This place is our every holiday Thankgiving and Christmas place to put in our order for their tamales. Am funny about eating tamales from other people to much hand work goes into them and it makes me think twice about eating them. But, this restaurant is clean professional and their tamales are the best. My surgeons at work love them and so does our holiday company at home. It's become a tradition for my family to order them every end of the year. Place worth trying out. read more

The tamales are great. The service - Not so much. Lately, the front of the business/register has been ran by a young Hispanic male with a chili-bowl haircut. This guy is always extremely rude, dry, and gives this business a black eye. Today, I went in to place an order and decided to walk right out after listening to the way this guy was talking to customers inside of the business. The day they replace this guy with someone respectful and courteous, is the day I'll return. Until then, I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

Went in and ordered 2 dozen tamales with guacamole. Once got home only had 1 dozen, called back to inform they shorted me 1 dozen, the first person on the phone could not understand me kept trying to take my order. Menudo is good. Tamales good, but a little dry. It could use a little more lard, but for the price, it was worth the dryness. Their salsa lacked heat. Overall will return to buy more tamales, but will use salsa from elsewhere. read more

I remember 10 years ago that this place was our favorite tamale restaurant. I'm not sure what happened to their recipe. I'm a fan of the pork ones and they are not as good anymore. I was in the mood for some pork and chicken tamales but didn't want to drive across town to my favorite tamale place so I went to Yelp and found good reviews on this place. I ordered 1 dozen pork and 1 dozen chicken. After getting them home and making my cup of coffee, I was slightly disappointed. The masa was brittle for lack of a better word as it crumbled when I went to lift the tamale to my mouth. Once I got it there I wasn't impressed with the flavor. I mean they tasted OK but nothing out of the ordinary. Lastly the cost. These are easily the most expensive dozen of tamales I've ever had. $12 a dozen...really? Definitely not worth $12 per dozen. We have gone here for breakfast. The service is fairly quick and the tamales were good. However, they have no fountain drinks and the amount they charge for canned drinks is outrageous. If the drink prices were reasonable this would be a good spot for a value breakfast. read more

Had good breakfast tacos today. Coffee wasn't that great but the service was nice. TVs were too loud. Prices are reasonable for their plated breakfast options and tacos are pretty big. I have tried repeatedly to like this place and today was the final attempt. Went in to get breakfast and it was as it usually is, clean and busy. Asked for chilaquiles. I would imagine it is hard to ruin chilaquiles, but this place somehow managed to do it. It looked like they took a scoop of masa and mixed it with red sauce and put some queso fresco on top of it. We ordered $50 worth of food and one portion of it was edible. Part of this order was for some pork tamales. Less than half meat and it had a horrible flavor. I have ordered them in the past and thought they were average, but this was beyond average. Absolutely horrible. I will never be back. Final attempt. read more

I used to get tamales here years back when I lived close by I decided to stop in today and get a dozen brisket tamales and I am disappointed in this place now. It looks nicer on the inside than it did year back but the quality has really gone down hill. First of all, they have a large menu on the wall that states half dozen $6 and a dozen $8.99 but when I was rang up it was $14! $14 for a dozen tamales is pretty ridiculous in my opinion, most places charge $10 for a dozen. I read another review on here about them having a sand taste which I didn't understand until I got home and the masa has a gritty taste. Overall the tamales were super oily and bland, I asked for spicy salsa and it had no spice at all. I would never waste so much money on these cheap quality tamales again. read more

I went there 3 days ago... I have been going there for about 8 years and they were excellent. The spicy pork was outstanding ! I went in there to have a few for lunch and I ordered the spicy pork... The first bite I knew there was something wrong.. The flavor was flat and not spicy at all.. In fact there was no flavor ! I told the man in there to try one of my tamales and he said I will get you some more.. The next were just as bad but I kept my mouth shut and my husband called and to bring one dozen pork and one dozen spicy pork home. I told him they were no good , he said maybe it was me ! Later on that afternoon I came back and ordered two dozen for home. That night my husband told me I can't eat those tamales.. I said why, he said they are flavorless and they have no seasoning at all. I started to bring them back but I just threw them away. I will not go there again and pay $ 12.00 a dozen for cornmeal ! They just lost a good customer. I will find me somewhere else to go for tamales...I hope the owners read this and fix the problem .. Betty C. read more

We have been ordering tamales from this place for years now since 2013. I have always loved the tamales and every Christmas we place our pre-order of tamales. They recently (a few years ago) added a small kitchen to serve breakfast tacos that we order often. This has been our go to place, this year as usual I placed my order for tamales (brisket) and was very disappointed. The tamale was very red in color and couldn't taste the brisket as in previous years, I didn't even know what kind of meat was inside it was so sauced up. The masa was very gritty. This to me was a sign of powder and not the real chile used to make tamales. How disappointing, I will try to order a few tamales in the next few weeks to see if they are the same. If so I will be ordering tamales elsewhere for next year. read more
