Went here on a Friday night and was surprised it wasn't more crowded. Had a terrific waiter and the food was really good. I had the California Burrito. I do judge a Mexican place by their guacamole and mine is 100 times better than theirs. There were little fruit flies flying around and the bathroom needs a good cleaning. DO NOT GO HERE. The service was the worst I've ever had in my entire life. First, the host begins by ignoring us as we stand there and wait for a solid 10 min till someone acknowledged us. Then when we finally did get sat, our server never came to get our drinks and our food. The entire staff was rude and all had rude remarks when we tried to get someone to serve us after 25 min of sitting there. The manager (Sergio) was also extremely rude and unhelpful when we asked to speak to a manager after the horrid service we had. As someone who is relatively easy to please, I have to admit I was greatly underwhelmed in general by the lack of spice and flavoring in the food. That being said, the service was fine, not amazing but not bad by any means. I ordered a chicken quesadilla that came with rice that was hard, had a orange color to it, and absolutely no seasoning it also appeared the quesadilla had been steamed or maybe microwaved. The guacamole reminded me of the pre-made you can purchase at any store, again no flavor. From where I was sitting I could see many microwaves being used frequently in the kitchen which in my opinion is never a good sign. Sure, it is a strip mall restaurant, but the food is EXCELLENT!! Free chips and salsa, as it should be (you won't get that from Chili's!!). Was a loyal customer until the owner closed the door 20 minutes before the 9 pm closing hour. Was told grill is turned off. Went at least 1 time per week for lunch because I liked the food. Also took family to dinner at least 2 times per month. So minimum 200 per month spent. The owner just looked at me and put his arms up in the air. I came here after a HORRIBLE experience at Margaritas. After being abused for 2 hours and still not being fed, we left and went to Los Tapatios. We told the waiter what we had just went through and he quickly brought chips for the table and all of our drinks. When I asked what type of sauce they put on their enchiladas the waiter responded "enchilada sauce," I was like " red,verde, mole?" Margaritas were awful mixer margaritas, very sweet. The food was horrendous. For $8 I can chop up some iceberg lettuce and dump a can of beans on your plate, there was no flavor. I realize it is only a $5 savings however they should not advertise in the book if they do not accept the coupons. Also as Jess M. pointed out there are flies/gnats in this location that you will be swatting away once the food is served. I am a regular at Los Tapatios usually once if not twice a month and have usually had a good experience until today. My Son and I went in for lunch and they sat us next to the hostess stand at a table that was so dark you could barely see the food on the table. There were slot of other empty tables. My mistake, I should have asked to be moved. They had the back door to the restaurant opened several feet and we were directly across from this door when I asked our waiter if they could shut the door he said yes. Within 5 minuets the waitress, whom by the way is the owners daughter, went over and reopened the door and when our waiter explained to her he shut it because I was cold she blew him off and didn't care!!! Extremely poor way to treat your customers especially someone who drops on average $60.00 to $70.00/ month at your business. Wouldn't have been so bad if she had at least acknowledged my request and maybe offered to move us to a different seat. But CLEARLY she didn't care! Will not be going back here and giving them anymore of my hard earned money. The girl is very extremely moody! Needs to find another job. read more

i'm having a really hard time deciding what to rate this. yes, i'm going to have to say it IS the best mexican restaurant in the binghamton area, but that's only because its only competition is national chains. the good thing is that it's cheap. you can definitely get a good meal for around $10. i love that the menu has a ton of options, but it seems like 75% of the menu is the same 3 ingredients somehow worked differently. the toppings are where this place shines, but the actual meat itself is where it falters. the ground beef has a good texture, not too greasy but it could use more flavor. same with the rest of the meat. my favorite mexican restaurant is Viva up in ithaca, and while their menu is smaller, the meat that they use is a lot better. Viva uses brisket for their beef burritos, and they have a pork chorizo option as well. i wish LT would add that to their menu. i usually do enjoy my meals here, but one time i did not enjoy it the next day, and i know others who have had that problem here too! the margaritas here are pretty good. i got a mango one on the rocks recently and it was very good and easy to drink, a good balance of sweet and booze. as for the complimentary chips and salsa, the salsa is ok but i don't like the texture of the chips. the tacos are good and the burritos are decent, but my favorite thing i had here was the chimicheesecake dessert, definitely try that! i've never had bad service here and the place has a good atmosphere, it's good for a dinner with friends, so if you're in the mood for mexican, give it a shot, it's not the best but you should be able to find something on the menu that you'll enjoy. read more

This was our first time and last time. They have quesadilla listed in about 4 places on the menu. All but one did not specifically say it came with sour cream and guacamole. So when it came without I asked for sour cream thinking it was just forgotten, only to be charged an extra $2, for a small dish, which is more than a 16oz container. The meat and cheese in the quesadilla was almost non existent and they used American cheese! Then to find out my daughters kids meal didn't come with a drink (which in any decent restaurant the drink comes with the kids meal) and we were charged $2.25 for the milk which is more than I pay for a full gallon. There was one other unexplained charge because we did not receive an itemized bill. Talk about nickel and dimeing you!! The meal was pretty much microwaved and talk about bland! The presentation was horrible! On top of all of this when we went to pay we had a coupon for buy one menu item get one free up to $5. Well guess which item they picked??? Not a meal, but one of the condiments and then rudely claimed it was actually two items which brought the bill down $2. Wow thanks so much. You can bet we will not be recommending this place to anyone and will never step foot back in this place. Was in the area with my mom and this place had decent reviews. It looks like a hole in the wall Mexican restaurant but we know those can be the best kind so we went in, I wish we hadn't. Not authentic to say the least, and we know authentic - we're from California. We both got a beef burrito with rice and beans and it was the worst burrito we've ever had...Taco Bell would have been better. The burrito was just ground beef rolled up in a flour tortilla topped with some sauce (we opted out of the American cheese...yes...AMERICAN CHEESE). The beans were so soupy you almost couldn't eat them with a fork and the rice was pretty flavorless. Everything was pre-made - it literally took less than a minute for the waitress to bring us our meals. I will say the salsa was pretty good but the chips were a mix of half fresh and half stale so that was also a little disappointing. Additionally, the bathroom was dirty, like pee on the seat and poop smeared in the toilet dirty. I didn't have the margarita because I'm pregnant but I noticed they're pre-made as well and hanging out in a slushie machine - as a margarita lover and bartender this made me a little sad, but I'm not sure how it tasted. On the plus side the food was cheap and the service was quick and nice...but that's about it. We passed a bunch of restaurants to get there, I'd recommend going to one of those instead. read more
