated tacos.
Went to Los Mariscos in Chelsea Market (they have their own street entrance off 15th Street) with a friend after a workout class. You order at the counter inside, then can grab a seat either indoors or at one of the covered sidewalk tables--they've made it really casual and easy. I've been here many times, and the food never disappoints. The tacos--especially the shrimp, fish, and spicy shrimp--are consistently fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. The guac and chips are also very good. They also have a full bar if you're in the mood for a drink. Perfect spot for a quick, delicious, and affordable meal in the neighborhood.
Los Mariscos is open again (along with its neighbor Los Tacos) and it's as awesome as ever. My boyfriend and I ordered ahead online, then walked up to get our food - it was a smooth process. Shrimp taco was my favorite, though the fish tacos and especial ceviche were also great. Upping to 5 stars because everything was really delicious! Glad they're back open. read more
All I can say is best fish tacos in NY. The shrimp tacos are really amazing too. The only other place ive had better is in California and Mexico. Insider tip: since there is no seating at their sister restaurant los tacos no1. Grab a seat here and send one of your buddies to get the al pastor tacos next door. read more

Still visiting! Ceviches are tasty and fresh as always, and you can't go wrong with ordering one. Don't forget about the warm, soothing shrimp broth too! It's free and a perfect addition to the fall/winter months. This time, I also tried the tacos--fish and spicy shrimp--which were amazing. Lightly breaded fish, soft to bite into, refreshing, and extremely flavorful sauces altogether are a few ways to describe the plates. Will always be a happy customer! read more

First time having seafood tacos and it was a great experience. We ordered shrimp taco, spicy and non spicy fish taco and picked corn tortillas for them. Taste wise, they were awesome, fresh ingredients so it gave us fresh flavors as well. Shrimp texture was superb! The fish tacos, we could not differentiate which one was which, but both were good and had crispy batter (the other one had a bit more tasty and savory note). We tried their sesame sauce (not sure if this is the correct name, but we picked one of the sauces on the table) and it was a good combination with the tacos! The portion size was generous as well so I was quite full after eating this (there were two of us sharing three tacos). The waiting could be long so be prepared for it. They had tables for the dine in inside, but there weren't many. Overall, it was a great meal :) read more
You should Definitely enjoy some food here! If you're at Chelsea Market or in the area near 15th Street and 9th Ave, enjoy a fish taco. Or order the shrimp cocktail, served in a tall glass like you'd see an ice cream soda served in. Someone at my shared picnic table ordered it, and it looked amazing !! So, my next visit, I'll have to try it. It is $12. I can tell you that the fish taco is ALWAYS DELICIOUS , so definitely get a fish taco, and see whatever else appeals to you. AND PLEASE PUT SOME MONEY IN THE TIP JAR.Drinks and beers are also served here and quite popular, too. There's also an after-work type crowd for drinks and guacamole or salsa. Place your order, hold on to your paid receipt, and listen for your number shown on your receipt. Service here is friendly, helpful, and just plain old NICE!! The staff works hard here, they are really nice , so please remember to show your appreciation and put something in the TIP JAR please. Delicious and cheap seafood tacos! Located near Chelsea market this is a great stop for a quick meal that's worth every penny. It's a small menu so ordering is east. We got the spicy shrimp and fish tacos. So freshly made with amazing flavor and good quantity too. They also have another restaurant called Los Tacos with chicken, beef and other protein options. Tastes authentic and definitely worth the price. read more

Much better than los tacos imo. I thought the spicy shrimp was the best taco but the fish was also pretty good. I also got the crudo especial which was fresh and yummy, although it was a bit too salty for me. Loved the wide variety of hot sauces they had to choose from IMPORTANT! Ask the cashier for a sample of their seafood broth when you order. It's soooo delicious I wish they had it on their menu so I could order a whole bowl. And the best part is that its free so there's no reason not to get it! read more
I really enjoy the freshness of the ingredients here. Like their sister store, tacos are very well executed and a great choice for a hot summer day. I'm a fan of their especial ceviche also; it's pretty small but I really like the variety of seafood you get and it's very fresh. Try out their aguas frescas as well! Los marisco is simply los tacos #1 with seafood if you like los tacos then you most definitely should try los mariscos. The ceviche was off the chain. Veggies mixed with seafood and lime and jalapeños. The shrimp taco is the gem of this place. Top it off with a Mexican Coca Cola . The place is around Chelsea next to the high line. You can eat inside or outside. The price is reasonable and inexpensive to eat till you get stuffed. Que viva los mariscos read more

Ceviche and tacos are getting lots of play here, and are both fine, but the must-have is the coctel campechano. This medium-spiced treat is the perfect summer cuisine, with just the right amount of avocado to mix things up. What an absolute (somewhat hidden) gem. This might be the best place in New York. It can be found in the Chelsea Market down a hallway next to Los Tacos. The menu is simple - fish and shrimp tacos, ceviche, a number of cocktails and drinks to choose from, etc. Everything is priced very reasonably. I had the fish ceviche (4.50), a fish taco (3.75) and a Clamato ($12). Ceviche was super fresh and a good portion size for the price, served atop a tostada with some avocado. Fish taco was great as well but honestly the ceviche was the standout for me. I would come back for this alone. Clamato (basically their version of a spicy michelada) was probably the best michelada I've ever had, and came with one of those tamarind candy sticks. It was super flavorful without being overly spicy. Staff is friendly, the line moves quickly, there are plenty of hot sauces to try both homemade (the peanut one was especially interesting) and bottled, and there is a little bit of seating both at a couple tables and a bar. There's a decent amount of standing room as well. All in all, absolutely 5 stars. Will return ASAP. read more

this space is in chelsea market, there's an outdoor entrance and the indoor entrance is a bit hidden. their menu is mainly seafood! so we got the fish tacos and the shrimp tacos, as well as some drinks. the total was around $30 which wasn't too bad. this place is really busy! couldn't find much seating, but the food was really good. i got the agua fresca watermelon and it was refreshing . we got shrimp taco was good, but i preferred the fish taco more. the fish taco had a great freshness to the fish and a delicious crispy batter. the freshness of the sauces and vegetables paired nicely with it. the portions of the tacos are huge! overall really good, would come here again. read more

Full disclosure I did not know this was a mexican spot only serving fish items. My spanish is obviously nonexistent but I am glad I came this spot is amazing. They have a simple menu but every single item is done right. The freshness of the fish is absolutely the first thing that I noticed about every item. The ceviche was so good because of the freshness. Every flavor was balanced and that is really why it is great. The fish taco, shrimp taco, enchilado taco were also delicious. The tacos aren't over dressed either and they let the fish shine. They only have a couple tables in here so with Covid it is hard to sit inside but they do have some shared outside seating. You can taste the freshness in every bite. We also tried the Cucumber and mint juice that was an excellent compliment to the meal. They do one thing and they do it right. Not sure if they are associated with Los Tacos but both are ridiculously good. Must try! read more

I've frequently been to the nearby Los Tacos No 1 but the other day I was introduced to Los Mariscos. I was so confused when my friend walked me through some back hallways inside Chelsea Market, and when we got here I was so surprised that I never knew it existed. The room was very crowded with a lively bunch of people watching soccer on the large TVs. The food took a little longer than I would expect, but it was quite tasty and not particularly expensive for the area. read more

Los Mariscos is easily one of my go-to spots in New York. I come from Southern California where authentic Mexican food is a staple cuisine. From traveling across the U.S., I've noticed real authentic Mexican food is hard to come by. Chain restaurants like El Toritos is (respectfully) an abomination in my opinion. Additionally, I am extremely particular with my Mexican food. Once you've had the real deal, it's hard to revert back to anything else. Los Mariscos reminds me home and there are days where I crave the ceviche when in California. The especial ceviche is to die for with a michelada. 10/10 would come back. read more
Absolutely have to check this place out if you're at the Chelsea Market. The food is delish reminded me of the yummy Mexican seafood I eat back home in L.A. I love that you can order it all in small plates at reasonable prices so that you can try as much or as little of the menu that you want. It's all very fresh including the tortillas which you can see them making right In front of you. I wish there was more seating, it's very popular so you might find yourself standing for a bit till a seat opens up. I went on a Friday night and it was packed so we stood at the tortilla bar and ate our tacos and aguachiles standing up then later moved over to the bar when a couple of seats opened up. (But limited seating is common here at the Chelsea Market, don't let that stop you from visiting, eventually a seat will open up) read more

We came in for lunch this afternoon and I was so happy that we got to eat indoors. This place is small but they managed to space out the tables for social distancing. I went with the ceviche mixto and a fish taco. The ceviche comes on top of a tostada. The ceviche was really good just drier than what I'm used to. The fish taco was stuffed with cabbage and crema on top of the battered fried fish, the fish was crispy and flavorful. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying the shrimp tacos. read more

Was in the Area for work. It was nice the see the Chelsea Area packed with people. Wanted to try something different from the Original Beef Taco, so I came here to Los Mariscos. For their Fish Taco and Shrimp Taco. Location was a little difficult to find. There was a line. The staff Was very friendly and fast they kept the traffic moving. I ordered the Fish Taco and a Shrimp Taco. It was so Worth the Wait...... If you are in the Area it's a must try. read more
Overrated--period. Crowds; very limited indoor seating; totally unremarkable food and drinks, as well as service. I really don't get what all the hype is about. I happened to come in around 4 on a Saturday because it came up as a top-rated Yelp recommendation for 'happy hour'. Warning: there are NO happy hour specials here. Food is cheap, but you get what you pay for (including TINY portions of ceviche). Very basic Margaritas were $12. Would not return and would not recommend. read more

Chelsea Market is in full swing again. Los Mariscos is my usual go-to spot there. It was very popular today because there was a bit of wait to get our food. I ordered two enchilado tacos and the pineapple juice. They were delicious and I actually regretted not ordering one more. I did want to comment that the seating situation is now much better. Before it was nearly impossible to find indoor seating in their restaurant, but thankfully Chelsea Market has expanded the outdoor seating with heating/lighting. read more
